We don't actually see anyone's reaction after the initial shock, because showing everyone happy after would make it obvious. However judging by how calm Rantaro was even though he knew what was going on implies that at least he didn't mind. Most people were also calm after the Monokubs stepped out of the exisals too

It is there to inflict a feeling of despair in anyone who cares about grammar. It's nagging at the back of your mind, constantly. "Did it have a deeper meaning? Did I miss something, was I the stupid one for thinking it a typo?" Only to discover that all your theories were worthless in the end, that all of it was made up, even the grammar! Maybe those tapes are actually fake, if you check the prologue you'll notice that Kaede and the others were kidnapped, seemingly against their will. That doesn't sound like what Danganronpa fans would want if they were genuinely participating of their own free will. If they were, there wouldn't be any need for the kidnappings. This is all before the Flashback Lights came into the story.
My theory is... ... the reason they were given new uniforms is to make them "fictional", so that the mastermind can cosplay them. I can't explain it much more detailed because english is not first language so I'm sorry

SPOILERS FOR THE ENDING OF DRV3! okay, so, after watching this.. I think Tsumugi lied. A lot. You know how, because of the auditions tapes, people think that their personalities were the complete opposites of the ones that they have ingame? Well, right here, this video debunks that. You can see that with Miu at 15:07. If her personality was the opposite, then she would actually be very confident but appearing very shy, like another Mikan. Shy people don’t say that. And then Rantaro, he has the same personality. And Shuichi and Kaede. Plus, at the end, Tsumugi says that everyone volunteered to join, but what Kaede and Shuichi remember says otherwise. Actually- what everyone remembers says otherwise. They all recall being kidnapped, and they don’t say- or even think- a single thing about the killing game. when the monokubs actually reveal that they’re apart of the killing game, they’re confused, scared, and obviously didn’t have a choice in the situation- yet Tsumugi says that they were enthusiastic about it. Of course Tsumugi could easily lie about this because it seems they don’t remember at all what happened in the prologue. Judging off of this, it would probably be safe to say that team danganronpa kidnapped regular people and forced them to participate in the game- just how pre-game kaede remembers it. And, if they didn’t go there by choice, then why do the audition tapes exist? They exist because Tsumugi cosplayed as them to make them. We see how Tsumugi’s cosplaying skills are truly amazing throughout chapter 6, but you’re probably thinking, “How? Tsumugi has cospox.” And to that, I say she may, but I personally think she doesn’t. It’d be very easy for Tsumugi to just switch to herself with pink skin right in the moment, like how she switches between the characters from dr1 and dr2 while talking in the 6th trial. I think the entire reason she faked cospox was for that moment, for her to tell them they’re all fiction, so they can despair, and use that despair as a stepping stone for hope, like the audience wants. So, what I can deduce from this is that they may be just partly fiction. Like their ultimate talents are fiction- they may just be something they were sort of good at before then was exaggerated for the show, but their personalities and names aren’t fiction. And as for the last few games being fiction, I don’t really want to believe they were fiction, but I have really no evidence to support that they weren’t fiction. So, I (don’t want to, but do) believe that the last two games were- maybe not, completely fiction, but I don’t believe v3 is fiction. Or at least, completely fiction.

This godamn prologue man. I've been rewatching it over and over again to try and figure out what the hell is going on and I still have no clue. There is one thing that *did* stick out to me though. Why the hell did they did they let Rantaro keep his memory while everyone else has no idea about what is happening, only for it to be erased anyway? People have already pointed out how it's weird that no one recognizes him and the counter for that would be that it's because everyone's memories have already been erased but why was Rantaro the exception then? I feel like this is proof that none of the student's memories have been tampered with- which means the tapes must definitely be fake. Danganronpa isn't a popular and well known franchise in this world, otherwise everyone would've immediately recognized him, the Monokubs and the concept of 16 students being stuck inside a school. You can't counter that with the chapter 6 scene where everyone is happy about getting accepted either, since that's where they've already been exposed to the flashback light (wearing the Ultimate clothes instead of regular school uniforms) *but* I still feel like they know at least something about Danganronpa. Something about Kaede's dialogue regarding the Monokubs seems like she knows at least a little bit about the killing games. Tsumugi's last few lines were interesting too. "My plan was such a flawless *copy* , it even failed right at the end..." "So I should be able to hold my head up high as a *cosplaycat criminal* , right?" Why copy? Why refer to a sequel as a copy? It sounds more like a fan trying to imitate the first few killing games than a staff working on the next big show for a popular franchise. Also, why a criminal if the game is supposed to be widely accepted and even encouraged? Might update this and come to some kind of conclusion later idk. To be honest, I still don't get any of it but I felt like these few points were worth mentioning
additionally, the students' mode of transportation was erased as they have no idea how they ended up in the school. they just...came there if anyone here was a kyoko archetype, that would be given all the attention in the world instead of ignored
Oh wait... Turns out there actually *was* a Kyoko archetype. The detective feeling like they had been present somewhere before in fact did happen again. Shuichi, simply, he was the only one who felt like he had been present before the personality switch.

Such technology can download volumes of knowledge and experience into a person, condensing years or even decades of learning into a single moment. This could render people into simple hard drives that can be filled with whatever the technology owner wants or needs. What's scary is that a person's entire personality can be erased at the touch of a button.

