My son used that hair dye phenomenon when you get confused and a little freaked out when the person in the mirror isn't who you expected to explain how he feels when he first told me he was trans. It was a good analogy because I've definitely startled myself with new colors!
@ashcraft555 good analogy! I personally don't suffer from gender dysphoria, but I absolutely *love* that little sense of surprise whenever you look in the mirror after a new color or haircut/style!
My favorite Versed product by a landslide is their Baby Cheeks Hydrating Milk Facial Toner. One of the best lightweight but deeply hydrating toners from a non-korean brand. I highly recommend it for oily-combo skin or those in warmer climates. Also a great layerable toner based on ur hydration needs. I've always seen Versed as like the direct opposite of Bubble. Both are affordable brands, but I feel Versed formulation budget leans more towards "impressive" ingredient list, but pretty okay textures. Whereas Bubble textures feel much more elegant to me (like if you blindfolded me and I used their vitamin C, I would think it was a $40 dollar american brand for example), but the ingredient list are more "basic" and simplistic (although I dont necessarily think that's a bad thing). It's why I always lean more towards Bubble. This texture vs ingredient focus for more budget brands is why I have always disliked the Ordinary. Often impressive formulations for the price, but awful textures imo.
It’s so funny you mention this as bubble also just released a cleanser with the exact same name. However, I don’t think it will be an issue as the brands are worlds apart in ways that are hard for me to put into words! Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the toner! Do you have a trick to keep the product from spraying out the sides? 🙂
Canadian here! I love the doctors visit exfoliating mask too! Perfection. I also 100% agree with you- with K and J Beauty, the sunscreens are just better due to the same North American regulations. There is no comparison. FYI...I love your content. Keep up the great work and have a lovely weekend.
Yeah, it’s just such a frustrating situation all around (and so many of us have been calling for change for years upon years 😣). Hopefully someday the U.S. catches up. Thank you, hope you have a great weekend too ☺️
I'm still mad at versed. One of my holy Grail products was their emergency eye mask. It was the only product that got rid of the little lbit of puff I had without over drying my under eye skin. I LOVED THAT EYE MASK. The brand told me it was dcd to make room for new products. That was at least 1.5 years ago. They did come out with the new eye serum, but from what I've seen from other creators is that it's nothing like the emergency. When I first discovered the eye mask, I also tried a bunch of their products and didn't find one that I didn't like. BUT, bcz they dcd my fav product, I moved on from the brand completely. Side note- I am so so very happy that you and your loved ones made it thru the hurricane unscathed! When I saw your pre hurricane vid saying you were hunkering down, I thought, yep, is be right there with ya sister! Sending much love your way!!
It’s frustrating!! And I feel like they’ve gotten rid of quite a few of the products people really liked too (I remember that eye mask, it was great indeed!!) Thank you so much, I’m just so incredibly glad that we are going into a weekend without hurricane-related stress. I hate hurricanes!!
The moisturizer works well for me under another moisturizer to add oomph when I need it. Some days, my skin is not content with my normal routines and needs a little more help. This works well for that.
Yes! I remember being so excited about the sunscreen and being super disappointed. I’m so glad you did this! I probably wouldn’t circle back! Versed is on my prochoice list❤❤❤
Absolutely adore versed's salicylic acid cream cleanser and their body retinol. Make such a difference to my skin! Hoping they never discontinue those especially as cream cleansers arent super common anyway and especially with salicylic acid in a way that isnt uber irritating. I am going to have a look for their normal cream cleanser here in the UK to see if they sell it here soon. Thanks for the review for this great brand and the heads up on the normal cream cleanser too! :)!
@AliceintheRabbitHole that's the one! It's £15.50 at full price here! Still worth it tbh for me as it's only a little more than the cerave salicylic cleanser that my skin hated ha. Tried several other gel cleansers *both normal and for acne, and never got on with any of them. Is there anything else other than cream cleansers you'd suggest btw? So many of the "gentle" ones are gel :/ and there aren't many cream cleansers that don't have actives in or need a cloth to wash off properly?
