Arguably the most anticipated Yamaha professional home keyboard back in the day. It eventually makes way to the creation of the PSR-S series we know today It was a revolutionary model and is notably being the first Yamaha digital keyboard to be (partly) based on a synthesizer platform, namely the EX5 and original Motif from 2001. This tradition continue until today in the newer PSR, Tyros, and also the Genos
In 2002 the Computers were not Advanced ? Not as Advanced as Today but when you compare 20 Years Later and 20 Years earlier they were pretty advanced :-)
Tyros is direct successor of Yamaha PSR-9000Pro (smaller sister of Motif), Color Display Screen, Aftertouch, added Mega Voice Technology & other sound. Unfortunately, it doesn't support format MP3 (Only WAV) Fun Fact : Same spec in PSR-3000 & PSR-S700
Motif is not an arranger keyboard it's a workstation/synth whereas Tyros and PSr-9000 Pro are arrangers. 2 completely different types of keyboards for different purposes. Tyros is for a one man band situation whereas Motif is for music production/midi sequencing.
Note: "Leitmotif 1" refers to the leitmotif that plays at 0:30-0:47, "Leitmotif 2" refers to the leitmotif that plays at 0:47-1:02, and "Leitmotif 3" refers to the leitmotif that plays at 1:02-1:22. 0:30-0:47 Cool! (I wish I had a Tyros...) 1:50-2:05 I know I keep asking this, but what's the style name? It reminds me of Clubdance at the beginning! (EDIT 11/12/18: Oh, yeah! I forgot to tell you that 1:50-2:05 is Leitmotif 2! Also, Clubdance is the third best Style! Second best: Ibiza2004. Best: That one Style I keep talking about... [A.K.A. DreamDance!!!!]) 2:09-2:24 It's Leitmotif 1! 2:39-2:42 Wait! I just realized it's Leitmotif 3! 2:43-2:58 There it is again! 3:00-3:18 And finally, Leitmotif 2. 5:40-6:42 Is this an alternate version of Ibiza2002? Because it sounded different in this video! ua-cam.com/video/EAciHmQkKkI/v-deo.html EDIT 11/12/18: 1. Ignore that link, because it doesn't work anymore... 2. 11:20-12:34 (Facepalms) EDM is the BEST thing I have. And I seriously. Missed. A Dance Style? OH. MY. MOADOT. And the Style is called Ibiza2002. (BTW, Oh, come on!!!! They should've used Ibiza2004, because it's way better... ...It's even my second favorite Style...Oh, wait! They don't even freaking HAVE Ibiza2004 on the Tyros... ...-_-) EDIT 3/23/19: 1. TODAY IS SATURDAY! :D 2. They also should've played the best Dance Style and Yamaha Style ever and my bae, DreamDance-Senpai!!!!
Hi. I am wondering if you know what is the final firmware or update for this wonderful instrument (I have one, since 2006 by the way) . Unfortunately it's actually for repair and I hope it could be like new after that. Thanks for the video.
At 20:52 you have a menu on the screen but now I notice that you must have a T2 and that must have been discontinued somehow. Sorry for not being precise. Regards, Dennis.
The menu you are referring to is a DEMO menu, available when you press DEMO panel button on all Tyros family keyboards. This video you are watching above is about a "Tyros" model (not Tyros-2, which I've recorded as well by the way - see my playlist), and has not been discontinued at least to Tyros-3 model, which is the highest model I've had, tested and recorded - see here for example: ua-cam.com/video/s5nhoQhs2AM/v-deo.html#t=23m53s However, some of sub-sections of that menu might not look the same way, for example Score & Lyrics section which is available in "sub-sectioned" and animated version up to Tyros-3, looks like informative screens only on PSR-S950 (which is a counterpart of Tyros-4 in lower band of Yamaha line-up), so it's quite possible it will have the same "informative" and not "sub-sectioned" look only on Tyros-4 as well: ua-cam.com/video/oe1QCweiOow/v-deo.html#t=21m19s I cannot check now how it looks exactly on Tyros-4, because I've never had this model, but my goal is to check all PSR-S (med & hi band) and Tyros (and Genos) models as soon as I have an opportunity to do so, hopefully it's going to be very soon :)
I trade Yamaha keyboards, so don't keep one for myself. That Tyros you can see on movie came with floppy disks attached, but they were (probably) purchased separately by previous owner. Regarding to Tyros manual, there's only CD included in standard package (CD contains PC software), so all additional equipment - like premium styles disks - must have been sold by particular dealer, which made full setup more attractive to buy. Hope it helps.
Thanks for reply, biuro74. It's true. In fact, the equipment came with two CD's and the mentioned premium style disks. Both CD brought softwares, like the megavoices enhancer which permits change the voices in a previously saved midi.
C'est vrai que si on le compare à ce qui se faisait à l'époque, notamment le PSR9000, c'était quand même vachement meilleur. C'était le sommum, même si la gamme PA de Korg l'a bien dépassé.
Hello , can you send me the main demonstration of the tyros 1 in wav format (.wav) please ? I love Yamaha keyboards so if you can upload the demonstration to google drive or some other page and send me the download link ,I will be very grateful.
Sorry, mate - too much effort. However you can extract the sound from this video as I've put soundtrack in relatively good quality. It's easy - just record "what you hear" using software like Audacity and save it in WAV format. I hope it helps.

We have an old Tyros 2 and I love the Demo songs💚.

Many of the default sounds we hear on PSR models, originated from this keyboard, especially guitar and drums
Yamaha Tyros 1 Released : 2002
For a keyboard that started in the 2000's, I'm surprised they have effects and realistic voices and drum kits
The last demo song ( New Country) is so beautiful. Could you please send its full version to me or upload a new video? Thanks!

For Tyros 2 is the latest firmware V1.31; as far as I know. I installed it today. Late answer: 3 years later....😁

How did you get that menu on the screen? I have a T4 and I can play the voice demos but can't get that menu on screen. Dennis.
Which menu exactly you are referring to, sir ? "That" doesn't say me anything, please specify time on my video at least.
Can you tell me if your floppy disks (voices) came with your Tyros? With mine, only came premium styles floppy disks.
I trade Yamaha keyboards, so don't keep one for myself. That Tyros you can see on movie came with floppy disks attached, but they were (probably) purchased separately by previous owner.
