I did the update on my 14900k and it clocks in at 5.6
First time im seeing someone actually use F instead C.
I'm American, won't pretend to be anything else. We use Fahrenheit here in the USA, but I do wish the whole world was metric (I know most of it is) and everyone was reading from the same page. But alas, I only know F when talking about temperature, the C is always something I have to look up and convert to.
Cheers 🍻
Yesterday I bought I9 14900K, Asus Rog Apex Encore. U think I’ll be safe if update BIOS?
Yes, perfectly safe. I think it would be dangerous not to update.
@ idk why people is saying that 14900K is a PC destroyer. I was SO AFRAID my god
Which BIOS update are you talking about?
The latest version from whomever manufactures your motherboard. BIOS firmware is manufacturer specific. The latest BIOS update for 13/14 gen I9's will have the newest Intel 0x12b microcode (aka) firmware already embedded.
What do have the mcmax thing set to ? I have mine set to 400a
Did you mean CPU wattage? I'm running all default Intel settings which is 253 watts. I have manually set a lower thermal throttle limit though. Intel recommends 212 F but I set mine at 190 F. No chip should ever get so hot that it can boil water! But this new microcode update keeps operating temps well below even my custom threshold.
@@Finite-Tuning i meant the iccmax you can go performance or extreme. i ended up going with performace so its 307a the base for heat i havent lost any performance its been running way cooler with the bio upgrade, and my voltages went from wild 1.47 under load to staying at 1.39v with peaks of 1 to 2 s of 1.40v peaks when loading something really intense . i also made the mistake of setting svid to intel failsafe thinking that would be well safe i learned its the max voltage to i was hitting 1.5v putting it to typical has put me below 1.40v
@@Finite-Tuning i also went from running into the high 80c with peaks into 90c playing stalker 2 to high 70c but never going into 80s
@@Chevalier_knight:
Oh I see. I had to double check my setting, I just couldn't remember. My mobo calls it something different, specifically "Intel CPU current" and it's set at 307 amps as well.
@@Finite-Tuning yeh i had it on the extreme setting so it was auto set to 400a putting to the 307a one gave much better heat and volts. was up all night with chatgpt trying to figure this stuff out.
Do you have CPU Performance Problems with this bios ?
No. Same performance with lower temps as shown in the video.
I have i9 13900k and i opened bf2042 and crashed my pc 3 times in a row, but i haven't updated the bios. As a matter of fact i've been having crashes with alot of games. this new bios will fix those issues?
I have no idea, I don't play games. This BIOS will fix the voltage issue with the processor, which may also end up fixing your gaming issues as well.
i have the same issue, currently trying to find out how to update all of this, never had this issue before. every demanding game crashes for me or i get an error saying out of video memory trying to allocate rendering resource
@@erikaserikas8239 :
The BIOS update must be downloaded from your motherboard manufacturer. That will contain the new Intel microcode. Was that your point of issue or confusion?
@@Finite-Tuning yes, that was confusion, thanks for the response, I did the update and enforced the limits, now my games finally work!!!
@@erikaserikas8239:
Nice, I'm glad this solved the problem.
How do you get 4K 12FPS rendering speed? I thought 4090 with 13900K could only reach 4K 6FPS.
Tell me what you do not understand, so that maybe I can help.
@@Finite-Tuning Do you use two 4090 ??
@@KelvinKMS:
No, just one of these --- amzn.to/43zmqO7
@@Finite-Tuning yeah you use Nyx that's why faster. If you use Artemis, you will get around 5~6 FPS
@@KelvinKMS:
Different models can run at different speeds, yes. I've run as slow as 2.2fps....ua-cam.com/video/naV-J1kfZmQ/v-deo.html
It was mostly the temps to cool it people was putting there own power limits in the bios
Curious, I've never seen/read/heard about anyone but me taking control of this chip in BIOS. Lot's of people making lots of noise about "undervolting" this chip, but never doing what I did from day one. Undervolting is ridiculous and not at all what I did to mine. I specifically limited my chip when others were letting it run unlimited. Which again is just a ridiculous notion to let a chip like this run unlimited like that. If there were others doing like me, I certainly wasn't aware. But I did my best to tell everyone to lock this thing down. Doing what they were all doing is just gonna burn it up! It ain't the voltage, it's the current that let's the smoke out.
But regardless, Intel has fixed the issue now, at least according to my real world test results. Synthetic testing, just maxing out a CPU for the sake of it might show a very different story. I really can't comment on that since I have not run any of those arbitrary tests.
Cheers 🍻
@@Finite-TuningI did this with my 13900k but it was too late, I was already BSODing, but a buddy and I on a discord call started noticing this issue WAYYYY before anyone was talking about it. My local micro center thought I was crazy…but ya, I’m on AMD now BUT I wanna come back to 14900k
@@STKReacts :
Just wondering which AMD chip you're running that you want to switch to a 14900k?
@ I’m currently now on a 7950x3d but I have to get on some project lasso because I feel like I’m having some weird issues
@ I also switch up my set up very frequently
Ok but where and how, you don't address how to update the bios you just show what the update does
Read the instructions for your motherboard! They are all different. This is not a "how to update your BIOS" tutorial, this is a show and tell proof of the end result, as clearly stated in the description!
The main test scale should be cinebench
I don't care about synthetics, they're not real tests, but this is! Can't get anymore real than real video work and there is no greater load then rendering real video.
