This scene made such a big impact on me when I was a kid and started gaming
you prolly dont give a shit but if you're stoned like me during the covid times you can stream all of the latest movies on instaflixxer. I've been streaming with my girlfriend for the last months =)
@Brecken Gannon definitely, been using InstaFlixxer for months myself =)
Good game but not of this is accurate at all for omaha beach
One of the most impressing moments in videogame history in my opinion. I was 16 when I played this scene and the first time I really got to feel how sick wars are... Couldn't display the madness of war better.
+Bronco Mahony Impressive how games like these, even now & even if the graphics look outdated can produce you the same strong emotions.
+igcompany Probably even better.
I was the same age and felt the same way. Very Saving Private Ryan-esque! Got goosebumps everytime I played. Lots of buddies were impressed by it when I showed them.
+Bronco Mahony Don't mistake this for real war. It is much much worse, hence many veterans ending up with PTSD. In addition today's war doesn't compare to the type of battles in WW2, where the amount of death a regular soldiers saw on a daily basis is staggering in the least.
Yeah was impressed enough with this level on Frontline PS2, gonna play it again right now
When I first played this level, it took me at least 20 tries to beat it. I salute the heroes who did this in real life. It must have been absolutely terrifying to witness such destruction and death all around you.
They were all on drugs, its pretty much known by now
@@nordskyrim6312 what does that have to do with anything ? I don't think the drugs they were on nullified the fact that they probably got shot 3 times in the leg and just saw their best buddy get his head blown off
@@nordskyrim6312that comment qualified you to join now with the asvab to have a ballsy comment like that .
I guess many people don't know that the original Medal of Honor game was made to go alongside Saving Private Ryan. So there is a pretty good reason why there are strong connections between this and the movie
I completely forgot Steven Spielberg was creative director of Medal Of Honor 1... Like I remember playing it and the whole featurette it included where it talks about the games development. But they completely dropped that marketing for the rest, maybe for legal reasons since Lucas Games was a thing and Steven Spielberg didn't want to give the impression he was involved heavily anymore. So it slipped my mind. Then they turned into DICE and developed Battlefield 1942. And the Allied Assault dudes would go onto start the Call Of Duty series. Damn so all of the ww2 games of the early 2000s were because of the same competing teams, it's why they were so well crafted and why we played them, because they kept trying to one up another.
Hey man I have to write a 5-6 page long Report for school about The D-Day and about "are Computer games and movies reallistic compared to what really happend on June 6 1944. And your let's Play really helped me to make my report complete. Thank you man have a nice day bro.
That's great! Thank you for your comment!
Shadyger_LP Blacklight Retribution wtf... what school you go to, i am willing to write 10 page that d day boi
Groundbreaking gaming moment. This was not long after Saving Private Ryan and getting to live the scene was out of this world experience back in the day. I had been off of gaming for a while but when I saw this at a friends house I immediately went and bought a new pc.
7:01 "MG 42 Covering the length of the tunnel"
Me: They're throwing nades too!
9:15
A legendary mission in gaming history. Imagine this mission or game with the Frostbite 3 engine.
I would kill to have this on ps4 or Xbox one graphics
Yeah they need to remake this game
John Maverick depressing now to think about what has happened in the last 4 years in gaming since you made that comment
John Maverick so much potential wasted, almost like gaming companies only care about microtransactions... instead of delivering amazing and emotional contentment...
It exists! You need to play Hell Let Loose! It's a PC game that's coming out with an Omaha Beach Invasion map this Thursday!
This is one of the few amphibious assault missions in any WWII game where you can actually get off the boat without the aid of an explosion.
God this was the first game I ever played.. best times of my life : ')
runertje550 me gta san andreas I think
:) First FPS i played when i was 7... man i loved that game soooo much it's how i got interested in the second world war
+Yani Fountos Same :)
+Zhou Andi me too
same here
meee too!
victor
Still, this one is the best FPS mission of my whole game life
Man I remember how intense this game was back then. Especially the beach landing. Really impressive. If only they could recreate that feeling in some of the newer games, perhaps we wouldn't be so hungry for war.
It would be insane.
I LAUGHED SO hard when he waisted his gernades 😂😂
Now imagine this with the new tech in games engines today.
Brian Fowler Or playing it in 3D.
***** occulus rift with sound sound in 3d 0___0
Ya It sure would be nice to have some ww2 back in the gaming scene. Hell anything other than modern warefare. Cold war would be nice too!
+TheDefeatest The Cold War wasn't really a "war", it was more of a political war.
Briar Robbin Ya for sure, I just meant that in a fictional way , like battles between The powers of the day using the amazing aresnal built during that time by the 2 sides. The whole story line would have to be made up of course.
My history teacher let us play this game back in High School good old days
EPIC VIDEO
4:05 Powell, they need you down ther x3
7:20 throwing grenades like a boss
8:15 shooting a opened door
This is like "saving private Ryan"+"Forrest Gump" :D
am I the only one who heard that one guy praying
no,you are not.
