This time 2 years ago I was very excited because I thought I was getting a Yamaah Tyros 5 ( I had even contacted a seller to clarify that the keyboard doesn't include the LS7 stand as I already have an X stand and don't like the fact the LS7 stand can't even be collapsed ). But due to unforseen circumstances I didn't buy a Tyros 5 in the end but also as Tyros 5 is an arranger keyboard it wasn't really the right sort of keyboard for producing backing tracks in Cubase or Mixcraft so in the end I knew I was better off either sticking to using VST instruments like Halion and Kontakt or/and get a Yamaha Motif XS rack ( although I did also intend to get one of those at a later date and I might get one in the future ). Unless auto accompaniments are your thing arranger keyboards aren't worth buying.
Hi, Dave! Thanks for your interest. The Tyros is no longer made by Yamaha, but they have kept the Ensemble Voice feature in their latest flagship arranger keyboard - the Genos: www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/Genos--yamaha-genos-76-key-arranger-workstation Hope this helps, and feel free to contact me directly if you have further questions! This dude is one of the better demo guys... he showed us some features instead of just playing the piano like most demo guys only show.... didn't over talk it either.... still didn't explain the difference between the Tyros 5 and the XF.... does the Tyros have a built in sequencer? How's the Sax sound... what other lead guitar sounds are there? Lead instrument ability and sequencer ability are key issues and they weren't discussed. Only the mute trumpet sound, and church organs were demo'd... along with splitting up quartet harmonies....
So, Blake these Audio Styles are basically the same thing that PG Music has been doing for quite some time with "Real Drums' and 'Real Tracks' in their Band In A Box product? I'm not surprised to see it in a keyboard, I've actually been waiting for it to happen. So, I guess the next question is going to be, will there be Audio Styles that have more than just the drums? I have a Korg PA800, and would like to upgrade to something newer, either the PA3X or a Tyros 5, but even with that I have now, Band in a Box with Real Instruments and Real Drums provides a sound that I just can't get in any keyboard, currently (except maybe the Audya, and I'm not even sure about that) Of course, BIAB isn't a 'real time' program, which means that the transitions between Real Instrument parts sounds clean, whereas I would wonder about any keyboard attempting to do it 'real time.' I have to admit, though, that Yamaha has the BEST piano sound in an Arranger keyboard. I've loved the Yamaha pianos since the earliest Clavinovas I used to sell. The DSP effects are great. I am also impressed with the Ensemble effects. As to the right chord detect, of course, Korg has had that for a while, but I'm glad to see the Tyros has finally gotten in. LIke I said, I need a new keyboard, and with both the Tyros 5 and the PA3X Pro being at almost the same price point, it's a hard choice to make
You cant really compare this kind of instrument to a pro synth/workstation like the Kronos or Motiff... its two totally different worlds and uses. There are some features I'd love to see from the tyros brought over to pro keyboards, sure, but all in all you dont buy a tyros for band gigs. You can however use a Kronos or comparable for a solo gig with accompaniment (Karma , Arpeggiators)
Brother Blake Angelos, can Yamaha sound engineers programme the code to make the nuance samples set of electric Basses glisses (behaviour) set upwards or downwards when two notes are press together sounds naturally with or without percussions mode within an updatable code set within the Tyros 6 please?
Brother Blake Angelos, Can Yamaha engineers use the joy stick (from KORG) into the Yamaha Tyros 6_76 keys for 2 octaval pitchbend add the Yamaha pitch-bender wheel in Yamaha Tyros 6 and modulation wheel; please give me your opinion about this idea. And also with two flash memory expansion slots as well as SSD than a HDD, please?
Brother Blake Angelos, can engineers from Yamaha add an 16 multitrack sequencer with pattern mode recorder in Tyros 5-76 keys keyboard or into a newer(Yamaha Tyros 6) keyboard? Thank you very much Sir.
Help, my tyros 5 76 keys sound is very low and shallow . I don't feel the sound both the rhythm and voice are low empty. Please, Is there something I can do to get a better sound?
customtheatres you're just dead wrong lol. the sound on the tyros are better than any keyboard I've played. make the kronos x, motif and jupiter 80 keyboards a total joke by comparison. 5500 is rather insane... and being forced to use crappy plastic keys is horrible. worst thing about it is you can't make your own sounds... its an arranger afterall not a synth/workstation. but yeah the sound quality is the best of any keyboard out there by a landslide
***** Wich is one of the features that makes this a really usefull workstation compared to even the top Synth workstations. This is not just another arranger keyboard. You can like you say play the guitar thru the input, add whatever DSP you need and sample the thing .. and then fire the guitarist :)
***** Tyros is an easy play keyboard for many. You can also add the left hand and also install bass pedals too and play manually and not use any automatic intros or endings. The Pegasus Wing looks a lot more easy play.
Unfortunately I see many idiots here and nonsense people with negative atitude to tyros 5...and really can not understand how stupid one must be to say something like some suckers said here..Remember people, today Tyros 5 is number one keyboard without alternative...Tyros 5 is finally something completely different from everything till now...We only can wait the answer from korg,roland,ketron...till then tyros is ultra king of keyboards...amen....and it is because of so many many reasons!!!!!Reality drums, sound like yamaha motif ...one can not recognize das it play by band or is it keyboard...because there is no classic sintetic sound of keyboard anymore...it's the whole new dimension of tehnology and natural sound.
I have it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! from 1 Week and is the Best !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!! Greetings!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Richi
Nooooo... This thing sounds million times better than horrible hell Casio. I have a Casio LK280 and I'm not even playing it, it's sound like shit. Better to watch Yamaha keyboard demonstrations.
My Casio CT-700 came out in 1992 and although I like the gritty lofi sound of 80s and early 90s keyboards it doesn't sound anything like the Tyros 5. I agree if your a producer then the Kronos is a better choice between that or a Tyros 5. If anything Tyros 5 sounds more like Halion, a VST workstation by Steinberg.
Ok not bad. However, the Roland G70 example has much more realistic sounds. This Tyros sounds kind of plasticky and cannot be compared to a professional keyboard.
***** Sorry to say that I listened to the Wersi online and can even tell that it has no comparison in realistic sound to the Tyros. I'll keep my Tyros 4.
Great demo, this guy knows his job

