And then he had his very dramatic, narcissistic collapse and checked himself into a swanky 45 day treatment program.
What a horrible way to exist! No wonder narcs are always on the move. Peace is highly underrated. I’m so thankful to have it after years of self-reflection, trials, and overcoming. Yes, I’ve been entangled with toxic people, but not any longer. Knowledge is Power and now i know the narcissist’s way.

The Narc took me out to eat once, after that zero, I found myself giving more, showing hospitality. I went to the narc's place; I wasn't offered anything not even a drink of water. I woke up. It's been 14 days no contact. Thanks, Andrew.🙂
Been there too. He always came to my place, i ordered or cooked dinner every time. New Years Eve he came without even a bottle of wine or anything. He refused to have me visit his house. Every time he came to my place he offered and brought nothing. I paid for everything
I've stayed out of relationships for 5 years now and these demons still find me. It was customers for a while but 3 months ago my neighbor threatened me for half an hour in front of the sheriff. It was not even in the police report. Got a protection order from the court.
I know a narc that the more distractions she had the bigger her ego was. She felt like because she was keeping herself very busy or i should say appear to be very busy, the more important people would think she is. She's been like that all her life. Always ,,,my husband got me a Channel perfume set for mothers day,,she had to tell me,, my husband gave that to me last year and I returned it,I did not like it, ,,I asked her ,"was it necessary to tell me that?"
When I think back to the amount of work I did and lack of appreciation I received, it makes me feel sad that I was that person trying to please someone who wanted to hurt me. I have peace now but still ruminating and wish he'd leave my mind. Stay strong ❤
When I was in my mid-teens my father would get up in the morning and slam cupboards and that was a real distraction at that point in time I didn't know what narcissism was yet looking back I'll tell you what I absolute horrible mid teen year I had in my life with that going on every morning
I remember over a year and a half ago looking up on UA-cam why my husband always angry at me. I had no clue what narcissism was. I was brutally discarded just over a year ago. I'm now divorced. When I was with him there was a radio on in the bathroom, kitchen, and garage at all times. He could never sit still. My relationship was very toxic, especially towards the last year when I set up boundaries. I would like thank you for giving me the knowledge and understanding.

Everybody looked the other way in my abusive marriage to the Demon Narc husband . The only person that gave me the advice to leave & helped plan my escape was a JESUS woman. I thank God for her every time I think about it😄

This is my neighbor. Loved us at first, hates us now and does things on/over the property line to poke at us for reactions almost daily. These types of people are the worst because it really tests your resilience on being able to ignore.
A bad neighbor lacks a basic consideration for others. I used to wonder how they get off on going out of their way to being jerks. I had the worst problems with aging ones with nothing to do, no hobbies and an obvious, lingering lust for power and control , they might have once had. Or maybe never really had it, but the lust remained and they settle for getting their jollies with small doses of sadistic satisfaction. Investing in a fence building company might be wise.
Omg. So right!!! 😮 constantly upsetting the dining hall, the waiter, the waitress de valuing them terrible constant. It’s so embarrassing, and so aggravating can’t stand the narc.
Ironically, they require new distractions continually, but they resent any *real* changes or *growth* that might happen for -or with you. They take a snapshot and "that's you" -forever and a day. *They'll talk about you in the third person while talking to you!* -about the person that ( they *thought* ) you used to be, -as though you are *still* their warped version of you?! I had a conversation with a narcissist that I have known for many years -and I realised that they have *never* known me ~at all! They would like to keep you "frozen in the amber of their misconception" if they could. I will say this for them, though, they *are* master manipulators, which is why you have to stay the hell away. The target is a cliff note version: a hurried up, totally inaccurate summation of what the narc generalizes you to be so they can put you in a box in their pea brain mind and move onto another target. When the narc was attempting to explain what I did for a living I realized he didn’t have a clue. Of course, when I pointed out he was greatly mistaken, he didn’t want to hear it. About this time I was seeing a counselor, I had not told him about the job conversation. He said, “ he has no idea who you really are, does he?” I so appreciate your accurate summation. Thank you.

