*i don't terrorize Gotcha with scary things to get a reaction out of him for social media views. It's important to teach/show them not to be afraid of everything that moves, makes noise, lights up, or looks different. There are correct ways and incorrect ways to introduce "scary" things. This is a correct way.*
Over the years Gotcha has overcome so many fears. I've encouraged him in calm and gentle ways not to be fearful of "silly things".
He was afraid of most everything when I brought him home.
It's important to help them see and to reassure them that objects and toys etc aren't going to harm them.
If we don't show them this then they will continue to live in constant fear of new and different things. That's no way to live!
You can see how quickly he went from POOFED and defensive to calm and relaxed. This is in part due to the work I've put in over the years but also my calm and relaxed demeanor. I would never introduce him to anything that will cause him harm, he trusts me and he's so brave!
I'm so proud of him, he's come such a long ways. This toy is a scary one! But he realizes very quickly that it isn't going to harm him 😊.

❗️❗️❗️85% of parrots are either resold, given away, or abandoned within just 2 short years of being purchased. ADOPT DONT SHOP! Rescues are full of these wonderful birds, neglected, abandoned, and thrown out by inexperienced and most uneducated people that didn't know the kind of work and commitment it takes to have birds. STOP UNNECESSARY BIRD BREEDING FOR PROFIT, and help these magnificent creatures.
If you are unable to adopt then please consider donating to a rescue/sanctuary that volunteers their time to help these animals in need. 💚
I cannot stress enough how heartbreaking this sad truth is.... Too many people impulse buy parrots because of cute or funny traits they've seen in other birds. ❗️No two parrots are alike...
A life stuck in a cage is cruel and so unfair to these magnificent beautiful creatures.
They deserve the absolute best!
So if you are interested in a parrot, please research, volunteer at a parrot rescue/sanctuary, KNOW what you're getting yourself into before you take on the work that comes with loving and homing a parrot.
Parrots are a LIFETIME commitment. They can live up to 80+ years!!
I've given up many many things to give my two parrots the best life they can possibly have! (Night out, gone on weekends, vacation time, a clean quiet house, extra money.. Etc.)
But to me it's all worth it, my parrots are my family and I love them like my children!
Please DO YOUR RESEARCH before adopting.
After all, we have our friends, our jobs, and our hobbies...
They only have us💗❗️❗️

I think Gotcha relaxed a little seeing that Ollie was not scared. This is going to be interesting watching them learn from each other. I wonder if they will both learn better English from each other or invent their own language? I like what you said in the description. They do need to learn not to be terrified of everything; what a scary world that would be?

Gotcha is awesome and Ollie is adorable! He reminds me of my son at that age, he's 22 now. I have always wanted a cockatoo but, I know that I wouldn't have the time to properly care for one like you do. So I guess I'm living vicariously through you. I do have a Senegal parrot, Jake (Aka Jake the Flake) who is 20 years old now and he is perfect for me. He talks non stop and makes fart noises (I didn't teach him that 😨) And yes, he was a rescue from a bird hoarder here in CA. SAD situation. He was 3 days old when I took him in so I had the privilege to hand feed him and we have an incredible bond. Similar to you and Gotcha. Thank you for sharing these great videos! I seriously can't wait to see what Gotcha does next! 💕

You do a great job with him. I have a friend who has an African Grey that is afraid of everything. I'm not certain that my friend spends enough time working with new toys, etc. to get her Grey past the fear. Most new toys are never used.
ahhh :( see and thats a great example to why Katy/Katie is introducing him to new things to overcome his fear. if she wouldnt, then he too would be afraid of everything :(

Battle floof engaged! I love it when Gotcha goes popcorn - not because I like to see him scared of course, just that he looks so cute. And because he calms down so quickly with his mom there to always reassure him and keep him safe. Gotcha looks as impressed with this toy as he did with Mother Goose!! You are certainly a wonderful parront to Gotcha and Letty. I love hearing oth of them and seeing them both enjoy life. I am also VERY HAPPY to see you are raising Colby to not be fearful of birds and how to properly play with them and the birds actually being an a tual working part of your family and not JUST PETS, because birds especially ARE NOT PETS, THEY ARE COMPANIONS AND INTELLIGENT CREATURES.
