During concerts they use a looping pedal and distortion on their electric cellos. Some songs are accompanied by drums and their album Score was played with orchestra. Some of their best work is done with only a looping pedal to be able to play more parts on a song, but it is all done live. Nothing is prerecorded. The breadth of their music choice combined with their energy and very high quality musicianship makes them uniquely wonderful. Apocalyptica came before them and plenty of string cross-over groups have followed, but 2Cellos talent and energy is unrivalled.
These two gentlemen Stejpan Hauser and Luka Sulić are right now on their last concert tour of the world together for the last time as the group 2CELLOS! They are both superb cellists! Luka is from Serbia and Hauser as he prefers to be known is from Croatia. They are fantastic! They have many live performances on their UA-cam channel. Please react to more of them!!!! Go to one of their last live concerts in person if at all possible!!!! Bravo!!!!
Stjepan Hauser does not prefere to be known as Croatian, he IS a Croatian, Luka is From Slovenia, born to a Slovenian mother and a Croatian father. Born and raised in Slovenia. They, themselves, don't label themselves, only media and other people do that for some purpose. And, please, do your homework.
Love your reaction to the 2CELLOS playing Thunderstruck. The fact that you are an Italian violinist, makes it extra special. Thank you very much for your wonderful and honest reaction! Love from Canada.
Great reaction video. In the live concerts they also use electric cellos and have Dusan Kranjc on drums. I saw them in Greenwich, London a few years ago and it was an outstanding live performance.
@@Fema_99 They have several live videos of them playing it live(search UA-cam). VERY good concerts. Go see them if you get a chance. You will be entertained.
@@Fema_99 better hurry. They are billing this as their last tour and I think they will be in Europe as soon as they leave the US, sometime this summer.
U mean u haven't heard thunderstruck before? Or just this version? Cause if u haven't heard the original u should check it out cause that's what makes this so good
I keep seeing in my mind these two doing this before a serious Orchestra practice and the fastidious conductor or instructor approaching hearing this sound emanating from the hall and what he is thinking as he enters the room.
They don't label themselves natioally. True, they met in Zagreb, Croatia, Stjepan Croatian, Luka, from Slovenia, with Croatian father and Slovenian mother.
I have seen them play electric cellos in other videos & I believe they used electric cellos to record the audio for this piece & classic cellos for video.
This is a great introduction, but to really hear the versatility of 2 Cellos combined with guitar pedals, you should watch the live performance of their version of Voodoo People (this track introduces the audience to the second half of the live set with a drummer).
There's definitely a 3rd part playing at one point - when 1 of the guys is bashing the back of his cello like a drum, and the other is hitting bass notes, there's a higher 3rd backing part playing, but nevertheless it doesn't take away from their playing ability at all, incredible piece
New Sub!! I'm late to the party, but I made it!! If you happen to see this, I wonder if you ever listen to "Bluegrass" Music? You seemed to know "Thunderstruck", so I thought you may like to react to Thunderstruck, but bluegrass style. Really Good!! The Group is "Steve'n'Seagulls" and are actually Scandinavian.
I love the 2CELLOS but I have to admit Hauser is my favorite. His solo career modern and classical are both amazing this one ua-cam.com/video/kn1gcjuhlhg/v-deo.html makes me cry at the end all the time. My mother have dementia and it's very painful to see her like that and I am listening Adagio to relax almost every nights. I just close my eyes and I'm gone.
Obviously it is a music video where you record music before and after you just act as if you play. But there are live concert videos if you would like to see how they play it live.
They are great. Even their live videos. But for me is their best video 2CELLOS on 1 cello! Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall - Coldplay: ua-cam.com/video/XleaVcy4he8/v-deo.html
If you liked this you'll love APOCALYPTICA. Four cellos (and now drums too). Their first album was only Metallica's songs without drums, then They have been making their own songs. I leave you the link for their cover of Metallica's BATTERY live ua-cam.com/video/aQWpmUmfeAA/v-deo.html Or if you prefer something mor classical, HALL OF THE MOUNTAIN KING (metal versión by APOCALYPTICA) ua-cam.com/video/zf2aIVKp1OY/v-deo.html 💕

Always a pleasure watching musicians react to this.
They are actually incredible live! Maybe even better!
Only a true master can use his instrument in conventional and unconventional ways to produce amazing music...

2CELLOS are not Italians, but Croatians. ;)
They are really good...

È bello vedere che anche gli italiani amino sentire la cover in versione classica

2cellos is a "band" from Croatia. Not Italy, if you meant their origin. They met in college in Zagreb. Then decided to make music
They don't label themselves natioally. True, they met in Zagreb, Croatia, Stjepan Croatian, Luka, from Slovenia, with Croatian father and Slovenian mother.
These guys actually opened for Elton John.
I could swear at some points in the song it sounds like there's at least three instruments playing.
