Thanks for sharing! We often use apple cider vinegar, water, and a couple drops of dish soap(to break the surface tension so when they land they sink) left in a cup on the counter to catch and kill fruit flies. It works great!
+Elaine Knight yes, that works great too. We needed something outside for large quantities and found this so we thought we'd try it. Thanks for watching.
It's so interesting to hear your comments on this as I was reading about it on Tractor Supply and the comments said it had no foul smell. Sounds like from you - it does indeed stink to high heaven. haha
Thanks for sharing this. We get gnats real bad for some reason. All I've ever known to this point is the fly paper or the fly strips. They're so gross. I reckon the gnats would flock to this as well.
Yes, gnats like this too. You can't use this inside though. It would make your entire house stink. Outside isn't so bad unless you get close to it. Thanks for watching.
It's just something my daddy always said. I've never seen one either but his meaning was that they can't be spent so they won't help you much. It might be a good conversation piece though. Thank you for watching.
You just unscrew the top. We always pour it into something that can be closed that we are going to throw in the trash. That way the smell doesn't stay at the house. I hope this is what you meant by your question. Thank you for watching.
I would think the chickens would eat the flies after all they are bugs right ? :) glad to see your using it outside rather then inside with such a bad smell :D thanks for sharing
Yes, they do eat some but there were so many that so few chickens could handle it. It says on the package to use only outdoors. Don't want no funky stuff in the house.
To be honest these fly traps reallly dont work like most want they attract flies is that what you want to attract flies then they provide a chamber to kill them so seriously did this solve or create a problem? You see its the placement these traps really require not the getting rid of flies but the placement you choose to bring the flies to, to move them in an area you hoping to have them go. Sorry but this is a huge thumbs down for me and I have used things like this.
This video was about what I thought about them. It was my opinion. I didn't get paid for it and I purchased the trap. They work for me and that is what I was saying. You are entitled to your opinion as well. But a thumbs down just because you don't like that I like them is quite ridiculous.
Oh, I'm so sorry I misunderstood. Please forgive me. Thank you for coming back and letting me know it wasn't me. I guess I just took it as an insult to me, when I really shouldn't have. Thank you for sharing your thoughts as well.
@@MamaKatsHome My apologies I should have better worded my comment so that you or any would not have read it as such. You see I live out in the pasture area and flies here live in the billions it feels like. So I tried using a product like this but found it didnt kill off the nasty buggers it just drew them near me to only see the bottle fill up by the hundreds yet no real relief so for me I have been like well this sucks. How do I get rid of them not draw them in to just die while drawing more toward me. So I found a lady from another video who said sassafras wood actually repels them not draws them and kills them. So im searching here to find a sassafras tree to cut down and use its bark to repel the bugs. As one lady who did said for three years straight no flies in sight near her chicken hut. So im curious myself to do so so to get rid of the nasty things.
Now I want to find sassafras! That sounds wonderful and these bottles do stink something awful. Maybe you commenting can help others. I have found talking to others through text or commenting and not face to face it is easy to misunderstand ones meaning. I hope there are no hard feelings and we can help each other with ideas in the future. I'd much rather have natural solutions.
Thanks for sharing!

This was so helpful thank you!!!!! Using this for my dogs! I’m tired of flies landing on their ears
You're welcome. It's very stinky but helps.
Thank you for the video! You are so entertaining and accurate!
Thank you for watching.

Oh yes, it does. Smells like something dead, but it works. Thank you for watching.
Exactly what I’m looking for, thanks.
Thank you
Works great here in Minnesota. I have to dump it twice a week
It seems like since we have had it we don't have to dump as often. Maybe once a week, but this thing works so well. Thank you for watching.
Good job, you are too funny
Thank you
You’re the cutest. Love this.
Thank you, this is such an old video but we don't have fly problems now.
Thank you for sharing, thankfully we don't need one, I'm sure hubby would leave it for me to deal with due to the smell😃
Lots of love🙂💓👍
+June Gaul I'm glad you don't need it. Means no pesky flies to irritate you.
Thanks for the Video works great!!

When the trap is full, how do you clean it out to re-use fly trap? Or, do you have to throw away the whole thing?
You can reuse the trap itself. You just pour out the nasties somewhere away from your house so the smell won't be close.
Thanks for the review
Thank you for watching.
Good morning Mama Kat. You are so right. The smell is enough to make you vomiit, lol.
+Laura Living The Life yes, but they work so I deal with it lol.
Where can I get more refills?
I get them from Tractor Supply. They may have them on Amazon too. Otherwise I'm not sure. Thank you for watching.
I've never seen a wooden nickel so I would for sure take one out of curiosity.

@@MamaKatsHome fly trap video is great. I bought one today and I was afraid to open it. 🙃
Thank you. They stink really bad but as long as I was aware that it would stink I was ok.
How do you empty it

@@MamaKatsHome so of the flies are still alive lol Help
No, they die quickly.
@@MamaKatsHome no ma'am my flies are still alive in the jar
@@cristinadueno6008 mine always die! I don't understand how they didn't die.

hehe, funkilicious!
ha ha Yeah, I got a kick out of that, too.
+Rocks Corner yes, it's a word...I've used it for years. 😁
Have you guys not noticed, I say all sorts of crazy made up words...😅
ha ha Believe me, my family has quite a few of those, too. I've heard Scrump-diddly-licious more times than I can count.
+Mellow Mike lol it's a thing
Those chickens are like, get that stinking mess outta here.
They may have thought that lol. Thanks for watching.

I'm glad you found some. They really stink though lol. Thanks for watching.