I do think you’d like this new one as it rinses away quite nicely (MUCH better than gentle cycle did) Do you use bpo cleansers? I actually quite like panoxyl’s as my acne fighting cream cleanser
I’m on my last bottle of Auto Save, which sadly I believe is one of their discontinued products. I really like it as a moisturizing boost in the morning and it has this slightly odd charcoal-y smell that I kind of really love 😂
Thank you for the lovely video, Alice! I was hoping to see more products that were not featured in the previous video on Versed. I'm so sad you didn't try their new body products yet - the retinol body cream & AHA body exfoliant. The retinol eye balm looks super interesting too. I hope you have some time to review them in the future. Take care & much love
Alice! Hi! Love this updated review! I also really love the cream cleanser as well! In fact, I mix a bit of clay powder with it to use as a mask when I’m breaking out :)
Speaking of color on my face - I only usually wear lip products that are clear or have a slight tint (nude color) - I know very boring. Have a lovely night, Alice! 🌸💮🌸
I don’t think it’s boring as much as that everyone is different. Some people like makeup, other prefer not to wear it, regardless we all make up a diverse world - which is pretty neat! 😎 Hope you have a great rest of your evening too! 🥰
I actually think AHC takes the crown for product upgrade policies. They keep the line a clear collective of products while coming out with a new/improved formula, generally with similar ingredients for a similar purpose, but the new releases are labeled and old.verisions remain available. Missha gets 90% there by making sure every formulation has a different name (albeit in smaller writing) and by advertising the differences between new and old formulas so customers shouldn't be caught flat-footed. Also when there's a significant deviation they make 2 products available (Like the first essence enriched or Homme). The last level of update I feel is appropriate is an Interface like upgraded where the name doesn't vhanged but marketing and advertisement clearly focus on differences in the new formulation. The worst case situations are where there's a meaningful change (like changing l-ascorbic acid to a derivative or dropping the percentage of actives substantially) and/or where you only find out about a reformulation when you look at the full ingredient deck.
I love when reformulations are clearly labeled! I do feel like k-beauty is better about this vs western brands. And yeah, there have been some HUGE changes without a peep from the brand (I remember folks being very frustrated with first aid beauty over this for example!)
Hi Alice, I haven't had the pleasure of trying anything from the brand because it's not available in Chile, but it doesn't matter because I can buy imported K-Beauty products and I have many options 🥳 You know, a few days ago I went to a dermatologist and she told me what I suspected, I have rosacea and she gave me some recipes for personalized creams. One for the morning that has 5% niacinamide, tranexamic acid, hyaluronic acid and alpha-bisabolol and another for the night with 10% azelaic acid and I thought about the controversy of tranexamic acid, but studying the formula that she made, alpha-bisabolol, apart from being soothing, is an ingredient that enhances the penetration of other active ingredients, so I hope to have good results. The discovery of alpha-bisabolol is interesting, isn't it? Alice, I hope you're calm now after all the events that you had to go through due to the hurricane. A big hug 🥰
Those sound like great treatment options! Yeah it is funny isn’t it - I think the biggest problem with tranexamic acid is just that it’s understudied. It’s so frustrating. Thank you! I am beyond thrilled to just have a calm, restful weekend. No hurricanes or hurricane prep, WHEW!! 🥳🎉
Wow! There are quite a few that someday I would like to try - most likely I would not buy the cleanser and face balm. I did see checking out our online Canadian retailer that sells Versed - there is a lip oil that I would definitely try. Interesting thought about people who don't wear makeup (I don't wear makeup - but lips and lashes) - I do avoid skincare that has a tint - not because I don't like color, but I really am just not used to having any kind of color on my face. I remember my first time trying a tinted sunscreen - I thought I looked like a clown (in my mind - I felt like I was wearing heavy clown makeup) - I know in reality it probably wasn't as bad - but I just can't get used to tinted skincare. ❤❤❤
Versed is one of those brands that I've had on my radar for years now, but I've still never actually tried them. Primarily because they're only available at a couple online stores for me, and those online stores are not my regular ones... And none of them stock all their products. I still see them in the drugstore but don't see anyone talk about them and the products never seem to sell much. I remember I used the cleansing balm and it was awful, it absolutely stank , so never used the brand again. It was a disappointing brand overall, I did not like a single product, they also don't release all their products in the UK anyway
Yup lol, they were everywhere then!

We never get the good products in Canada so I've never tried Versed.
