    Heating aluminum wheel hub with torch will ease installation of cups .Not acceptable practice to hammer cup onto cup .Install 5/16-18 tap into battery powered drill and clean hubcap holes . Blow holes out with air . Install new bolts with anti-seize .Coat both side of hubcap gasket with anti-seize , gasket will remove easily in the future .

    There's a cartoon showing a caveman hammering a rock into a stone wheel. That's what you are if using a hammer and not using a press. Correct tool for the job and procedure makes for a reliable repair/replacement.
