@@fangirl32 I'm one of those who love his character and what he provides. Even though he wasn't the mastermind, he was the antagonist. I personally feel like there is two aspects to villains that make them good. If the story wants you to hate the villain and you do. Then the villain did a good job. Or if the villain has motives and ideals you can agree with, than the villain did a good job. Kokichi manages to fit into both perfectly.

Kokichi & Nagito are tied for my two favourite characters in the series & i stand by it. They give off the same vibe & I love them both

Nagito was first for a while but was overtaken by Hajime due to how he treated Hajime in Chapter 4 cause I honestly felt personally attacked by him

@@omnibeta1876 It would definitely have to do with her just being a fly in the wall until the reveal that everyone was living a lie. Because of that reveal, she wasn't a character anymore. She was a concept.
I actually like Makoto, and find that his ordinary nature works to his advantage. While he doesn't have a talent apart from extraordinary luck, he has other admirable qualities, particularly his kind heart, his intelligence and his refusal to give up in the face of despair, all of which make him an asset to his classmates in the killing game. It really goes to support one of the themes of the Hope's Peak Saga- that talent isn't everything.
I think Hajime is more average than Makoto.
Makoto's very kind, nice and patient. The dude's super nice.
Hajime's personality is slightly more relatable, sometimes, he gets cranky, is mean or snaps at people.

This might just be me but Chiaki was SUPER boring to me :/ no flaws whatsoever except her sleepiness and that’s barely a fucking flaw. She’s cute an’ shut but. If you argue saying Kyoko was the same. She was not like Kyoko cause Kyoko DID have flaws, Kyoko had trust issues, wasn’t able to communicate well, etc.. Chiaki however was just boring, she was nice, she was smart, she was cute, and so on.. She’s good morally, but terrible as an actual character. However she IS just a computer program. Ngl, the way she really, REALLY resembled Kyoko in class trials made me think she was important and soon made me realize, she’s probably the traitor. If it were Nagito, it’d be to easy. I don’t get how she’s “best girl” when she barely has a fuckin’ personality! I get how Ibuki is best girl to some and/or Akane, but I’m sorry.. Chiaki doesn’t have a personality! No flaws! None at all!! She doesn’t even have any pizazz to her she’s just boring! Ok, done with the rant. Truly sorry for those who like Chiaki, but I’m sick and tired of people calling her a good character.

I personally might put Teruteru in C, but that’s because I felt bad about the whole mom situation. That really struck a chord for me. A hard working sick mother at home alone, and if not tempted by Nagito, I don’t think he would’ve killed. But at the same time, I’d refuse to put him higher because he was a sick freak. He was messed up.
Honestly i hate teruteru, they could have done more to make him a more likeable character and I feel like if he wasnt perverted he could have been a WAYYY better character. Also i don't get why he chose to try and K1LL nagito he could have just said "AYO this guy is crazy and will k1ll someone, tie him or sum", Tbh Teruteru could have been a way better character if it werent for all that

I feel like you should’ve put Kiibo higher, he was such a good character and he just wanted to fit in like everyone else. His whole ahoge and inner voice thing also made him even better. He even sacrificed himself at the end to save his friends. All he wanted was to understand human emotions, and his little smile at the end when he saw that his friends were okay was just so heart warming. I would’ve put Kiibo in either SS or S, but I do respect your opinion.

I unironically like Hagakure. I’m not gonna defend his unsavory acts, but I don’t think he’s a completely terrible person either. The fact he tried to take the reigns after Ishimaru went catatonic sticks out to me.

The girl you couldn’t remember from the anime was Sato, she killed Natsumi (Fuyuhiko’s sister) because she bullied Mahiru and I think plotted to kill her or at least do something to get her booted out of her class so she could take her spot and be with her brother. She gets killed by Fuyuhiko days later which was mentioned in game and in the anime.

Kokichi really is the ultimate supreme leader. He keeps treating people like shit, but people just love him. Someone with that charisma stands out.
The thing is, I'm pretty sure if you were placed with him in the game, you would not like him as much. He's fun and likeable to watch from a detached point of view, but there is a reason why DRV3 cast did not like him as much as the fandom does.