A bit off topic here however, sharing is healing. Recently watched as another narsist fell from my presence, there nothing under the sun better than that. " They wanted me on Thier time schedule". It didn't work and I'm so grateful. This person had many chances too reach out however they didn't and so missed the choice to balance the scales. It's over and there's no feelings or emotional baggage anymore; it's done. Another narc bites the dust from my precious and beautiful life. Life is short, don't waste time ya all. Move on when the moment arises it makes ght be today or tomorrow or next year. Stay on the path with compassionate folks. We've been fuked over enough. ❤❤❤.

I know I’m an impath. I can’t get my narcissist cousin to move out. He’s driving me nuts with his love bombing. He’s bending over backwards to wait on me hand and foot, after 7 years of gaslighting and abusing me financially. I told him again today I want him to move out. He thinks love bombing me is going to make me unsee the light? No way! I even told him if he isn’t out by Nov. 1, I’m having him evicted. I don’t want to do this, but if he keeps giving me a hard time about leaving, my sons said they will come over and tell him he needs to move out and why they want him to. They know what he is and they don’t like him doing this to their mother any longer.
Yep, my mother talks 100mph. Jumping from one topic to the next definitely sounds like a manic episode. She's always asking how much we paid for something and want to know every personal detail about our lives. She's not a safe space, we cannot be vulnerable with her. She uses it as a gossiping tool. The few times we have taken her out to dinner, she does complain about things. One time, she ate half of her food and then complained to the waiter about it being salty and sent it back for something else. She's always playing the "senior" card or saying things like "well, I am your mother" to get what she wants. It doesn't work anymore on me or my siblings. She's so nerve-wracking to be around because we can never feel relaxed around her.
Geezzz!!!! Sounds alot like my Mom, always pulling that "I'm your mother nonsense!!!" My Dad says the same thing too "I'm your father"!!!! I'm coming close to blocking them!! Especially my Mom! She complains about things too like "how come you don't visit us"? "You treat us so poorly"!! Saying all this after all I've done for them all these years!!! So I can totally relate to you 💯

Always with a new 'hobby'. I have watched the narc go through at least 2 dozen 'hobbies' which were never really hobbies, just momentary obsessions they dumped time, money and attention into. They have to spend money on sh*t they 'love' at that moment in time, they cannot be in silence, they need constant noise because their brains are so hectic they try to match the external environment into the internal environment with constant tv/music/phone calls/texting/social media. Keep it up Andrew, you're doing God's work.
It seems like I constantly need distractions to distract me from all the memories of turmoil, but I know I'm not a narcissist because I don't pretend to be someone else and lie about my identity to infiltrate someone's life, and then judge them and call them names. It's so hard to comprehend WHY they do this no matter how many videos I watch. They destroy their own life too! They don't make any sense!
TV was ALWAYS on and he was always on his phone.. he also was into collectibles.. baseball cards, hot wheels, guns, etc.. he would perseverate for a bit then change his focus.. now I’m thinking it was his brilliant way of hiding his assets..🤔🤔
Two years ago, I had a terrible experience with narcissism. I managed to discard the creep in the end and have become much stronger. At this point, I have found a new narcissist and intend to act more carefully this time around.
I forgot my phone at work this evening. I was at first a little down about it, but I didn't know why. Then I quickly realized its not the end of the world and that all is well. I can only imagine what would happen to a NRC if they forgot their phone at a place that doesn't open again until the middle of the morning. I feel blessed to be able to live without it for the reaminder of the evening and the morning. I hope eveyone is well!!
Was raised by one. Dated many of them. Had a child with one. 44 years of experience attracting these devils. Got one, no, two at church. One in particular i just met, that helps with serving charity meals to the community every Monday at our church. I can now see who a narc is very quickly when they target me with the barking oreders, being unagreeable, combative, angry, has to be in charge, zero humility or humbleness. Im working on not internalizing these behaviors and learning to just let them be combative and just not respond. I always seem to be the target for these narcs, when all i want is peace and im not competing with them like they compete with me. If you are a good-looking person man or woman who is easy going and are a peace maker, they will always target you. It just means your a shining bright person with deep empathy and compassion:-)
The moment you show any concern about something other than yourself, they instantly see a new source of supply. Let them expose themselves and walk away. Hopefully others will see that exposure and also walk away.
Everyday fog...Narcissistic fog...those are two "states" of mind to remember. I'll be reflecting on that. When you said "that's why you and I speak the same language", we can finish each other's sentences.... 💥💥 I can't find any of those people. All I find are the "everyday fog" folks. I thought it was to much sugar in his coffee🤣one of the thing that push me over the edge was: The yelling, cursing at other drivers on the road, even the cyclists,. Thank you Andrew …. This is so true ! I am stuck with the Narc while the divorce gets finalized. So Narc husband has to buy a puppy because he needs a distraction. The puppy is kept in the barn because we have a cat here that is afraid of dogs. The cat is older and doesn’t feel safe around here anymore. So the cat travels away from the house during the day and comes home late at night to get something to eat. Poor cats life is upset because of the chaos the Narc has to start. Also, the Narc keeps the TV on in the barn for the puppy when he is gone. Poor dog has to hear the TV on constantly,so you are so right. Narcs need the noise to distract them….