Before the characters got their *first "memories"* and their personalities has changed, they were *regular high school students with their real personalities.* Before Shuichi became the *ultimate detective,* he was a huge fan of danganronpa who wanted to participate in the killing game. He even planned his own execution. Before kaede became the *ultimate pianist,* she was a person who have problem with trusting other people/don't have faith in humanity. and before Kaito became the *ultimate astronaut,* was a person who wanted fame fortune and he said that he's "gonna kill and everybody and win!". My guess is that Before Kokichi got his *first "memories"* and his personality has changed, he was a shy, timid and kind person, a pure cinnamon roll who was bullied. That's why Kokichi was different in the prologue before he got his *first "memories".*

SPOILERS FOR THE ENDING OF DRV3!
okay, so, after watching this.. I think Tsumugi lied. A lot.
You know how, because of the auditions tapes, people think that their personalities were the complete opposites of the ones that they have ingame?
Well, right here, this video debunks that. You can see that with Miu at 15:07. If her personality was the opposite, then she would actually be very confident but appearing very shy, like another Mikan. Shy people don’t say that. And then Rantaro, he has the same personality. And Shuichi and Kaede.
Plus, at the end, Tsumugi says that everyone volunteered to join, but what Kaede and Shuichi remember says otherwise. Actually- what everyone remembers says otherwise. They all recall being kidnapped, and they don’t say- or even think- a single thing about the killing game. when the monokubs actually reveal that they’re apart of the killing game, they’re confused, scared, and obviously didn’t have a choice in the situation- yet Tsumugi says that they were enthusiastic about it. Of course Tsumugi could easily lie about this because it seems they don’t remember at all what happened in the prologue. Judging off of this, it would probably be safe to say that team danganronpa kidnapped regular people and forced them to participate in the game- just how pre-game kaede remembers it.
And, if they didn’t go there by choice, then why do the audition tapes exist?
They exist because Tsumugi cosplayed as them to make them. We see how Tsumugi’s cosplaying skills are truly amazing throughout chapter 6, but you’re probably thinking, “How? Tsumugi has cospox.”
And to that, I say she may, but I personally think she doesn’t. It’d be very easy for Tsumugi to just switch to herself with pink skin right in the moment, like how she switches between the characters from dr1 and dr2 while talking in the 6th trial. I think the entire reason she faked cospox was for that moment, for her to tell them they’re all fiction, so they can despair, and use that despair as a stepping stone for hope, like the audience wants.
So, what I can deduce from this is that they may be just partly fiction. Like their ultimate talents are fiction- they may just be something they were sort of good at before then was exaggerated for the show, but their personalities and names aren’t fiction. And as for the last few games being fiction, I don’t really want to believe they were fiction, but I have really no evidence to support that they weren’t fiction. So, I (don’t want to, but do) believe that the last two games were- maybe not, completely fiction, but I don’t believe v3 is fiction. Or at least, completely fiction.

This godamn prologue man. I've been rewatching it over and over again to try and figure out what the hell is going on and I still have no clue.
There is one thing that *did* stick out to me though.
Why the hell did they did they let Rantaro keep his memory while everyone else has no idea about what is happening, only for it to be erased anyway?
People have already pointed out how it's weird that no one recognizes him and the counter for that would be that it's because everyone's memories have already been erased but why was Rantaro the exception then?
I feel like this is proof that none of the student's memories have been tampered with- which means the tapes must definitely be fake.
Danganronpa isn't a popular and well known franchise in this world, otherwise everyone would've immediately recognized him, the Monokubs and the concept of 16 students being stuck inside a school.
You can't counter that with the chapter 6 scene where everyone is happy about getting accepted either, since that's where they've already been exposed to the flashback light (wearing the Ultimate clothes instead of regular school uniforms)
*but* I still feel like they know at least something about Danganronpa. Something about Kaede's dialogue regarding the Monokubs seems like she knows at least a little bit about the killing games.
Tsumugi's last few lines were interesting too.
"My plan was such a flawless *copy* , it even failed right at the end..."
"So I should be able to hold my head up high as a *cosplaycat criminal* , right?"
Why copy? Why refer to a sequel as a copy? It sounds more like a fan trying to imitate the first few killing games than a staff working on the next big show for a popular franchise. Also, why a criminal if the game is supposed to be widely accepted and even encouraged?
Might update this and come to some kind of conclusion later idk. To be honest, I still don't get any of it but I felt like these few points were worth mentioning

Before the characters got their *first "memories"* and their personalities has changed, they were *regular high school students with their real personalities.*
Before Shuichi became the *ultimate detective,* he was a huge fan of danganronpa who wanted to participate in the killing game. He even planned his own execution.
Before kaede became the *ultimate pianist,* she was a person who have problem with trusting other people/don't have faith in humanity. and before Kaito became the *ultimate astronaut,* was a person who wanted fame fortune and he said that he's "gonna kill and everybody and win!".
My guess is that Before Kokichi got his *first "memories"* and his personality has changed, he was a shy, timid and kind person, a pure cinnamon roll who was bullied.
That's why Kokichi was different in the prologue before he got his *first "memories".*