One thing I'll give SOnia is that while she doesnt have huge relevance in the story, she is actually one of the bigger contributors during trials as if I recall you agree with her the most in nonstop debates. So while not as helpful as Hajime, Chiaki, or Nagito, she does help out a lot.
The biggest problem with dr 2 is that pretty much no one aside from a small group contributed to trials which caused trials to take literally forever cough cough kazuichi interrupting the trial every fucking 5 seconds and talking about something off topic

Kokichi definitely carried the game for me. I just kept guessing all the time. What is his goal? Is he really evil? Did he secretly pull the strings throughout the game? There wasn't a moment when I didn't think about him. Honestly he was the best antagonist/rival out of the series.

Kokichi was just a liar, but infact he was nice, it was just hidden in a web of lies. Kokichi was more or less scared, like everybody else, at least that's my perception of his character. Komaeda was just...insane, sry, no offense. He didn't care about his life, he didn't care about the others, imo he was a potential threat through out the whole game

Man, Korekiyo had so much potential to be a great character and they just threw him away. Instead of the incest subplot, they could have explored him coming to terms with how his sister was abusive and learning to move past that, ultimately choosing to live for himself rather than for her.

But, he is still my favourite. because i see the potential and ideas beyond what the canon gives us. it's seeing the apple farm for the money, not the apples.

To be honest, in my opinion I'd say that Kokichi is the best character in the entire game's series as a whole.
At the very beginning when you meet him, you literally lose ALL trust in him. The moment he pops up he he starts spitting lies left and right. You can't just ignore him either, because he's smart as FUCK, and shows that he's not just spewing horseshit that has nothing to do with the case at hand. Because of that, and the combination of him always acting like he was fucking with you puts the player in a loop.

Who the hell knows? In other words his character DEMANDS attention from the player and it does it so well because of his relevance and his antagonistic nature.
Because of a person's natural desire to make sense of things, people are going to not trust his words, but rather, what his actions are. But because of his intelligence, they're not going to completely disregard what he says, because he COULD be helping you. Or is he? You don't know.

That's what makes him so fucking interesting. He was unpredictable. And his end. OOOOH... His end was *perfect* for him. It just highlighted his entire shtick. Like his character, it gave the player a question, and the player, and the protagonist had to sort this out in their head

It worked really well with a game like this too, because the truth is so valuable in mystery games. Especially if it's a case about something you never saw. You have to rely on what other people say and look for contradictions. So because Kokichi being a character, not only does it make it the game feel more refreshing, it makes it more unpredictable, because not only are you watching out for the possible killer and contridictions, you're watching out for Kokichi because of the sheer attention he just naturally pulls in. It's why I enjoyed him, and I believe that's why he worked in this setting.

the.real.denki.kaminari Nagito honestly is one of the most well made, if not *the* most well made, Danganronpa character. Him and Kokichi have to be the two most interesting characters in the series. I personally think he deserves the SS tier, since he has such detail put into his backstory and personality, but I understand that it’s Nico’s opinion.

Seeing the whole V3 Trio in the very top rank makes me unbelievably happy. The way their relationship was developed is some of the best character writing in Danganronpa. Plus Kokichi, that makes basically the 4 main characters of V3 take the top spots. Ahh, I love V3 getting the worship it deserves. And don’t even get me started on Kokichi.
hajime is ss teir. nobody can change my mind. His character arc, his personality, his relationships, everything was amazing. He deserves more love I swear. Its so much fun to see dr2 through his perspective, and I love the ending scene where he genuinely considers screwing everyone over because he's scared. He's basically the only protagonist to ever actually consider things without thinking about everyone else before himself, which makes him pretty unique. His kamakura arc was interesting and I think his decision to change himself because to be more important than he was, even after he's told by Chiaki that he's perfect the way he is, is a much more genuine decision than any other in the series. Out of all the protagonists he feels the most human. He makes selfish decisions and doubts what others say about him just like anyone would. And at the finale of Hope arc, when he imagines Chiaki talking to him because he misses her hits hard. He has better writing than anyone in the series (except maybe Juzo) and he never gets the love he deserves.

