    I like that exterior colour and the interior paneling looks great. 👍

      Thanks! It's called Hawaiian blue. You only have a few color choices for the metal and I wanted it to match the house if possible. It turned out that this was a similar close.

    Wow, contractors can really be a pain. Your building looks fantastic. I'm sure your projects will be more enjoyable in an air-conditioned shop now. At least your camera won't be shutting off. Great video

      Thanks! I changed the water pump in my truck in air conditioned comfort. :) Quite a difference from being outside in the FL heat.

    One of the few times you hear somebody tell you about almost losing their s*** and probably had somebody tell them down someday you'll laugh about this. Now you're actually laughing about it. Good to see you didn't completely lose it. Thanks for laying it all out, in details, prices and time. Everybody has things they wish they'd done different but I think you nailed it and definitely won't regret anything you did. Thanks again

      Thanks! Even before I started the process with this builder I had prepared myself for some difficulties and delays. I got more than I had imagined but by keeping the end goal in sight I was able to keep "mostly" calm in dealing with everyone.

    I built a metal building. For a warehouse behind my store. And a lot of what you’re saying was true.i had more problems with zoning than anything. Had to have a buffer zone between my building and the homes. All that had to be approved. And then landscaping. Mine was about 3 times your size. No AC but did insulation. It took me about 6 months. Start to finish. Yes got to be patient. Thanks for sharing your experience. 💯👊👍

    • @floridarusticrepairs

      Thanks for the info! Fortunately, I had zoning cleared up by the time I got to contract. Did you go with closed cell foam insulation? I'm curious as to your opinions on that.

    • @terryeustice5399
      @terryeustice5399 2 місяці тому

      @@floridarusticrepairs I had a roof top vent to allow heat to rise and go out. The insulation was kinda old school. Had insulation towards the metal. And heavy plastic on inside. Worked well. For my warehouse. Spray insulation was not offered. I do like the way yours was done.

      @@terryeustice5399 The extra window I wanted was actually so I could put a solar fan up there to vent. it didn't work out but the foam really does an excellent job.

    Thanks for doing the video. I am actually in the beginning process of a 24x40 building. I am using it for a garage to work on cars so I will not be going with paneling, lol. My big cost is going to be the leveling the land, it is on a hill, and concrete pad. The only good thing for me is that I don't have a tight deadline. Your building looks really nice!!

    I had a totally different experience. I used Eagle, and although my unit is half this size. I did my own permits ground work and concrete using tails, 3800.Building was 6900, no insulation or panel all in just under 11k and put in ground exactly 9 weeks from order.

    • @floridarusticrepairs
      @floridarusticrepairs  2 місяці тому

      Thanks for the info. That's interesting. Even at it's best I can't see that happening with mine. Maybe if I had the permits before I signed the contract (3 weeks saved) and had the concrete lined up before the contract with the builder (4 weeks saved) it may have been possible. My town made it difficult for me to permit this myself and after my first failed attempt coordinating that with a builder I handed it off.

      Thanks! It's funny that you mention communication. After the third time I was told that it would be six more weeks by the contractor I told him that he is very weak at managing expectations. Had he simply said that it'll take 5 months I would have been fine with it. With every delay I only discovered things were stalled after I called for a status having not heard anything for a while.

    I’m sorry this project took so long for you. I acted as my own GC and my metal building with concrete was done in under 2 months. The permitting was easily the most annoying part but thankfully I had great crews that did the installs.

    Always include liquidated damages in the contract. Every day past schedule is $100-$200 penalty.

      Good point! I tried for a clause with monetization but the best they'd give me was a timeline which they failed miserably with. It's on me if I want to pursue it further but I think I won't bother.

    Nice building, is the cost of the building include the assembly on site?
    Thanks for sharing your info

    • @floridarusticrepairs
      @floridarusticrepairs  2 місяці тому

      The cost of assembly is included. The only thing I caught when quoting builders is that some would say that you needed to provide a crane on site. Anytime i argued that point they immediately backed off and included it. Since my building height is only 15' at peak, a crane wasn't necessary anyway which makes me wonder why they tried to add that cost.