I heard it too
I heard
What part of the video is this?
I DID TOO
Brilliant this was, just think with the graphically capabilities of today's consoles how amazing a world war 2 game would be
I second this idea.
"today's consoles"
Or better yet, on a 4 year old PC :D
I second that idea as well lol
I just want to see WW2 come back. The story telling potential was beyond amazing. Then again, I'd also love to see more in Vietnam, and some AAA titles focus on Korea, WW1, maybe even US Civil and Revolutionary Wars.
Sedan57Chevy Exactly, Like a new Battlefield or something, In WW2 or Vietnam :)
Derbi Time fuck yeah call of duty world war 2
THIS was one of the BEST GAMES that I played during my childhood.
Please can you send me the serial numbers of the game to install it on my pc
Is it just me or is EVERY single line from this mission dedicated to Saving Private Ryan? They say the exact same thing just sometimes rephrased.
its different than the movie
Iwo Jima was the worst, not Normady
It does look like a scene for scene replication.
Rusty Penny If I'm not wrong, I believe Spielburg (Director of Saving Private Ryan) Helped direct the MOH Games. The older ones at least.
Pretty sure they used this and some scenes from CoD games as inspiration for the movie. Also in Band of Brothers, the set used for the attack on Caretan battle is very similar the CoD multiplayer map, and I mean VERY.
i played this mission like 300 times when i was 10 years old
with some of the comments below people are actually gonna think this was inspired by a MOVIE !... This was the biggest thing in WWII : Operation Overlord /D-Day the start of the liberation of Europe and ending of the bloody Nazi's and Adolf Hitlers 3rd Reich ,Real men who died on the beaches of Normandy 6 june 1944 ... may they all rest in peace .
It was not the biggest thing in WW2. Everyday in the Eastern Front is like a D-Day.
Lego Forestman Lets say war in general is a D-DAY
This was the allied breakthrough onto fortress europe. It was absolutely one of the biggest operations of the war. Hundreds of thousands of allied soldiers, in hundreds of different operations to secure the coastal area's, and ensure a safe passage for future allied movements into france and therefore into the rest of europe.
Without D-day, we would be speaking german. It was most definitely one of the most defining operations of the war.
Sure there were engagements with more casualties, and quite often engagements bigger than any single beach assault.
But none that were as large or complicated, with as little margin for error, as the whole operation. Not just this beach sector, but the whole D-day assault as a whole.
I feel sad for the ones that died...they were all brave
This brings back so many memories the submarine mission was so badass
7:04 grenade part XDDD
Sorry, i don't speak english
Chris Alexander u spelled it good
Chris Alexander u spelled it good
My first ww2 fps those were the times.
wow I miss this game
Played this in my teens. I was looking tough some torrent sites and found this gem of a game currently replaying it in my free time. What an amazing game this is.
Man, the mssion in Medal of Honor: Frontline is EXACTLY the same as this. Except the beach isn't as long...
Frontline did it better (except that it was too short and the mission ends with clearing the bunkers instead of advancing inland and linking up with the paratroopers).
*****
Thats what happened on D'day
really wish game companies would remaster all the games like these would be so worth it
One of the hardest level in games i ever played
Same here especially On hard mode.
I couldn't even get off the beach on hard mode so gave Up
I usually play the call Of duty series nowadays
I bet EA and 2015 Games would make a shitload of money on a remastered version of this game on next-gen systems. Can't even count the huge amounts of time I spent trying to get past those goddamned MG42s, especially on the first foxhole.
This is by far one of my most favorite games butter then cod ww2
Oh my god once it started I was hit with nostalgia
I played this when I was around 5, I'm 16 now. Watching this brings back alot of memories.
One of the best levels in video games history.
lol saving Private Ryan dialogue
я из России
2023 here.
I was born in 1991
Played this when I was 12. had it on pc. When I was 15, 16 years old.
I played this in my PS2 when I was 6 or 7 years old, the good times 😂
Saving Private Ryan: The Video Game
nope
my ass, this game ripped off Saving Private Ryan all over the place.
Bradley Curry it didn't rip off Saving Private Ryan, it ripped of real life
Bradley Curry Rip off my ass. Those lines the soldiers shouted on the amphibious invasion was historical. They shout and scream the same dialogue in every D-Day scene. The most famous line was: "MAMA! MAMAAA!"
not really a famous line just something soldiers said as they were in extreme pain.
Happy 80th anniversary of D-day
Aghhh this brings back so many memories!
This scene captivated me as a kid playing and I don’t even like first person shooters
Imagine the beginning of a WW2 multiplayer match started like this!!!
this game was better than literally anything Cod has put out in years
If you play this level then press Q to holster your weapon during th beach running to run slightly faster
Played when was a kid and loved it since!
My favourite mission was the beach and God how hard it was!
6:54 You shooting a Amercian Soldier XD he is BulletProof XD
8:43 Lel you threw the granade to his head XD
Why so many guy want a remake? This game is the BEST , WITH THIS RETRO GRAPHICS. Just enjoy , and feel the nostalgia. Best atmosphere ive ever seen.