Great presentation!
Can't wait to buy mine
Great demo!
It seems to have a Miles Davis "Blue in Green" setting. But seriously good presenter demoing the Rolls Royce of arranger keyboards, the Tyros 5.
Like all the features, Im sold Im buying one. Sold my Tyros 4 so on to the next
adventure. You only live once I say.
Nice job, Blake !!
7:28 then 8:10 the Ensemble Voice is a great feature. That's just THOUGHTFUL. That is a gorgeous musical feature. Does any other keyboard do this?

People with negative comments about the Tyros 5 here seem to have no experience with this instrument in real life.
É um dos melhores teclados da yamaha
Avi yes
I have the 76. Amazing. I had a kn 7000 for 15 years. It was amazing to.🎹🎹🎹
I want that but i have no money

Best sounding keyboard ever!!!! If you're looking to emulate your favourite 'dendy-games' sounds and melodies

This thing is da bomb! wow
Brother Blake Angelos, can Yamaha sound engineers programme the code to make the nuance samples set of electric Basses glisses (behaviour) set upwards or downwards when two notes are press together sounds naturally with or without percussions mode within an updatable code set within the Tyros 6 please?
This is the Tyros 5, why it does not have touch screen?

sweet
Very impressive. Can you do stuff like this with Ableton Live or some other software and a midi keyboard?
No. This is an arranger
Help, my tyros 5 76 keys sound is very low and shallow . I don't feel the sound both the rhythm and voice are low empty. Please, Is there something I can do to get a better sound?
austin imhontu try some different speakers and amplification ...... Made all the difference for me ~
Thanks Adrian Laurijsen.
Just one question, please. Where are the speakers ?
Sorry if it's too late to reply but the speakers are a seperate unit consisting of two stereo speakers and one subwoofer. Cheers!
$5,500???
For the same sounds as on the $200 PSR 550??
customtheatres Are you sure that this hasn't got more sounds, and higher quality ones?
customtheatres you're just dead wrong lol. the sound on the tyros are better than any keyboard I've played. make the kronos x, motif and jupiter 80 keyboards a total joke by comparison. 5500 is rather insane... and being forced to use crappy plastic keys is horrible. worst thing about it is you can't make your own sounds... its an arranger afterall not a synth/workstation. but yeah the sound quality is the best of any keyboard out there by a landslide
Brian Bernstein No way in hell. Not even in the vicinity of those other boards. That is a total lounge act keyboard.
Do the amp modules work with the audio inputs aswell?
The DSP inside Tyros only work on interanal voices, not in inputs.
Danny Benthien wrong, you can plug an elctric guitar to the microphone input and use the tyros guitar effects!
***** Wich is one of the features that makes this a really usefull workstation compared to even the top Synth workstations. This is not just another arranger keyboard. wow. that is some realistic sounds. not sure I could tell the difference if I closed my eyes
How much rupees in India
5500$ in amazon.com, soo expensive
You only live once and its only money.
***** Plays great and best song support too.
***** Tyros is an easy play keyboard for many. You can also add the left hand and also install bass pedals too and play manually and not use any automatic intros or endings. The Pegasus Wing looks a lot more easy play.
Great sound but what speakers are being used ?
ColinW it comes with speakers on the side

Tyros is the best workstation in the world
had Quick sampling and else
Can Tyros 5 BEAT korg Pa4x?
+SURENDRA L hey ! korg is the best keyboad
It depends on who’s playing🤷🏾♂️
I remember having a Casio in 1992 that sounded like this lol... Sorry but not in the same class as the Kronos
TheChrisnab100 They are not meant to be in the same class it’s a different market.

I work my tyros with big speakers
oly one person to explain well is #theman #MarcoParisi
Um.....to me the bigggggest feature for T5, is "76 keys"
done like n surcribe
outside of the pipe organ it sounded like yuck. his demo starts out making the tyros 5 sound like a music player not a keyboard.
gotta fire the orchestra too
ithonk
This is a horrible demo for an amazing product. Fire this guy.
Sooo True
I WOULD NOT BUY YAMAHA NO MORE, YOU WILL NOT BE HAPPY WHEN YOU CALL THE CUSTOMER SERVICE, THEY ARE RUDE AND HAVE NO PATIENT TO HELP
i think the kn. 7000 sounds better.
very thini sound crap
+John s Kokas you seem to have very cheap speakers/ headphones
Yea, like I would sell my Tyros 4 to buy this? I don't think so! Good try Yamaha!
***** The Wing is a Joke I played one.
***** Sorry to say that I listened to the Wersi online and can even tell that it has no comparison in realistic sound to the Tyros. I'll keep my Tyros 4.
