Saw this movie on opening day. One of my all-time favorites growing up. When I found out I lived just under 2hrs from this location I went the very next day. I've walked the lighthouse stairs numerous times.
It's really funny, that Robert pretty much got more screen time with this little cameos than he would have gotten even if you had done a Nightmare 2 one
I always got an H3 vibe from The Fog. And I love how JC used a lot of the same actors/actresses in a lot of his movies. Thank You Sean, all of your vids are tip top!
Same here. Both are 2 of my favorite horror movies ever. I liked H3 before it became "cool" to like it. Back when the Halloween 3 geocities page was up and running in the 1990s!
I am a new subscriber. The Fog is one of my favorite movies. You do a great job with your videos. The convenience store in the begging supposedly is even more epic that just from this movie. It was a local hang out for Jim Morrison who lived in apartments across the street. My dream someday would be to go to the lighthouse.
If I lived in an iconic house and I wasn’t sick or super busy. I’d most certainly show people around a lot. And minimum I’d let them get up close. People that take extreme advantage will be dealt with as they come. Usually people like us that like weird shit, we usually are great people and would take the most care.
Great video! I love the Fog, one of my favorite horror films. Ever since I was a kid I've wanted to visit that beach and the lighthouse. One of these days.. My girl grew up in Sierra Madre, and recognized the church the first time we watched the Fog together. She was a member of that church, and instantly noticed that Father Malone's room was not the same as the actual room in the church. We didn't know it was actually a set. Makes you wonder why Carpenter filmed the bulk of the movie in Northern Cal, but chose to film in a small church several hours south.
Retired friday from the military after 20 years. Met Sean in london filmcon 2 years ago. This is what i want to do...travel around and see the locations. Excellent content Sean. Top man 👌👍
So I just revisited this video and noticed the station wagon in this film is the same kind of wagon from Halloween. The one in The Fog is a 76 Ford LTD, and the one in Halloween is a 78 Ford LTD. Must have been a popular vehicle back then!
Usually when you see a beach, it looks warm and inviting and makes you want to spread out a blanket. Not the beach in the opening scene. It looks lonely, and desolate. Perfect look for the movie.
Haha donno why but that intro reminded me of when rl Stine did the intro to some goosebumps episodes like the haunted mask. Good stuff went back to watch ur older stuff hoping for more new to come
I was too young to get into R rated movies, but I snuck into "The Fog." I loved it. The setting, the music, the atmosphere, the great look of the film. It has a cozy feel to it. And Adrienne Barbeau is really critical to its success. She was just terrific. Taking a hit off her cigarette while looking out at the ocean and saying "It sure beats Chicago." I hate using the word "underrated" but this film didn't get the credit it deserved when it was released. Of course neither did "The Thing" in 1982, which is now rightfully considered one of the greatest horror films ever.
Met you last year at Chicago's flashback weekend - I've been a horror fan since the age of 7 and that was my first horror convention. Only got to talk to you for a few minutes, but you were awesome. Got some free stickers, lol and my picture with the legend - Tom Akins !
I just found this. Thank you for doing this cuz fog is one of the best movies ever. John Carpenter is a genius. Truthfully I forgot that the birds were done at this location. It's the fog that stands out to me. Anyway great job and thanks.
Such a massive fan of your horrors hallowed ground and of course i have subscribed to your channel. Look forward to seeing your future videos. Stay safe my friend.
Great episode, i always watch and rewatch your episodes of this on the Scream Factory blu-rays. Keep up the awesome work man, shame they wouldn't allow to the lighthouse, but given what happened after i guess that was a good thing lmao
Was one of my first horror movies I got to go see. Made a trip out west in ‘19 and made to Pt Reyes. Unfortunately wasn’t able to get to the lighthouse as it was being renovated. Great video.
It's not a 'stage' Sean... It's a church in spite of them selling out... that means it's an 'altar'. In spite of this (and your beach shorts), great vid ;)
That is not Stinson Beach. That long stretch is called Pt. Reyes Beach. Stinson Beach south of Pt. Reyes. They did show in the opening credits Stinson Beach but the lighthouse in not near it.
It's been over 10 years and he still hasn't done Nightmare 2, wouldn't be funny if he did, and Robert shows up late right after they filmed everything, man that would really piss him off.
Sean's great at these videos the fog was an amazing film 🎥 it's a shame they never did a sequel, they did a remake it was not that good 😮as it wasn't John carpenter not a bad attempt though
Robert Rusler need to be in all of your videos. He's like your Stan Lee in the videos and he's hilarious.
Love to see Vamp 1986 filming locations with Robert Rusler.
One of my favourite john carpenter films..his older stuff was great.
Saw this movie on opening day. One of my all-time favorites growing up. When I found out I lived just under 2hrs from this location I went the very next day. I've walked the lighthouse stairs numerous times.
I love all of Robert's cameos!!!
He's cool. I agree. I wish he would do A nightmare on elm street 2 already.
@@j.d.contreras392 Same here I would love to see a Nightmare on Elm st 2 fliming locations
I love when Sean told him "Elm St. 2 sucks!" and he went after him.
It's really funny, that Robert pretty much got more screen time with this little cameos than he would have gotten even if you had done a Nightmare 2 one
This is my favorite horror movie.
Thanks for bringing these locations for us 💯
You do great work ! Thanks for bringing back wonderful memories about my youth and favorite movies ! 👍🏻
RIP father Malone he died this year few weeks ago

@Brian_Leetch I have liked it since the mid 80s(like you, before it was cool)but I don't get all the hate it gets, it's a really solid SciFi flick!