Distractions is my spouses self declared banner. He can’t cope with something so he escapes through distractions. He has a lot of electronics. His feet always moving even when he’s reclining, I always thought that was strange. He says he wishes he lived in the sci-fi realm, he loves superhero’s and good superhero’s win and bad don’t. He likes fantasy, non reality and prefers it more than what’s real in front of him. He is glued into it

Absolutely. As narc got worst, long after I was gone, the TV in the background was blaring to the point you couldn't hear him on the phone. You are trying to talk to them about your child and they are shouting over the background noise! They have perfect hearing, but can't hear because the TV is so loud . Sometimes there was a call from a loud bar, casino or other such environment.
I am the “victim“ and I am the alienated parent, i’m the one who lost everything including neighbors and friends that we had, because of the smear campaign and the lies and the pretending and the charisma and mask wearing where I was always real but because I did not know how to respond rather than react, I had a lot of explosive responses
Without distractions, they have to pay attention to the things they've done. It must be unbearable. Sometimes, at night, I relive things that I'm not proud of, and it hurts. Can you inagine what it feels like for them?

Beware, never pick up one of their creepy clowns or scary dolls and start laughing. The back of its head flew off. It was a creepy secret compartment. Scared the heck out of me . My Narc ex, i can't count the amount of free burgers she got, free food she got, she ruined my uber eats account because she kept making claims on food now they won't let me put in issues since I left her... complaining about food at a restaurant, its wild how you pinpoint traits. Also, the type of person to go through a drive through and be rude to people on the other side of the intercom, which i told her stop doing that because i don't want my food to get tampered with. She would cause a scene in the store and people would be looking at us because she's upset with something. Its ridiculous. Coward, bully...i remember realizing she was that... told her I never allowed anybody to bully me and wouldn't start now...but she did, narcs are really good at getting away with things in unconventional ways, they do things to people the person never thought they'd allow a person to do to them. That's why dealing with them is traumatic.

An empath/pleaser I'd wanted to protect my now deceased parents, my nephews, brother in law and others whom I love, but the cost became too high. With all my back pain and doctors appointments lately, she spends the VAST majority of her time AT the church, then comes home and acts like each of her friends there is a genius in SOME field or another and can tell me EXACTLY what’s wrong with me AND how to fix it (though I’ve never met these people). When they say things I’ve been saying for weeks/ months/ and in some cases YEARS, THEY’RE STILL the experts. and I’m just being stubborn and difficult. Narcs need distractions because if they DIDN’T have them, they MIGHT have to listen to… y’know… somebody’s opinion they don’t value and don’t want to hear. That’s just my perspective though 😛😄🤷♀️💜🩷
Hi Andrew, you know what pisses me off the most. Is that he is a truly evil person. He was doing most of his dirty work while I was in bed with him (always on the phone) etc. And the sick thing is that I think he was getting off knowing that he was getting away with it. I am more angry than hurt.

