    We hit Linda Vista skatepark so @AlBrunelle can break down the basics of How To Skate a Bowl, Mini Ramp, or any Transition. We cover How To Fs Grind, Carve Grind, Fakie Air, and Smith Grind on Bowls, Mini Ramps or any Transition.
    Let me know what you think! I thought Al explained the tricks good while not taking it to serious and having a good time.

    Anyone have any tips on how to get started skating transition? It looks so insanely fun im just not sure where exactly to start, i can pump and do low carves on pool walls but how do you get started grinding and doing slides in a pool or transition? Any tips would be HUGELY appreciated.

      Even tho he says to avoid it something that has helped me break that barrier is getting very comfortable just under the coping. pumping to fakie and kick turning
      Especially at bigger/more flowy parks you can keep taking it to bigger walls as you get more comfy and b4 u kno it u will get some accidental 5-0 bumps as u start going faster.
      Then I caught my self doing baby ass rock to fakies on accident as well.

    My problem is hanging up on the way back in, my wheels don't seem to wanna pop off/over the coping. Should I do a little shimmy bonk or shift my weight? How would you explain that part?

    • @ZackDowdy
      @ZackDowdy  5 років тому +3

      Good question, you talking about Smith grinds or Fs Grinds? Smith grinds I put more pressure on my back foot & tail of board to lift the front truck up more & then push the back truck into a 5-O position, so it's less locked in and more on top.. then to can shift your body weight back into transition while still putting most pressure on the back truck to sorta "push" your board into the transition without getting caught on your hanger.

    • @Onyxaxe
      @Onyxaxe 5 років тому +1

      @@ZackDowdy Anything really. It's my prob on all of it lol. I'll try to put more "oomph" into my back foot on the coping while guiding the board back in. The coping is pretty big where I skate.
      Thanks for responding! Thanks for the vid as well. Quick and to the point

    • @ZackDowdy
      @ZackDowdy  5 років тому +3

      @@Onyxaxe No prob! Only thing I could add without showing you is to almost "manual" off the copping without actually manual-lying down the transition, kind of like a firecracker of a curb.

    Learning to skate fat and 33... only ever got used to pushing and riding around, ollie's and shove its etc... not with style tho... I think at this age and having lived a gnarly life and bounced back... gives me the aggression and confidence in myself as well as not giving a fuck about anything but improving... only posers call beginners, posers... like they have someone finally worse around... if ur trying. Takin hits and repeating... and attack like ur a pro instead of limiting yourself to insecurity and fear. NOFX and Wu Tang or BIG L are my shit. Music helps.
