Been a Chevy guy all my life. Looking to buy a truck soon and been doing a lot of research. After watching reviews like yours, the Ram is at the top of my list.
I've owned Chevy and Ram. I currently still have my 2015 ram limited that I bought new. At 8 years old it has been great. All the leather still looks good. Everything still works including the air ride suspension. My chevy's never held up as well. You can't go wrong if you switch.
Thanks for being honest about the display. I'm about to get a new RAM and I really like the look of 12" screen but I've been wondering wheter it can be trusted or not. Especially here in Finland where it might be -30 celsius or more in winter and -20 is very normal. I really doubt how well the display performs in changing conditions and year after year...
I have a 2021 Ram 1500 Limited Longhorn V-8, 5.7 Hemi. I live in Mn, USA. Where it gets just as cold -20 to -30 Below Zero Fahrenheit. ( or -28.8 to -34.444 Celsius ) Zero Problems with it. Air ride, the power running boards, the 12 inch screen, Ect....

We have a jeep compass 2022 and it has full of problems. Back up camera shuts down then it's very dark. Engine light is on so went to the dealer and they said the chip will come in around 6 months. Mind you, this is a brand new suv. 6 months later, we waited 6 months and brought the SUV in. When we drove off thdd same problem. No resolution so we called back and he said there's nothing we can do. I hate dodge!
I was thinking of trading my 2014 Sport with every option except air suspension. (72,000 miles). Seeing the current insane prices made my decision easy.
My air ride failed and almost killed me and my family. It's great when it's working but be careful people with the air ride. It hates the cold as well.

You nailed it! I have the lonestar sport so I don't have the options you have but similar problems. My screen when stupid on me today and wouldn't respond to my satellite radio commands. Screwing around with it for about an hour and everything came back. Ironically my salesman called while I was stressing over the problem...lol. Aside from that I like the truck. Owned many vehicles before but this 2022 RAM 1500 Lone Star Sport is my 1st truck. If I can squeeze 200-250k out of it I'll be ecstatic!
I have the same truck but with the ecodiesel. Love the features but the 12"display is not as flexible as I'd hoped. The back up camera is the top half of the screen and 1/3 of that top half is the surround view. In other words the backup camera is only 2/3 of the top half. The other gripe is head room. I don't have the sunroof but have the electric seat and at 6'3" I have zero room between the top of my head and the roof and I have to duck down to see stoplights. The drive train is also a disappointment, I traded a 21 Sierra 1500 with the 3.0 diesel and 10 spd transmission and compared to that setup the ram is ridiculously slow and course and the diesel sound is always present. The Sierra diesel was quite and surprisingly fast for a diesel...i mean really fast. The 8 speed ram is also very course compared to the 10 spd. If I could put the ram cab on the gmc diesel Powertrain you would have the perfect truck

I have a cadillac, so if I want luxury, a large touch screen, sunroof, I'll drive it. The truck is STRICTLY FOR FUN LOL
I have a 2020 Ram Big Horn. Fantastic truck. No negatives. Get the 8.5 inch screen. They’ve ironed out all the bugs and it’s flawless. I gave the Hemi and never had an issue with the transmission. Smooth as can be. It’s comfortable and easy to drive. I’ll be keeping mine a long time.

Wish the Limited was the 8.5” screen. Lots more physical controls, which I like (especially since I’m coming from a car that has all physical dials and stuff). I get that you CAN have an option with the 8.5” screen, but I haven’t seen it on a truck with the other options I want Oh, and, the air suspension is a fairly big reason why I’m looking into the Limited trim. I was going for a Laramie, but
If you haven’t bought one yet, have you thought about building and ordering one online the way you like it? I built my Challenger exactly how I wanted and I love it.
I have a 2017 Laramie Limited, 8.5" screen, long bed crew cab. Awesome vehicle, rides and handles beautifully. No issue with screen, transmission, or standard tailgate (I crafted a hitch-based step for easier bed access). The newer model is enticing, but honestly, I'm having a hard time justifying the "upgrade". There is no doubt, however, that new owners will love the Ram.
I have a 2022 Limited Longhorn, non e-Torque. The transmission is silky smooth. I'm wondering if the jerks you are describing are related to the e-Torque system. I drove a limited with e-Torque, and I preferred the standard gas version of the Hemi. Honestly these are some of the best transmissions made (for the Hemi's). My research indicates they are produced in Germany, and are put on luxury cars like Rolls Royce. Agree with your points though overall, and thanks for the great review. Love mine so far!
I have 1 2022 Bighorn with the V6 Etorque. I don't find the tranny to be harsh at all. In fact, I find the Etorque to be almost transparent in operation. While I can feel it kick in, its' very subtle (though it doesn't deliver as much torque as on the Hemi). SO I agree with you on the tranny, but disagree with your comments on the Etorque. And yes, I'm very happy with getting 22+mpg in mixed driving with the V6, and don't miss the power of the bigger V8 (I'm a pretty conservative driver). The truck has more than enough power to fit my needs, and will definitely get out of its own way.
I have a 20 ram with the 12 screen. No issues with the older unconnect. I've heard that they are working out the bugs on the new system. I also have the Hemi the the mild hybrid. The transmission is perfect. Smooth and responsive. Never rough. I love this transmission. All in all I have no complaints. 😊
So let me get this straight. Your #2 dislike is the fact that they don't offer a hybrid for the Ram but, you prefer a V8 over a hybrid?? You can't have it both ways pal. make up your mind.
The dislikes are in no particular ranking…but it’s for those who would want a hybrid. I don’t do this video for myself…I do it so others are aware. Now that some others offer a hybrid or full EV, Ram has some catching up to do. But yes, I still prefer a V8 myself…but the option to choose what powertrain you want is ideal
Why do most of you guys rely so heavily on wild hand and arm gesturing throughout your review ? It looks as though you think your audience doesn't understand English. It is so annoying that it is difficult to watch the entire review. Put your hands in your pockets and use your mouth and your brain. You look ridiculous.
Great video. Looking into my first pickup truck. I like to keep my cars for 10 plus years, so I am looking for something reliable and easy to diy fix. The screen issue scares me. Seems like software needs an upgrade to resolve most issues.
You cant buy a new car or truck that is DIY anymore. You cant even change a headlight in most. They are designed to be user unfriendly and adding computers and screens just guarantees bugs, lag, and updates. Sounds like i am complaing, but im not. My next car will probably be a tesla or some kind of hybrid. Its just they way it is now.
Some of us have handicaps that don't allow for use of cars, but trucks, with easier ingress/egress are great. Although, being in Phoenix, I don't need heated seats. 🙂

Thanks!
Nolan WOW.
👍👍👍😍😍😍😍
F150 for life
I don't understand why the rear windows are not auto up/down and, especially in the Limited trim, the steering columm is still manually adjustable.
I remember back in the day we'd install stall speed converters in our transmissions..now that was some hard shifting
And you’re the first person to complain about it…so it must not be that terrible.
@@PrimeAutotainment ok must be my problem, carry on
Lol, I’m sorry it’s excessive. Certainly not my intention
Fully Loaded? There goes the Payload. Buy a truck do to truck activities! Tow stuff, haul stuff! If you want luxury and heated seats get a sedan!
Or people can just do what they want with their own money, and maybe, just maybe, their truck needs aren't the same as yours.

@@J_415_ brilliant.
@@michaels7984 there's always at least one of these jokers 😆
Some of us have handicaps that don't allow for use of cars, but trucks, with easier ingress/egress are great.
Although, being in Phoenix, I don't need heated seats. 🙂