I remember over a year and a half ago looking up on UA-cam why my husband always angry at me. I had no clue what narcissism was. I was brutally discarded just over a year ago. I'm now divorced. When I was with him there was a radio on in the bathroom, kitchen, and garage at all times. He could never sit still. My relationship was very toxic, especially towards the last year when I set up boundaries. I would like thank you for giving me the knowledge and understanding.
My blood pressure is so high right now because I communicated with my 39 year old Narc son an hour ago.

This is my neighbor. Loved us at first, hates us now and does things on/over the property line to poke at us for reactions almost daily. These types of people are the worst because it really tests your resilience on being able to ignore.
A bad neighbor lacks a basic consideration for others. I used to wonder how they get off on going out of their way to being jerks. I had the worst problems with aging ones with nothing to do, no hobbies and an obvious, lingering
lust for power and control , they might have once had. Or maybe never really had it, but the lust remained and they
settle for getting their jollies with small doses of sadistic satisfaction. Investing in a fence building company might be wise.

I had a conversation with a narcissist that I have known for many years -and I realised that they have *never* known me ~at all! That is EXACTLY what I experienced with the narc.
The target is a cliff note version: a hurried up, totally inaccurate summation of what the narc generalizes you to be so they can put you in a box in their pea brain mind and move onto another target. When the narc was attempting to explain what I did for a living I realized he didn’t have a clue. Of course, when I pointed out he was greatly mistaken, he didn’t want to hear it. About this time I was seeing a counselor, I had not told him about the job conversation. He said, “ he has no idea who you really are, does he?”

Recently watched as another narsist fell from my presence, there nothing under the sun better than that.

This person had many chances too reach out however they didn't and so missed the choice to balance the scales.
It's over and there's no feelings or emotional baggage anymore; it's done. Another narc bites the dust from my precious and beautiful life.

I know I’m an impath. I can’t get my narcissist cousin to move out. He’s driving me nuts with his love bombing. He’s bending over backwards to wait on me hand and foot, after 7 years of gaslighting and abusing me financially. I told him again today I want him to move out. He thinks love bombing me is going to make me unsee the light? No way! I even told him if he isn’t out by Nov. 1, I’m having him evicted. I don’t want to do this, but if he keeps giving me a hard time about leaving, my sons said they will come over and tell him he needs to move out and why they want him to. They know what he is and they don’t like him doing this to their mother any longer.
Once we discern we are dealing with a narcissist, we should run for the hills. Have nothing to do with those destructive people.
Yep, my mother talks 100mph. Jumping from one topic to the next definitely sounds like a manic episode. She's always asking how much we paid for something and want to know every personal detail about our lives. She's not a safe space, we cannot be vulnerable with her. She uses it as a gossiping tool. The few times we have taken her out to dinner, she does complain about things. One time, she ate half of her food and then complained to the waiter about it being salty and sent it back for something else. She's always playing the "senior" card or saying things like "well, I am your mother" to get what she wants. It doesn't work anymore on me or my siblings. She's so nerve-wracking to be around because we can never feel relaxed around her.
Geezzz!!!! Sounds alot like my Mom, always pulling that "I'm your mother nonsense!!!" My Dad says the same thing too "I'm your father"!!!! I'm coming close to blocking them!! Especially my Mom! She complains about things too like "how come you don't visit us"? "You treat us so poorly"!! Saying all this after all I've done for them all these years!!! So I can totally relate to you 💯

Always with a new 'hobby'. I have watched the narc go through at least 2 dozen 'hobbies' which were never really hobbies, just momentary obsessions they dumped time, money and attention into. They have to spend money on sh*t they 'love' at that moment in time, they cannot be in silence, they need constant noise because their brains are so hectic they try to match the external environment into the internal environment with constant tv/music/phone calls/texting/social media. Keep it up Andrew, you're doing God's work.
It seems like I constantly need distractions to distract me from all the memories of turmoil, but I know I'm not a narcissist because I don't pretend to be someone else and lie about my identity to infiltrate someone's life, and then judge them and call them names. It's so hard to comprehend WHY they do this no matter how many videos I watch. They destroy their own life too! They don't make any sense!
TV was ALWAYS on and he was always on his phone.. he also was into collectibles.. baseball cards, hot wheels, guns, etc.. he would perseverate for a bit then change his focus.. now I’m thinking it was his brilliant way of hiding his assets..🤔🤔

