Call it luck, call it fate, call it coincidence...life has many of these small moments that lead us along different paths. We would love to hear your stories too. How has 'fate' shaped your life?
I was always moved by Alex's missed bus story but didn't realise there's so much more to this! Thanks for sharing all these, Alex and Emma. You guys have been an inspiration to leaving my corporate job to moving to Port Barton! Didn't get to closely follow your story after Thailand but got back to watching during your recent Italy series. Really impressed with the upgrades in production: drone shots, voice overs, and video quality without losing that light-hearted sincerity that we all love. Thank you, a lifetime subscriber here. 🍻
Man someone kept cutting onions while I was trying to watch this! Hard to see the video when your eyes are constantly watery! Seriously this was criminally cute
I don't really have words for what you guys offer us here. it is so... personnal yet universal. You dare to do this and sort of expose yourself, but it is such a real and beautiful story, the story of your lives until now. With bumps and whatnot. But that makes it so much ... human. Like every one of us. You are no doubt the best travellers channel I ever saw. Because even when you "produce" a video, it still has that real grit to it, that you, and only you are able to pass on to us. Much respect and love
Thirty years a truck driver & twenty years in Europe I've learned a thing or two a long the way..I have learned the hard way the good & bad aspects of driving a truck through countries totally unknown to me...arrested & detained in many foreign jails refusing to pay exorbitant fines..the further you go off the beaten track the more alien the adventure .. I can always give advice about driving safely throughout many countries..even my encounter in Gorski Station.. Good Luck & stay safe.. Martin
I took a bus trip from Bangkok to Chiang Mai many years ago. The bus driver clearly had aspirations of becoming the next Michael Schumacher as he drove like a wild man all through the mountain passes. Wouldn't be surprised to learn that he was the driver of the off-the-cliff bus.
Love the story. This is the kind of story few of us have. Best of luck to both of you. And while I don’t know either of you beyond some assumptions based on the videos, I’ll go on a limb and tell you that if don’t know by now how lucky and fortunate you are for each other then you’ll never know!!!
Glad I found this video! I'm just getting start on your Great Videos! This video answered many questions and I can't wait until y'all turn this into a full length Movie!!
I love this. Perfectly edited. I’m excited for this series. It’s just another version of a travel story and, like a handful of your viewers I’m sure, I am very interested to know how full time travellers became full time travellers.
Love your story and you are filming and telling it well. I think all of us here are hooked. I know that travel bug well, when it itches you just have to scratch it. When my best friend and I finished 2 yrs. of college we then jumped in the car for the Summer and went from Southern California to Alaska and back...we had a blast. Can't wait to hear more stories from you two. Cheers!
Very good story telling guys. Lovely story of how your met. Definitely think the universe wanted you to be together. Looking forward to the next instalment.
Great video guys. Even though I have watched your earlier videos and knew the basic story. It was great seeing the childhood pictures and some bits of information that I forgot or wasn't in them. Looking forward to more of this series.
I can't imagine what Emma would sound like with an Oklahoma accent! That's not "just" an American accent that must have been a southern/country drawl! Fantastic video guys!
The adage that truth can be stranger than fiction...this turns it on its head. I was so swept up in this I almost forgot to wipe my eyes. Anyone not believing in fate or destiny after watching, you are not human.
Wow great video and crazy story! I'm glad you guys were fated to find each other and travel the world! I had one of those fate moments in 2018... I graduated college in the US and was set on working in Canada, Ireland or South Korea- I needed to travel!!! But my dad died a month later so I stuck around to grieve and be with my mom. I had zero intentions of being a farmer, but that summer I worked at a small farm and found my life's passion is farming. One of my college friends also turned into the love of my life that summer. We married now! Out of a tragic death, rose many things that have brought me so much love and life. What is life.
This is so beautiful and soo inspiriting. and it really shows how the universe works and how the law of attraction works.. also with me randomly finding this video and channel. New subscriber! looking forward to follow you guys..
Honestly was surprised you held Ricky Gervais is such high regard. You are much cooler and more pleasant and I would argue more intelligent than he is. Don’t go changing. You’re great as is on your current path of growth.
Fantastic story. A real modern romance. You should write your novel. It would be a great book ❤️ to you both and thank you for your vids. They really have helped me to get through lockdown Take care both ❤️