I feel like saying Kaede is 'perfect' isn't correct she clearly has her flaws as Nico mentioned, I think people get this idea that she's perfect becuase she's just a really good person, almost super hero-esque. If Kaede were to stay the protagonist in V3 I would have wrote her like a superhero particaluarly Spider-Man. Instead of building up her character and making her stronger like Shuichi, you do the opposite make her weaker. As more and more people die, have the burdern of responsible weigh on her, make her have doubts about her own morality and beilefs. Should they kill the mastermind? Do the Blackends derve to die? This would play into the twist in the end. Kaede believes in the good in people and hummanity, but finds out the world supports killing games, that she supported killing games. Then in the end have her stick to her beliefs, and believe that hummanity can be good, and can be better. One big notable character flaw is Kaede is that she is strong. She trys so hard to be strong for other people. There are many scenes where she'll act fine in front of the other students, then go cry behind their backs. This flaw leads to her cannon death. If I were to make Kaede a protagonist I would make Kaede become more vunerable, allow her to lean on others particularly Shuichi. Kaede supports Shuichi in the begining of the game, and by the end it's Shuichi supporting Kaede. I've been thinking about this stuff for a long time and I really think I've given the chance Kaede could have been a great as the protagonist of V3.

I like the antagonists better, because they have the better lines and some surprisingly gets along with the protagonists (ex. Togami, nagito[for the first part of the game.]). Kaede is a good character too tho and I wish she could stay around longer, but she hope no faith in humanity, she said so in her tape.

Hey Nico. You'll probably never see this, but I kinda wanted to clear up 'super saiyan' Ishimaru for you.
So, in the beginning of DR1, Ishimaru is trying to be the 'support pillar' of the group. This is due to his upstanding, authoritarian character and role as the ultimate morals person (can't remember his canon title). Because of this, however, he clashes with many members of the class (such as Mondo and Byakuya) who refuse to abide by him. As the quote-unquote leader of the group, he then feels pressured to keep them all safe (at least, in my thoughts) and is struggling with his own morals in what is becoming a twisted world inside the school.
Fast forward to Daily life case 2. Ishimaru finds comradeship with Mondo, whom he had previously disagreed with. Finding a true friend in the madness, especially after the deaths of sayaka and Mr 11037, allows him to feel more positive regarding the situation, and because of said circumstances he latches onto this bond. When Mondo is eventually ousted as the culprit of case 2, he loses his greatest friend among the tragedies that are occurring. Because of Mondo's death, and the pressures of his failures to keep everyone safe in his role of upholding the law, Ishimaru ends up emotionally compromised and remains that way until meeting Alter Mondo. After the shock of hearing said dead friend speak to him once more, he becomes Ishimondo (or 'me' as he calls himself).
Now, this is probably one of the most impactful parts of the game for me (right alongside naegi's execution, and byakuya's withdrawal from the game), because of said transformation. I don't think that anything actually happened, such as Ishimaru physically taking on the spirit of Mondo, or such (this isn't corpse party, after all), but rather something darker.
From this moment, Ishimaru goes insane. This change into 'Ishimondo' signifies that he has lost all semblance of what's going on, and thinks that he is a different person entirely.
I don't know, maybe this doesn't have as much impact on you as it did on me, but the idea of this individual who you've become well acquainted with just... snaps and goes insane, it feels really real to me personally, so I felt like clarifying it.

Him and Mondo were so gay for eachother, and then there was just little Fujisaki who followed them around. The three of them were so cute.
I think that there's a lot of character development in Taka that definitely goes unnoticed. They for sure packed a lot into three chapters for one character, yet people constantly ask for more of him. Like I get it because he was husbando and I hated how wasteful chapter 3 was in general (Celeste) but he really didn't need any more fleshing out at that point. I think it would've been nice to see him use his moral compass talent to push through the depressive phase and super saiyan phase and become a survivor that way, using his newfound strength to push the group forward (Instead of hagakure who fails at this miserably) and unify the students. He could've been like a rock for them. I can definitely see the reasoning behind why they chose to kill him off though.

don't forget; one time when you hang out with ishumaru he reveals that his grandfather was once prime minister and was a disgrace to the family, and he feels offended when he is compared to his (now dead bc apocalypse) grandfather, and the creators described if ishumaru was executed he would be on the roof of those cars (you know what I'm talking about) flowers in hand and forced to wave because he's strapped like a doll at the monokuma-citesins (how do I spell) that are holding up '' Welcome prime minister!:3 " signs and monokuma would be a sniper and shoot him in the heart, you can prolly see the symbolism here

I have a love for Akane Owari. Mostly because her childhood reminds me a lot of how my dad’s childhood was. Very poor and shitty jobs but he worked hard to get where he is today. Akane is one of my faves for that reason.
