    Good catch.
    The 2022 International LT (Day cab) I was assigned has been shaking for a while now. Safety sent me to a tire shop where they took the balancing beads out of two of the drives and properly balanced them. That helped a bit but still had a shake or bad vibration every few seconds. Ended up being a driveshaft bearing... Still has a shake in the front left steer even after getting brand new steer tires n balancing etc.
    I'm going to mention what you suggested in the video... Thanks for sharing your knowledge and experience!

    My truck is vibrating on the right hand side but since I have 385, 65,225 they say it can’t be bounced which may not be the case anyway and my ABS keeps turning on the sensor so I guess the hub may be bent for not detecting the ABS speed sensor all the time😊

    Hello. So when u mention to have the notch on the hub at 12 o clock position before mounting the drum, do u then mount the drum in any simple way, or does the drum have a corresponding mark that should also be at the 12 o clock position?
    Thanks

    • @bustedknucklebydieseldr3228
      @bustedknucklebydieseldr3228  2 роки тому +1

      Great question and happy holidays. The drum won’t have any specific mounting marks. I just like the 12 o’clock position on the hub to be a great reference point with the drum itself I like to keep it perfectly centered within the stud holes and perfectly backed up to the hub seats. ( which are the slots that tend to get worn out in the video.). Hope that helps.

    I'm 7k deep in chasing a balance/ vibration issue down on a 2012 VNM VOLVO. new drives haft, 4 seals , front left and 3 on the rears. Balanced tires , new tires , 2 new drums on the rears. Brakes on the front , brakes rear. 2 new front tires. Everything checked. Hood shakes and steering wheel shakes at 57mph seems worse after an hour of driving. Any thoughts that this could be my issue ? I've owned it since August. Have not put 400 miles on it since owning. It's being re purposed for business but not trucking. Maybe 30k miles per year. Anyway while chasing this issue the cups and injectors went. So 8200 later 16k plus I'm back chasing this issue. Please man can you throw me any ideas or thinks to check. These shops see me coming and load the parts cannon up. Feels like tires need balanced. But we did all that before tires were replaced due to this. Basically new tires for no reason. All 8 in the back were 90% and the 2 front steers were new. BUT due to sitting 13 months and never driven and only started twice a month. Shops said tired would be bad and the seals. I did observe the balance being done and did not notice any wheel warped. One shop swapped the 4 duals from a known good truck to test and no change. Shop said at first my drive shaft was bent. And no it won't. But got me a nice Shiney new one all balanced up. New carrier bearing too.
    No change in balance or vibration issue when braking , no change decel or exel. Starts about 55 and worse between 57and 60. Used to clear up by 68 and higher but today I am noticing it getting worse and can tell somethings wrong at 70. Ride height was high as hell. That got corrected and no change. At this point I'll a new truck. It's got 650k miles. And well cared for till forgot about then sold after sitting for 13 months. You seem knowledgeable and experienced so im hoping for any advice. My email is Cable_22guy@hotmail.com. reply here as well and my email if you could. Just in case email goes to junk box. I'd definitely send good money for your assistance. Next is there any system for real world simulation for checking this , like a machine to put the truck on and run it up to speed like on a dyno ? So you can see what's going on. Also today was the first day I noticed my hook shaking up near the window and now I definitely feel it in my steering wheel. Miles ago maybe 200 it was visible passenger seat shaking good and thought of feeling in seat and could see the cups in the holders shaking. It's getting worse and I gear safety as a concern yet folks keep saying drive it till it breaks then you will know for sure. Anyway sorry for the long post. I'm sure you can tell I'm desperate.

