It's interesting watching all these videos you put out, it gives us an unfiltered idea of the struggles of beekeeping on a commercial scale. Some looks fun, most is hard, and the decisions are lonely and played out infront of us to critique. You earn your Bailey's in your coffee, even when you're not being a pain. Lol Thanks again Ian
It looks to me that the Kiwis tube shipping thingy is a lot better, less cumbersome, quicker to transfer to the hives and probably a lot cheaper than those plastic boxes. I hope those bee suppliers watch your videos and have seen them
Those packages look great , nice and calm and loads of bees. I am sure after the long drive and long day installing them you will sleep well. I am more a fan of those tubes, seems easier to install.
When everyone tells you rest well I will say welcome back to reality. You remember me the way we used to do beekeeping in Romania, traveling whole nights relocating bees to different flowers: from rasp flowers to acacia flowers and then to linden flowers and then sunflowers. I like that queen. What genetic ?
Well your stock is growing... been an interesting and dry spring here in indiana... these girls put 2 full boxes of honey some 3 ... never had a spring harvest before.. mild winter mild dry spring... indiana
I think he will come back in a day or two to release the queen, and then put the rest of the frames in, and I doubt they will have had time to start building comb
I think shaking it in is more certain for a large operation. What if the wind blows the package off the lid, or the bees don't move down into the hive and the queen starves, or any number of other possible things that could happen.
Ian, I don't comment often, but watch many if your videos. I'm just south of you on the Minnesota side. Anyways, what's your thoughts on these plastic packages and what is done with them after you install the bees? Years ago, the Wooden packages had a deposit on them and need to be returned to the supplier. So, that's what's driving the question....just curiosity.

If you dream it will only be good dreams!! What terrific looking nucs! Enjoy your well earned rest!! 🥂😎
Some of them are getting ready to draw that 6th comb. Better put something in before they make a mess

You look like you could sleep for 24 hours 😂😂 been a long trip but I sure love the end result ❤

great job with nice swarms and good queen but the most important is your hard work good luck
Why do I get the feeling you are going to be cleaning comb out of those empty frame slots VERY shortly 😂 rest well.

Sweet! Need that 6th frame already! Time for a nap!
The tube packages seem easier to use and less waste. The only question is do they survive as well with less air flow.
I don't think I've ever seen you look so tired.
So when are you going to bring a semi truck load of bees out to BC to get an early start on your year?
I'd say it's time to recharge by the lake.
Sleep well , you earned it.
Жуда ажойиб 👍🐝🐝
Honours Sir
I love the red queens! I made some beauts this year!
I think I would have left her in with the bees, unless you think they leave.
Exactly
Travailler en famille c'est très bien .
Now you need some good Alberta genetics to top things off!
:)
How do they make that gel bee feed in those packages.. any idea ?
Sugar and gelatine
Bom dia amigo aqui do brazil faz um fidibeck comjgo sobre onde encontro esses equipamentos pra transportar as abelhas por favor
It's a good thing bees are not considered as pets, like dogs, otherwise I'd hate to have to pay the license fees for each of them... 😂😂😂😂😂
Oh I got 4 separate permission documents
@@aCanadianBeekeepersBlog but at least it's not a separate one for EACH BEE! lol
Those look like they can make a crop

Looked like he reused the black ones... I like the white packages .. seems easy to Carry it
Disposable. These were all second hand packages so I’ll probably keep them for another use
Summer crew?
The first complement of my summer staff
Stopped shaking packages long ago. Too slow and messy.

Seems like a lot of work!
Do you like being hot, sore, sticky and stung? Then that's the job for you.