Two years ago, I had a terrible experience with narcissism. I managed to discard the creep in the end and have become much stronger. At this point, I have found a new narcissist and intend to act more carefully this time around.
I forgot my phone at work this evening. I was at first a little down about it, but I didn't know why. Then I quickly realized its not the end of the world and that all is well. I can only imagine what would happen to a NRC if they forgot their phone at a place that doesn't open again until the middle of the morning. I feel blessed to be able to live without it for the reaminder of the evening and the morning. I hope eveyone is well!!

Was raised by one. Dated many of them. Had a child with one. 44 years of experience attracting these devils. Got one, no, two at church. One in particular i just met, that helps with serving charity meals to the community every Monday at our church. I can now see who a narc is very quickly when they target me with the barking oreders, being unagreeable, combative, angry, has to be in charge, zero humility or humbleness. Im working on not internalizing these behaviors and learning to just let them be combative and just not respond. I always seem to be the target for these narcs, when all i want is peace and im not competing with them like they compete with me. If you are a good-looking person man or woman who is easy going and are a peace maker, they will always target you. It just means your a shining bright person with deep empathy and compassion:-)
The moment you show any concern about something other than yourself, they instantly see a new source of supply. Let them expose themselves and walk away. Hopefully others will see that exposure and also walk away.

Thank you Andrew …. This is so true ! I am stuck with the Narc while the divorce gets finalized. So Narc husband has to buy a puppy because he needs a distraction. The puppy is kept in the barn because we have a cat here that is afraid of dogs. The cat is older and doesn’t feel safe around here anymore. So the cat travels away from the house during the day and comes home late at night to get something to eat. Poor cats life is upset because of the chaos the Narc has to start. Also, the Narc keeps the TV on in the barn for the puppy when he is gone. Poor dog has to hear the TV on constantly,so you are so right. Narcs need the noise to distract them….

Absolutely. As narc got worst, long after I was gone, the TV in the background was blaring to the point you couldn't hear him on the phone. You are trying to talk to them about your child and they are shouting over the background noise! They have perfect hearing, but can't hear because the TV is so loud . Sometimes there was a call from a loud bar, casino or other such environment.
I am the “victim“ and I am the alienated parent, i’m the one who lost everything including neighbors and friends that we had, because of the smear campaign and the lies and the pretending and the charisma and mask wearing where I was always real but because I did not know how to respond rather than react, I had a lot of explosive responses

My Narc ex, i can't count the amount of free burgers she got, free food she got, she ruined my uber eats account because she kept making claims on food now they won't let me put in issues since I left her... complaining about food at a restaurant, its wild how you pinpoint traits. Also, the type of person to go through a drive through and be rude to people on the other side of the intercom, which i told her stop doing that because i don't want my food to get tampered with. She would cause a scene in the store and people would be looking at us because she's upset with something. Its ridiculous. Coward, bully...i remember realizing she was that... told her I never allowed anybody to bully me and wouldn't start now...but she did, narcs are really good at getting away with things in unconventional ways, they do things to people the person never thought they'd allow a person to do to them. That's why dealing with them is traumatic.

I can tell you that my mother, a narcissist like my father, uses church as a distraction. With all my back pain and doctors appointments lately, she spends the VAST majority of her time AT the church, then comes home and acts like each of her friends there is a genius in SOME field or another and can tell me EXACTLY what’s wrong with me AND how to fix it (though I’ve never met these people). When they say things I’ve been saying for weeks/ months/ and in some cases YEARS, THEY’RE STILL the experts. and I’m just being stubborn and difficult. Narcs need distractions because if they DIDN’T have them, they MIGHT have to listen to… y’know… somebody’s opinion they don’t value and don’t want to hear. That’s just my perspective though 😛😄🤷♀️💜🩷

Hi Andrew, you know what pisses me off the most. Is that he is a truly evil person. He was doing most of his dirty work while I was in bed with him (always on the phone) etc. And the sick thing is that I think he was getting off knowing that he was getting away with it. I am more angry than hurt.
