    Love the collage and your techniques. Thanks for sharing. FYI: you can knock back the shine of the beeswax texture with rubbing alcohol instead of matte medium. That way you don't have to wait for the medium to dry.

    by tuning down the shine, it brings out the the image versus the texture, images should not be dominated by materials, it is the image which is important. But if texture is important, one may do either.

    Hi Robyn. I enjoy your videos and work and have learned a lot from you. You mentioned you have been doing traditional encaustics for years. My question: Have you ever used embossing powder the way you did here with traditional encaustics? I have been taught to not use acrylics with traditional encaustics, so I use photocopies of my prints and paintings in my encaustics. Do you think there might be issues with peeling or flaking using the embossing powders? Thanks!

    Robyn, I love what you are doing with Seth's baked textures. What is the element with the thick circle that you "floated" on top of the first application of EP? Some how I missed what that was. It is really interesting. BTW--I have all of your collage packs and this months is my favorite.

    Robyn, I notice you print some of your papers on onionskin. May I ask how you get it through your printer without jamming? Thanks!

    • @RobynMcClendon
      @RobynMcClendon  3 роки тому

      Sure! I feed one sheet at the time into my printer. If using the paper tray I put one piece of paper at a time into the try. I never jams this way, because the paper is thick enough to feed through the printer just fine the problem is that the printer doesn't always select one sheet if you have a stack in your paper tray....Hope that helps! :)

      Thx! On the untreated board which is very porous, I wanted to put a layer of paper to act as a primer so that all of the other papers would go down smoothly. Remember how my first sheet was onion skin and then tissue papers and additional onion skin? the onionskin would have instantly buckled and given me the color of the cradle board, I wanted to create a nice substrate to build from.

    I couldn’t figure out what encaustic was. I saw the word “caustic” and thought-nope, not for me. I’m going to need gloves and a flow hood and a gas mask and a cricut-which just looks like a crafty panini maker to me.

    Hi. I am a newbie to your channel and this project is amazing!! I have Seth's beeswax powder but have never used it this way. I will now!! A question please.....I have never used onion skin in my ink jet printer. When I copy on tissue I have to tape it to copy paper to get it thru in one piece. I am wondering if you have to do the same thing with the onion skin or it is thick enough to go through your printer? I have purchased the course and paper you used today. I LOVE it!! Thank you so much for this lesson. Again.....amazing.
    p.s. The circles..I havent looked yet but do you have a video making them? I am just wondering what material you used on top of the tissue? onion skin? etc. I know too many questions. Sorry.