7:05 you had one job
I WANT A REMAKE BECAUSE HE IS TOO COOL!!!
Died so many times at the foxhole at 6:04
+Alex Larvik haha me too, goddamn mines xD
*impact crater
This is one of the hardest stage ever on any game - could my even get off the beach on hard levels
Of all the games with D Day missions i think this one has the best level design
wow this is memorable to me as a kid. the best scene!
Thumbs up if you want Medal Of Honor all episodes remastered with the new Dice Engine and BF1 graphics
i think they need to remake this
Peter Price Cod WW2?
COD WWII I think its the new world war 2 game this days
I mastered that mission.
This, frontline, european assualt, and rising sun were my favorite ww2 games
this and pacific assault were my fave games until cod ww2 came out
this game was my childhood
this is my favorite Medel of Honor game I played this on the pc
This was great when i was young, but its maddening watching your video when you missed loads of the best shots like the explosions throwing people into the air etc...
this is so nostalgic man
Ah a time where games were games and not half finished pieces of crap..
this for beginning of a game was revolutionary back then
helmets popping off was so satisfying, unlike anything I've encountered recently.
yeah the WW2 games of the early 2000s (COD, MOH, Battlefield 1942, Brothers in Arms, etc) were mostly heavily inspired by Saving Private Ryan, and Band of Brothers. And Enemy at the Gates, and several other popular WW2 movies of the time. WW2 went through a real resurgence in popularity
It’s not about the graphics it’s about the game that counts
7:18 grenade!!! boom, the guy is alive, of course.. lol
potato masher runnn!
this was great and my intro to pc gaming...call of duty was another, especially with the modded maps like viking omaha
amazing
My memories about this level mix up with my memories of Saving Private Ryan...
Yeah.
Already thought about that "SPR" just copied this. Everything is exactly like in the movie ^^
Qu Bird Actually it's the other way around. SPR came out in 1998, whereas this game came out in 2002. SPR inspired the entire Medal Of Honor series. Steven Spielberg actually wrote the story for the first MOH. Medal Of Honor began it's amazing series in '99.
FoxHound2364 And I just though it was the other way around.
Well, thank You for this lesson! :D
Qu Bird No prob man :D MOH has always been one of my favorite game series up until the 2010 MOH
Trivia: Spielberg directed both that movie as well as this game.
its not saving private Ryan its medal fucking honor !
a psychobilly cat they had refrances like in the beginning its all the lines from spr
a psychobilly cat ya after finishing the vid and watching it again it has A LOT OF it like when Tom hanks yells covering fire it sounds like the opening movie but game version
remember playing this all day
If I went on Normandy beaches on d-day, I'd not be watching this video
The difference is if this was CoD it was finished minutes ago
Michael Wittman you make no sense
Michael Wittman haaaaa you are a idiot
Airsoft wolf lol Arent you a kid, you have nothing to come back at me so you just flamed. Pathetic
Michael Wittman the poor CoD player was probably just confused by the big words such as "finished", "minutes", or "if"
Michael Wittman haha he deleted his last comments
This is better than today's video games.
This was one of the best games ever released for pc. I’ll never forget my love and many hours I spent playing this amazing title. Games just are not made these days like this. We’ve now reached a point where Genderfield 5 is the new norm. Shame on us.
Today is the 75th anniversary of D-Day.
A legendary game indeed.
game is fucking awesome....respect for those men who died for us
infantry 2017/01/17
this battle was a long time ago...
i miss this game so much
I played this when it first came out. Today I would want it to look real.
When off the boat, you see nothing. All is mist and shots. The first time I played this level, I thought the shots were arrows. xD I think was 15 years old when I played it.
played it as a kid lol was amazing
Wow congrats this video just hit 1M views!
This reminds me of medal of honor frontline but this is 100 times better
Was I the only person that just ran like a maniac straight through. Less time in the water amd on the beach the better.
4:46 US Soldier: heads up Bangalores coming through
Captain: Bangalores clear the shingle
US Soldier: Fire in the Hole
US Soldier: FIRE IN THE HOLE
Captain: get down
igcompany you did a great video man hope youll have many subs in future sorry for my grammar in not english
My grandfather was embarrassed they could compare this to the real thing
Wots dat supposes to mean?
Why wasn't Allied Assault released on consoles? Medal of Honor started on PS1.
This is one of the bloodiest beaches of all time. The total amount of dead on this beach was at least 1000 dead in a couple of hours.
Used to play this so much a long time ago, damn
MOH Frontlines came out the same year, but it looked better. I forgot there was a time when new consoles actually had superior graphics.
i have this game👍
I have this game but I've never taken it out of its box
The Normandy landings.
Nice play D-Day
Almost like MOH Frontline's finest hour mission. Who else thinks the same?
This feels almost as real as Saving Private Ryan dispite the graphics back in the day
