I used to carry big bulky handbag to look like an adult because I had seen most adults look good with large size handbag. So I got an important lesson from this video💁💁, if something looks good on other person that doesn't means that it will look good on you too😔😔😔. I used to be 5'3 3/4" tall. I shrank, and now I am 5'3". I never knew that I was petite. clothes always made me look frumpy! Always bought regular, never petite. Thank you so much for all you do for short people!
5'1" here - loved my big bags from 2014-2016. Before that it was a suitcase with wheels! So you can see why I switched. But then I just gave up and got a backpack (ugh! I'm was 45) Finally last year, I discovered medium sized bags for my 50th bday (except I still have to use the backpack once a week - sigh!).....I don't use cars and walk 2-5 miles a day.....

I'm 5'4 & I like to wear most of my bags on my shoulders, I like my bags to sit close to my body, I think its the most feminine & flattering way to wear a bag, as you said the attention is drawn to your upper body. Crossbodies I find are good if you want to be handsfree it's a little more casual. I like to carry midsize bags width length I'll wear up to 14" at the max only If the silhouette compliments my body shape. I love the look & feel of slouchy horizontal hobo bags, it gives off a carefree attitude boho style, as well as the the depth of it allows you to keep stuffing things in it just in case you need that something extra.if your gonna carry the extra weight, an mportant factor of a bag is to have good straps that don't strain your shoulder & preferably lightweight material.
Haha the "I love my big bags...just in case" scenes are so cute, can totally relate haha. But I don't like how big or even too medium-large or too big of medium bags look for me or how heavy or feeling they weigh me down. I've spent hours minimizing bag contents and it's improving. I'm sorting out if I can get away with trading my laptop for tablet so it can go in a medium bag on days I need it, instead of its own separate laptop bag. I've never heard anyone discuss bag strap length and where on the body the bag hits!! Thanks for your attention to detail about proportions! You always look so great! Sometimes bag straps aren't as comfy as I'd like but especially if I fill my bag too full.
I have a couple of Chanel flap bags (small) that are crossbody with chains. An SA showed me how I could pass the chains criss cross under the flap to make them the right length. You can also use a hair tie to customize the drop.
Big bag hides my baby bump. And it's sensible when going to the shops. You can throw purchases into big bad bag saving use of multiple plastic bags that cause so much damage to marine life. That said, thanks for providing guidance regarding suitable cross body bag lengths.
Crossbody when worn across your body needs to be longer, worn on your shoulder, then it needs to be shorter. I always prefer a longer bag shape as a crossbody as opposed to a wide bag, to me it just looks better. But I am especially particular about how I carry my bags. I will never carry a bag on my arm, at a certain age it makes you looks way older than you are!
I belong to a bag chat on FB and you wouldn’t believe how many women I have to ask “how tall are you?” - if short, don’t get one of those big beach bags, unless your going to the beach 🏖.
Great content but as I learn more, there is also conflicting advice. As an inverted triangle, I’m best to wear a small crossbody bag. Avoid small bags just under the arms which add volume to the top half. Your video here suggests the opposite- go for small bags which are of shorter length. 🤷🏻♀️
big bags are hard on your shoulders to and can cause health problems ! strap drop length can be adjusted by a cobbler or shoe repair person if it can't be adjusted with just the hardware.!

I'm not a fan of big bags either co I'm very petite but I have to carry a 15" laptop for work so that makes my daily carry bag at least that size. What would you recommend for someone who has to carry laptop, lunch etc on a daily basis?

I don't wear big bags any more. I have some nice designer medium bags, but they don't even look right on me. I only use the small cross body bags and clutches. I have a cellphone wallet and many days, that is all I take. The big bags wear me, so I just don't go there anymore.😉👍
Just discovered your videos. I like them but PLEASE CUT THE PIANO in the background. Too loud distracting and annoying, cannot hear nor understand you with so much going on.
I actually think it gives character and a friendly fun vibe to the video. I think it might help if it were playing more softly in the background though.
This is why I got the neverfull in PM … I used to think if I spend a lot on a bag I need to get the larger ( most ) bag for the $ , but that is a silly way to look at it . Get what looks best and still fits your needs .
My health condition makes it inadvisable for me to carry any bag so I now use small lightweight bags and ugly rucksacks strapped onto my back if I need to carry a lot. Maybe someone will design a pretty strap on bag!

I don't carry a big bag, because I will fill it up with stuff I don't really need and it'll be too heavy and big bags overwhelm me. I carry a medium bag or a small crossbody bag that I have shortened the strap on
I'm 5 ft. I like shoulder strap bags. If I can curl my fingers under my bag I'm happy. This way I feel I can also protect it also.

I think the length of torso on everyone makes a big difference too. I am 5"4, and the same bags look lower on me than on my friend who is 5"2

I asked a jewelry shop, if they could shorten the chain for me. No problem, and it didn't cost me a lot of money.
You probably could take out some of the links from the chain bag. I am only 5' and I have done this before and it makes a big difference!

Sometimes bag straps aren't as comfy as I'd like but especially if I fill my bag too full.

If you can afford them, invest in Longchamp pliage canvas bags. Even the small sizes will hold a heck of a lot!

Try laptop bag (I used to have one that’s just the size of a laptop so it wasn’t oversized) or backpack.

I always have to shorten the strap. I’m 5’4” with shorter trouser. If the strap is long long, it’s not comfortable.
