Great episode! Helped me think about the cards in different ways. One thing i will say is that I think deck cycling is super important in immo. Even if you arent going for a smf, being able to draw into card combos is very important. So for me, that’s why I’d take facedancer over the initiate most times. But yeah definitely a preference thing!
I just today had a game with ghola where I had smugglers thopter, shai halud, web of power and the bene gesserit card where it has no icons but if you can play it it gives a bene gesserit bump and an intrigue. Was a fun game.
@@hidden-assets It was, I still lost out by a single point, but it was a very fun game. I got to match with all of them in that game. Ghola Shai Halud is no joke, trashing two cards out of your deck just accelerates you getting to combo with your other bomb cards.
a little over a third of the way in and just realised, no mention of putting these cards straight on top of your deck. Subject X-137 buying that and putting it on top of your deck is 2 beetle bumps. Corino genes you might know you have a graft card in next hand. I mean it’s not worth talking about for every card but even just the right faction access on a card is good if you need draw it next turn. like i said i don’t think it needs to be talked about for every card, but there was a lot of talk about just about everything else :p
@@elessar11 there was a situation i was in the other day for me that the Tleax row was espionage and slig farmers and that was a point for me based on where I was on the track if I bought both to top of my deck(I was 2 away from victory point), I instead opted for a single bump from paying the 3 specimens for a single bump and leaving it at that. As I didn't want anyone else to have a better option of cards to buy for their next turn as I was planning on winning the next turn anyway. That situation did have me realise though that late game more so than the Imperium Row, you really don't want to go fishing for cards if other players are buying behind you as they might be able to play them against you pretty much immediatetly Im realy enjoying immo - just struggling to get the games in.
Love the videos; thanks for all your insight and effort in making them. A quick question regarding Stitched Horror's agent icon: doesn't choose 2 mean you can't choose the same reward twice? E.g you can't choose two beetles, only one plus a different reward? Really looking forward to your ranking of the Immortality cards 😂
Beguiling Pheromones can be absolute bonkers. Played a game yesterday and used it to get 4 extra bumps during the game. But yeah, no way beguiling should proc if you trash the other card through other means. Unnatural Reflexes is great for me. The biggest disadvantage of graft is how it depletes you hand of cards and this fixes that. Also also helps with the only "bad" think about shipping which is no card draw. You just have to make sure to get the research steps when you first cycle into this and it's all profit from there. When you have a mediocre hand, you can just jam this with whatever space you can go to and draw out of it without "wasting" a turn on Arrakeen.
@@JagWoof I like it with Immortality. The focus shifts to the desert spaces a little more and that's what Uprising wants you to do anyway. I think it's a good combo.
Hi, fairly new to the game. at about an hour in you talk about Corino Genes. What about for Yuna Moritani? With her ability to get extra Solari. That initial 2 becomes 3..... and going to wealth gives you another 3. Saw an amazing Yuna game at a con last week and i've been thinking about her and rushing swordmaster.
I'd say the initial 2 or 3 on Corino Genes doesnt maker it much more powerfill for Yuna over other leaders. Slig Farmer however is huge, as it single handedly can fuel a signet ring activation. Rushing SM with Yuna is usually your first objective. She is tricky tho, as without Immortality ( and thus Experimentation) the smuggling spot wasn't very desirable so Yuna could profit from that. But with Immo, people want to play their Experiumentation and smuggling gets takes earlier.
The more I play Immo, the less I buy these cards. Here's why: since it takes 4 bumps on the beetle track to get a VP and the first two of these are very easy to achieve with 3 research track symbols (which also gives 2 specimens), it means that the 4 specimens left to pay to reach that VP are very valuable and you kind of need them to pay those last two bumps. It leaves very little specimens left to pay for anything else, unless that card specifically help you go forward the beetle track or it's just very leaning toward your leader's strategy. Cards like Guild Impersonator with Ilesa, Face Dancer if you need to climb the influence tracks, Contaminator, Subject X-137, Stitched Horror or Scientific Breakthrough to try and go for the 2 beetle VPs, Slig Farmer for Yuna, Piter and Unnatural Reflexes for TSMF strategies. It leaves us with Tleilaxu Infiltrator which is just brokenly good and Gholas which is sometimes broken, sometimes just a fine card for its cost.
Usually you can spend the first 3/4 specimen on cards, and after that you start converting them into beetle bumbs. If also depends on if you keep playing your experimentations ( and which route you take) or start revealing them. Beetles can be a little weird. Some games they come easily and others it's a struggle to get enough for the first VP. Funnily sometimes in the late game it can be benefitial to buy a Tleilaxu card again if you can put it on top of the deck. Perfect if you need to garantee certain access.
At 1h20min you mention Ghola + Rev Mother Mohaim. In order to get that doubled, a player must have a previous BG card, right? The Ghola’s copied agent box triggers off RMM, but RMM can’t trigger off Ghola alone. That makes it a little more fair. And if you know an opponent has BG cards and Ghola, you should be doing everything to block them from also getting RMM eg using atomics. Great video!
Yeah it does need the extra bg to get the full hit off it but it DOES allow you to get the two discards without any other BG in the first place and without warning.

Are these rankings assuming 4-player games? Cos that’s insane. Even 3 player games can be painfully slow, it’d be pretty disheartening if most people are wanting to play this with 4 players.
The vast amount of our time in this game, pretty much irrespective of expansions is 4-player games. Will admit that 3p will change things a bit. There can be some longer actions to take but after some plays, I don't feel Immo is that much longer then Ix games on average.

It can be a good setup card and it can have some other specific uses but a lot of the time, it's not worth it to me.