Love it! You honestly had the balls to do what the rest of Are to worried to do. Quit a job and walk away to follow your hearts. Btw Emma where did you used to model at? I can’t see a talent scout walking by you!!!!
I know what you mean. My husband and I have a very strange story, but we were just 9 years old (each one) but it is a long story. He had an accident and my dad (who was a pediatrician) literally saved his legs. And the story continues. We didn't meet until we were 18 years old. And it gets more and more trange. Excellent video guys. 🤗
I think you should have a movie of each of your life and how you met. Great story! By the way the movie should be called "Right or Left ".... Good to get to know you. Terry
What a great blog! Crazy story how you got to know each other and what you had to deal with. Also: Emma, you are a stunner and Alex, you are a bloody fine mate as well!
Nice story. I travelled SE Asia for a year with my gf but when it came to an end, we didn't know how to return to reality and unfortunately we broke up. Now, I can't wait to get back out travelling and vlogging this time. I'm way behind you guys but wish me luck :)
I love hearing about how you two met and how this lifestyle all came to be! So interesting! That's why I've always told my kids to follow their dreams - it's caused quite a few discussions between my hubs and I. Needless to say he doesn't quite see things the same as I do 😀
Wait?! You had separate lives before becoming Travel Beans? Now I'm even more curious! Alex, last week I was amazed by the story about the coin and the bus. I've heard that notion about the coin flip before. Its not so much leaving big decisions to a 50/50 chance. Its that whilst the coin is in the air, what are you most hoping for, or against. This week, I am even more amazed by what it was that bound you together through the rough times at the start of your relationship. With hindsight we know it was a great coice. But, what was so valuable to you both at the start that held your interest even when time had not yet been invested? Great start to the series Beans. I appreciate the trip down memory lane whilst so many other roads are closed today.
Thank you Dan 🙏 and yes, we also wondered how on earth we kept coming back together during this time.. I couldn't tell you exactly as I feel in any other situation, with any other person I doubt I would have given it so many tries. It's weird but I'm grateful 😊
Brings back memories of my first night in Bangkok after I had decided to live in Thailand. Scary stuff. All I could think is "what the hell have I done". Turned out to be one of my best decisions ever.
Normally I would find this kind of introspective autobiography self-indulgent and oh so narcissistic, however..I find y'all so charming that I really enjoyed knowing where each of you were coming from....as people. Prob'ly no more or less neurotic than the rest of us. I'm late in seeing this story, so it's weird vis a vis the dynamic, never ending time created by our digital existence. A weird medium is what I'm saying, and the medium is, after all and as Marshal MacLuhan taught us, the message. I can see you good work coming through in t his Alex.
I always heard you lived in the US but I didn’t know its in my state! If you don’t mind, where did you like in Oklahoma? I was born and raised in Lawton and then moved to OKC.
first watched your van troubles vids and the west downs ones, ended up here, such a sweet story about meeting, good luck to you both and keep enjoying your life together. Love the relaxed style of your stories. Ironic that everyone is trying to sound American on youtube, and you lost your accent :)
Call it luck, call it fate, call it coincidence...life has many of these small moments that lead us along different paths. We would love to hear your stories too. How has 'fate' shaped your life?
I’m so glad it worked out. You guys are great together and the banter beats every other travel channel on UA-cam.
This is the first travel channel I have watched on UA-cam and I am glad because it is absolutely perfect!
I was always moved by Alex's missed bus story but didn't realise there's so much more to this! Thanks for sharing all these, Alex and Emma. I've always wanted to know where your UA-cam name came from! - loved this story so much, looking forward to more of this series!
Man someone kept cutting onions while I was trying to watch this! Hard to see the video when your eyes are constantly watery!
Seriously this was criminally cute
Aw haha thank you.. 💛
This story is absolutely brilliant, I'm hooked. Favorite travel vloggers ever.
Aw thank you James! 🙏
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaahaha “like many of you, I started life as a child and went from there”
😂❤️
I don't really have words for what you guys offer us here.

Wow....it was so great that you both first met each other in Thailand.
The adage that truth can be stranger than fiction...this turns it on its head. I was so swept up in this I almost forgot to wipe my eyes. Anyone not believing in fate or destiny after watching, you are not human.

You two are great together, what a nice love story💕 you were destined for each other. So glad you didn’t take that bus, Alex.

When the video ended, our three year old said "Where is BEANS OUT?" I guess you've set a precedence.
