      I think it would be cool. Maybe even bring in more input for your friends ya skate with. Always cool having more perspectives to solve the same problem.

      This video has been one of my favorites Zack. There's not a lot of people talking about how to skate transition and I appreciate the time and quality you put into your videos. The list of beginner tricks to learn was also awesome! Perhaps you can also do that for progression of grinds,stalls, etc for each level.

    personal beginner list: (pump the ramps until you can reach the coping, drop in, rock to fakie, axel stall) and then the world is yours

      Then I’m halfway there. Got pumps, got drops on lock, have to rock fakie and stall. I’m currently working on board stall above coping, which is giving me roll out over coping and then I’ll be doing fly out.

    Great video Zack, I guess you're right about the ramp question. I feel like it's harder to learn on some crusty ramps or pools but when you go somewhere with smooth, well-built stuff, it's much easier to skate.

    Super helpful as always, thanks man! Tried a 13ft for the first time last night and your advice on moving slow on big transition was awesome. Also, love that you think 'pterodactyl' on frontside grinds :) Gotta try that!

    maybe a question for the next QA!?
    round tail vs squared tail. why is almost every bowl skater riding round tail? is their a big advantadge for bowl or is it just the all Terrain factor? you once said it is a big difference to approach air 's with s.t. . wich one is easyer to learn airs on? i have big feet and find s.t. way more comfortable but i guess skating shouldnt be about comfort ;) hearing your pros and cons would be super interesting!! Thanks in advance!!!

    Hi Zack. I am digging the content. Tell Al I said hi. I haven't seen him in Colorado for long while and it is cool to see he is still killing it.

    I like how dude put it don't go splat. I went splat right before ya took your break.
    Skated the other day it's weird having to roll and fall in a way you never really do as ya slowly apply pressure back on something that's injured. Fyi I dug the Q&A. Gotta try that heel cheat on the front 5-0.

    • @robertborden2666
      @robertborden2666 2 роки тому

      Splat means all the energy of you in motion comes to rest immediately on a hard surface. That’s where the breaks and bruises come from. Rolling out and sliding eat up the energy over a much larger distance and collection of different body parts so no one thing takes the brunt. Easier said than done sometimes but it’s the goal.

    Love this series of videos! Curious to your opinions on the Ideal Wheel for bowls/transition? I’m just learning and am currently riding a big setup- 10in Black Label w/64mm 97a wheels. I like that they keep speed and roll over any imperfections, but they do seem “sticky” and don’t slide well (Powell G-Bones). Are there any 60mm+ wheels you suggest?

    • @ZackDowdy
      @ZackDowdy  2 роки тому +1

      I think 56mm in size is good, I ride a bit harder wheels 99a because I like having some slide ability to get out of lip tricks.

    • @billfields990

      @@ZackDowdy thank you for the reply. I’ve been teetering on trying between a 58-60mm wheel, and around 99a 👍🏻

    Great video - loved the Q&A :) What's the best way to bail when learning Rock to Fakie, and particularly how to bail during the backwards/fakie phase of the trick? I just got a minor concussion from falling backwards as I hang up on the coping with my front trucks :(

      Yeah! Unfortunately. I was in NY & the skate shop didn't have any Last Resorts or any shoe brands I prefer in my size so I got these, I will say - they're nice. I'm stoked to try the Last Resort Mid's

    My biggest problem is I'm afraid of heights. Been trying to learn to drop in bigger transitions.
