I just started watching the series and I am 13 minutes in. I have got to say you guys have not compromised on quality to save time at all. You are taking the time to explain concepts in detail, and editing in visuals for whenever you mention a card or location on the board. This must have taken so much time to create! You definitely have patience, and my subscription!!! Great job!
Great video and very informative, but it ends abruptly! Looking forward to the rest of the series. Some more 'What the Flop' would be great. Great work!
Desert Ambush has significantly increased in viability with the introduction of Graft cards. Grafting it with a fremen or spacing guild card, or any city location gives it so much more potential than base game or Ix.
My thoughts on crysknife are simply the flexibility of how you go about getting the influence bump. It’s a card with a 1 bump potential but two ways of achieving it. Sometimes it’s better to play it for the water or troops, and sometimes it’s better to reveal for the sneaky bump. Tessia or influence related intrigues can be great combos cause on reveal people won’t be able to respond.
Haven't watched yet but I love the idea for this video and the previous videos, great work and looking forward to future videos. Thanks for all the hard work 😁
love this discussion. i do believe card draw has been slightly under valued in these lists. the reason being is that card draw is equivalent to placing an agent without spending a card. this enhances your reveal turn and can be essential for a spice must flow strategy.
For scout, if i trashed way too many of my cards carelessly through selective breeding and desperately need triangles, which liaison doesnt provide, I'd pick it up. I've had that moment one or two times. But ofc in a tournament or something that wouldnt happen.
Definitely. As mentioned, there are uses for all of these cards. I think that's reasonable. It's easy to forget about the icon composition of your deck.
Excited to see if the grafting mechanic in the upcoming expansion is going to make the lower ranked cards more viable. The added flexibility should help in theory? Hopefully making them better buys when you have an influence point or two left available.
I really want to like Space Travel, but I have to agree. I think it would need an extra symbol to make it decent, so that it's not so limited to only going to foldspace, and rarely highliner.
It is benefited by grafting in Immortality and having a 2nd card for later heighliners takes a lot of pressure off from the Diplomacy card. But won't be the best.
Quick notes while listening: Scout: Gets way better in 2 players game when AI player can randomly unload a lot of troops. Spice Hunter: Its especially good for Tessa and Leto. Any faction access is good for those characters. Its also a freeman! Desert Ambush gains a lot of value if you also have tech tile that generate a troop. Remember that its also a freeman for possible freemen bond value. Will edit later Every card has its niche, be flexible while playing Dune
I think you could add more insights and perhaps make this a bit easier to digest if you organized around value. EG of the one cost cards which are the best and worst , of the twos which are the best and worst etc…
@@hidden-assets That would be great. You are very kind to even suggest that. Maybe we can see if other folks are interested too, don't want to make you do work just my account!
@@robertobrillembourg4095 no problem. I want to make this helpful for people. I'll spend some time organizing the list for the last episode in this series :)
Imperial Shock Trooper is trash, I love a Sardaukar Infantry though. I still remember a fight I won sending an agent with recon to Sietch Tabr to send a single troop into combat and next round reveal 2 Sardaukar Infantry and 2 Worm Riders (with Fremen Alliance), 18 strength with a single troop and the player that went to Heighliner watching sadly was priceless.
I like all of these cards more as ecaz. But not with ring if I can trash the starter cards they are better than then I will pick them up. Scout is good if I can trash both dune and reconnaissance. But only if I can do both
Can Desert Ambush force Drednote to retreat? In company I playing they say it’s not because it Written “troops” and the book of rules says that troops are not drednotes…. And I out of argument on this topic. If it would I woulda win that game. I forgot to mention I’m playing on different language so it called differently

Thanks for the kind words!
Excellent analysis. Just the kind of video I have been wanting. Can't wait for the next one to come out.

We did this series over the course of several days and had to cut the discussion short. Next one is longer!
Great stuff as always, can't wait for the following parts.
Amazing, more like this, specific strategies that proved more efficient in the tournament, etc
This was originally recorded during the tournament, but there will be more discussion about new strategies during the tournament in a future series.

Definitely agree with this! Since recording I've warmed on it. It's good!

When does part 2 come out? I really enjoy the discussion and look forward to more!
Pretty soon. Just wrapping up the last bits.
Desert ambush grafted with guild + liner is a swing for 20 battle value
It defo is nuts and would get a higher ranking if this was for Immo.

Players can catch themselves out by trashing their daggers early before getting swordmaster etc and this can be a way around it admittedly.

Here's hoping!
Parience mentions that he wrote a post somewhere ranking the cards. Does anyone have a link to this?
Look in the description for the link!!

Every card has its niche, be flexible while playing Dune
And that's why we love this game!
Yeah, the above does show that weak cards have their uses but it's very uncommon to get both so it's hard to value the cards strongly for it.
What happened to the other parts?
@@jasonc2784 they're on the channel.

Had a think on this: I can compile the list into influence cost groups a little later so you can better visualize it. Would that help?

No love for Shock Trooper? (I'm pretty sure I rated it too highly in this series, but I've had some really good experiences with it.)
@@hidden-assets Kinda hard to justify the extra cost and needing to go to Wealth or Conspire to get the extra benefit from.

In my experience ist better to Just dont Play cards below 3 cost (with some exeptions Here and there)
Good
I hate this video because I can't interrupt you to be pedantic about every point you make.

Yes it can. You deploy troops, you force any unit (dread or troop) to retreat.
My enemy used this combination desert ambush with heigliner
Yup, it's pretty nasty and not a lot one can do about it sometimes...