My fave movie to watch around Halloween. 🌫️

Thanx for doing this. The Fog (1980) is one of my fave movies of all time.

Loved to see Robert Shaw's quint narrate the Indianapolis story to the kids... Lol
Your John Houseman send up had me laughing. Great episode. One of my favorite films.

Robert Rusler still AWESOME.
Legend is sean Clark.....up there with tom Atkins 😀
Usually when you see a beach, it looks warm and inviting and makes you want to spread out a blanket. Not the beach in the opening scene. It looks lonely, and desolate. Perfect look for the movie.
Putting The Fog on now thanks for sharing

My favorite John Carpenter movie of all time!!!
JOHN CARPENTER, THE MASTRR OF HORROR
Only just discovered your channel and it's brilliant. You should have way more subscribers.
Thank you! Feel free to spread the word.
Nice video! That's not Stinson Beach behind you. It's Point Reyes Beach South also known as Ten Mile Beach.
I caught that too

Glad you enjoyed it. It’s an older episode. Shot it in 2014 but happy it’s still getting love.
Your shows are awesome! I appreciate all the work you put in.
Such a massive fan of your horrors hallowed ground and of course i have subscribed to your channel. Look forward to seeing your future videos. Stay safe my friend.

Making some very cool Carpenter videos, very shocked you don't have more subs.
This is one of my favourite movies. I've always felt that was an underrated movie.
Subscribed after I saw this episode featured in the Scream Factory blu ray of The Fog. Also hit the bell to get notifications. 🙂
Just found this channel recently and it's become one of my favorites, finally someone who loves the same weird stuff as me haha
@@Dubsteppah Glad you are digging it! 👊🏻
It's funny seeing Robert Russell 😂
Best Thing in this video is the orange VW. 👍👍😅😅
Kidding. Great work as usual. 👋👋👍👍
Great episode, i always watch and rewatch your episodes of this on the Scream Factory blu-rays.
Keep up the awesome work man, shame they wouldn't allow to the lighthouse, but given what happened after i guess that was a good thing lmao
The "Deli" sign. That should have been added that to your personal collection like you did with the Elrod cutting board. Black Asylum forever.
If I was the owner, I would have a reproduction Antonio Bay Gift Corner sign hanging there instead.
Is better than Halloween in my top 5 best JC Films
This is just wicked. Well done 🤙
jaaaaaaaaa hahahah love it! the intro and utro mindblowing!! hah i could watch this stuff all the time
Dude, I love your videos, thank you!
Was one of my first horror movies I got to go see. Made a trip out west in ‘19 and made to Pt Reyes. Unfortunately wasn’t able to get to the lighthouse as it was being renovated. Great video.
Fantastic!
Oh, audio commentaries, most definitely.
So good haha. You basically do what I do, only better. I need a camera man lol. My new favorite channel.
I've done a 180 on The Fog, it used to be one of my most hated carpenter movies but now Ive turned a corner on it.
That intro is gold dude! hahaha
The original fog was a creepy movie but was good
Wow! Great film and had no idea it was filmed so close to where i am!
It's about damn time
It's not a 'stage' Sean... It's a church in spite of them selling out... that means it's an 'altar'. In spite of this (and your beach shorts), great vid ;)
Yeah OK bro
Suggestion: all Horror's Hallowed Grounds videos description should list all the addresses referenced in the video.

Literally?
Love this series bro, subscribed! Just wondering, what is the song you used for the intro?
Not My Problem by The Heathens
Really cool hoodie! What brand is that? I want one
Got this in blue ray, can't find the 2005 version anywhere, Mary Grace was in that version
That is not Stinson Beach. That long stretch is called Pt. Reyes Beach. Stinson Beach south of Pt. Reyes. They did show in the opening credits Stinson Beach but the lighthouse in not near it.
Robert rusler is awesome! Wish he'd come up to seattles crypticon.
You know, I’ve never seen this movie or the thing. I want to. Just never had had the chance.
What never seen the fog or the thing?
THE THING is an absolute must. There is a prequel to that now out as well.

big fan
What a great intro haha
That intro had me laughing my butt off
Adrianne Barbeau - Jamie lee Curtis - Nancy Loomis. 😎 lol Awesomeness!! ✊👊🍁
Nice intro man
Anybody know what type of pocket watch that is?
It's been over 10 years and he still hasn't done Nightmare 2, wouldn't be funny if he did, and Robert shows up late right after they filmed everything, man that would really piss him off.
Did you do the location for phantasm?
I haven't done it as a video episode but I did do it as a written article with photos in HorrorHound Magazine.
Can somebody please tell me what a "stomach pounder" is 🤔
Look for the Lion's head on the rock to find the location of the coin
Sean's great at these videos the fog was an amazing film 🎥 it's a shame they never did a sequel, they did a remake it was not that good 😮as it wasn't John carpenter not a bad attempt though
ALL hoodie
it would have been funny if you picked up Robert rusler hitchhiking and he didn't shut up about NOES 2.
The fog John Carpenter was the best xxx hate remakes
Why don't you just do A Nightmare on Elm Street 2 already?!
Hook I mean Robert is so nasty. Daggers!
