I think for the price they should have made the extra effort and dug down the basement so it's actually usable, they could have even made the area into a decent gym or guest suites. 🤔
Digging down the basement wouldn’t increase the square footage. It would just make it taller! Hence why it’s only being used for the laundry and 3 storage areas. I’m don’t think many people spend an extraordinarily large amount of time in those spaces anyway. So why spend the money when I know I won’t see VALUE actually added? That’s silly
Another beautiful home. This one is very tastefully decorated and looks like it would feel very warm to live in. What a fabulous kitchen and the entrance to the cellar is so cool.
Not worth it. Just build a new palace for that money with modern construction & finishes in West Sussex or similar near a railway 45mins into Victoria. I work a lot on buildings in London (and live there) and it’s just not worth the prices people are paying. It’s old housing stock including the utilities to it.
Beautiful house with a decent garden and car parking space. Apart from too much wood, old style kitchen and low ceiling basement, the house could be easily flipped to whatever style wanted.
For 4 Mill and it not to have full climate control is a no go. And I actually grew up in Barnes so I know the aircraft noise from Heathrow is horrendous.
The washing machine needs to be relocated to the place where dirty laundry is created. It was obviously put underground by someone who has never washed their own clothes!
@@ceeletter5772 don’t think so, but even if they did have a laundry chute it only goes down. Try carrying a pile of towels & bedding up 3 flights of stairs.
@@grigorisgirl also not practical to have people who are not part of your nuclear family going in and out of your kitchen whilst you have your friends round, etc. Unless of course the whole area is populated by Cook, Kitchen Maid, Butler etc. 🙄
It’s unfortunate that we are in a era of minimalism which I won’t deny it does work i certain environments but for the cold dark and grey country like the uk, it just doesn’t seem to work well in a period property!
I'm afraid that basement at 4:25 really put me off (not that I could afford £4 million anyway). Who's going to take the trouble to keep on descending into it every time they want to do some laundry? I had visions of getting stuck down there and being unable to get back up to the main house again.
Kind of reminds me of Chicago a little bit, in the middle of the city is some kind of normal houses... this is got a quaint little Georgian feel to it.
This house would have probably been worth more before they did the work, and ripped the soul out of it. Nothing of the old charm remains on the inside. This is not the usual development, it has been done by an architect who knows what he is doing, but the brief was too aggressive, I think. Nothing about this house says home. No wonder they are selling up. I fear the price tag may make it linger, especially in this market.
Love this one b/c the interior design is obviously updated & very nice but, but even though modernized, still has a traditional feel. Love period homes & interior design to match, but ALL too often, all that can be found are beautiful historical exteriors & developers design FULLY contemporary interiors which just don’t match the edifice of the building or even the original interior architecture/bones of the building….sorry, but just a major pet peeve of mine.😏
Too much noise pollution and quirky lights. It's as if Home Depot had a final sale on various lighting fixtures. Nice built-ins are somewhat posh. Reshoot video on a sunny day; otherwise, it comes across as depressing.
Too old clustered and ugly for that price, London is ridiculous. You could get a duplex penthouse in dubai, all new and modern with amazing views for that price
I think for the price they should have made the extra effort and dug down the basement so it's actually usable, they could have even made the area into a decent gym or guest suites. 🤔
“Digging down” into basements is vulgar and inner city.
Not on Barnes, people tend not to approve all that
@@aliyahhas2867 correct…a vulgarity

@@mikewinston8709 Get a grip, it's Barnes not Belgravia. It''s South London ..... 🤔🤪🤣🤣🤣
It's a bloody downstairs toilet, not a powder room. This is England, not USA.
I'd just call it a loo.
Also why pronounce vase in the American way when you are obviously British!
Yes.
I am sick of this amercanism

Elegant property with great rooms, just not a fan of so much wood. Beautiful lighting throughout.
Not worth it.

Dislike the orangey coloured wood decor - very 70s feel to it. Not how I would spend 4 mil
very good home but no way near worth 4.1 mil

Come on, what do you expect for 4 million quid in the UK…. A house with a garage? 😂
For 4mill if I don’t have all ensuite rooms then there’s a big problem😂
Lovely home, you normally show a map as to how close to central London etc ? Great presentation!
I'd have to stop for a rest going from the cooker to the fridge.
4 million and you still have a bus driving past your window
Lol Right
Handy if you want to travel by bus though. 😉

Gorgeous properties you are showing in beautiful England.
All the properties I've seen are tastefully furnished and maintained.
Thats a nice home for some lucky people, wish it was my family living there.
Nope not for me..what’s with the brown wooden wardrobes and brown wooden wardrobe closet…outdated…
Nice family home but for that price I would expect a much bigger garden. I don’t like the wood though it looks very 70’s.
It’s Barnes so will be expensive
£412,000 stamp duty for this. Insane. Barnes is so overpriced, it's unbelievable.
All those hall baths. Really, a £4,000,000 boarding house! Yikes.
Shame about the black floor in the kitchen. To match the worktops? Really strange.
lol, you are so right.
Please it's Toilet and not "Powder Room" or water closet let's leave the America phrase. There is now powder there or drinking fountain but a toilet

Brits love their tiny refigerators.
Location based, i guess. Lovely home, but not 4.2m lovely... 🙃
175000 for the actual home , 4 mil for the location
Is there another entrance to the utility room besides going through that room

I know what you mean'; it's been interior decorated to within an inch of its life. I'd like to know how much all the interior work and panelling cost.
Powder room 😂 ??? Toilet 🪠🚽

I agree, they kept the staircase which is nice. Some of it is a bit modern for me
This would make a fabulous guest house.
Lmao Jaz is maad! Tom how do you get work done man? 😂 proper house! Love this one great review as usual
When did you show the garden ? 😮
Its very bland and very over neutral. All the wood is a bit much and I feel they're missing a lot of period features.
when is a table not a table ? when it's a 'piece' ! An overused word for an expensive item that was chosen by a designer for the owner.