      Man oh man I feel your pain. We have all been in your shoes when people dont listen and just throw parts instead of diagnosing the issue it’s such a burden. But I’m here for you and although I can’t work on it directly I will guide and direct you to hopefully some benefit
      First off a Dyno will be able to be your simulation like you spoke about and than they can see what’s vibrating.
      Second like a Dyno. They can put ur whole truck on Jack stands and run it saftly as well to find out where the issue is.
      Thirdly there is a machine called a vibration analyzer than they can attach to different ends of your truck. They would test drive it and it would detect where unusual vibrations are coming from.
      So three great methods will help determine the issue.
      From what it sounds like though. I would assume balance in the tires right off the bat. after that I’d be checking the wheel bearings in the front end, king pins , and basic suspension components. Drag link, tie rod , gearbox. Anything for excessive play.
      With this knowledge I would go to the dealer and tell them your issue and ask which option they will do for you. Hope that helps you man and let us know what they find.

      @@bustedknucklebydieseldr3228 wow I'm just seeing Your reply. Well I threw my hands in the air and gave up because work and truck rental was next. Now I'm off for 5 weeks and back searching the headache. I've recently purchased another volvo to get me through but thats another story. I do have an update. The issue only happens after I get 5 miles down the road or up to speed. So example if I pull out the interstate is 1 mile away so soon as I get on the highway and up to speed it's minor vibration. Get to the next exit 4 miles down and turn around and go 2 miles and boom its way worse at 57 mph then it was when I started out. I noticed one thing. See I'm handicapped and not loaded. Like you or most I bust my ass for every dollar earned. So I swapped 1 wheel 3 weeks ago with the other truck to test for bent wheel. No dice.... went to work in Florida and came home and was able to swap the driver side wheel. Again no dice BUT. The left side hub was harder to turn with my hand then the right was with the wheel off. The passenger side I could spin easier then the left. The left you felt what I assume is the brakes dragging. And I had that seal and brakes replaced 2 months ago. Should there be much resistance in the left side ? They did reuse the bearings I remember that. Idk man I'm mentally effed up over this and can't believe I'm letting it get to me so bad. But purchase price and add in the repares I'm 50k into it and all I am is a paperweight. And I have a perfect shop to take it too but 2.5 hours away and im worried about driving it. And I can't get screwed by the tow man. They charge 1200 last time. Anyway that's it. Thanks for all you do.

    I have a question, is it tell tale sign that my bearings is bad when one side oil is darker than the other? I get an in and out vibration around 65 to 70 and when I brake it vibrates at 35 to 32 and again at 25. Any idea what could be causing that? On the outer edges of my steer tire is eaten up pretty bad and my passenger side is worse with a few cupping as well. I recently had an alignment done. It seems as well that the truck dance from side to side sometime where I have to constantly correct it. It worst with a trailer on. I have a 2018 International LT625. It's driving me crazy to figure this out without it costing me an Armand leg. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    • @bustedknucklebydieseldr3228
      @bustedknucklebydieseldr3228  Рік тому

      That can be a sign of premature failure in your bearings also any shinyness in your oil. If your tires are eatn up than we Deff have a problem them. I would recommend getting an alignment from a place you trust than replace steer tires. Most times tires are out of round and or drums that will cause this issue. If you don’t mind dealer rates I have a good place you can try.

    Did this particular drum need replacement.. any warpage?
    I think this is the issue i have.. causing a shake that comes and goes, like every 15 seconds at 50-70+ mph.. cant seem to find the issue after different rims, tires and balancing methods.
    Now im ready to look into hubs and drums.

    • @bustedknucklebydieseldr3228
      @bustedknucklebydieseldr3228  2 роки тому

      Great question man. The best way to know if the drum needs to be replaced is to indeed check it for warpage with a dial indicator. Or, if a hub repair is made put back together and test it for vibration while driving or braking. I didn’t wanna go through that so once I know there was a failure he’s getting two new parts quick easy and most cost-effective with less labor. Hope that helps

      @bustedknucklebydieseldr3228  Рік тому

      @@Adamrossman thanks for reaching out. The good news is the clicking should be narrowed down fairly easy. The dealer should of had this resolved by now. With noises like that during turns the issue is almost always the leaf springs bushings or the ubolts holding down the leaf spring. I would say 90% of the time. I would not think it was hub related or you would hear it even during straight driving. Besides that I would than go to the cab mounts than drag links or gearbox. One of those will be your issue. Unfortunately there’s no way to send vids on here.
