Glad to see the floor you stand on stays level at both ends of the shaft instead of flipping over. Great video.

Manlifts platforms flip over but but nobody is allowed to ride past the last floor, but they CAN ride to the basement and feel the platform drop out from under their feet.

Hopefully the countries that still have them will not get rid of them. Shame of paranoid countries that buy into the propaganda or allow irresponsible to get away with "being a victim".

This is what gets on my nerves about the crowd that says everything has to be foolproof vs safe. Elevators need only be safe while people need to be responsible and have common sense but that's too much to ask. Nothing will ever be foolproof because foolish behaving people love to evolve ways to get around all the safety features. Start making them responsible for their actions vs elevator companies and building owners.

Some of these paternosters had ceased operation then became staff only. I remember looking into these in Germany which many had stopped use. One of the buildings luckily was a court house and other government offices and the workers had several very solid points. This may seem odd however one of them was using the shaft for communication the other was the way it was used there in their specific application. To replace with a standard elevator(s) would be a major cost and impact the space on each floor. Another was the amount of people using it and how many at a time. For a standard elevator the wait time they showed would be enormous. It not only reopened but to the public and staff.
