    Would be cool if you had PCBs available for people that want to make a more permanent version of each synth.

    • @techwillsaveus
      @techwillsaveus  8 років тому

      +tonalaxis thanks for your message! There are ways to fix the components into the breadboard to make it more permanent. A glue gun can help you secure the components on the breadboard therefore have a more permanent board! I hope that helped?

      +Technology Will Save Us not really a good solution, I've got into making and soldering my own on perfboard because I was inspired by the Synth Kit. Surely as techwillsaveus do other kits that are soldered the next step would be to sell a Synth kit with a Printed Circuit Board?? Maybe 3 different kits could then be made available??

      +tonalaxis Happy to hear that DIY Synth inspired you to move forward and make your own. Thanks for the idea. I'll forward it to R&D! :)

    My son and I were trying to get this together...but noticed that our 3 potentiometers are black, not green two are labelled B470K and one is A22K. Have the wrong potentiometers been included in the kit?

    • @techwillsaveus
      @techwillsaveus  4 роки тому

      Hey there, thanks for reaching out and so sorry for the confusion. On the manuals, we reference the value of the Black potentiometers. If your kit includes the Green ones - worry not! They function exactly the same:
      The Green 470KA are the same as the Black B470K
      The Green 2K2B are the same as the Black A2.2K

    I got it to work! it cuts out at seemingly random times and then comes back on after a few moments or button pushes. Any clue on what I did wrong?

    • @jcuk000
      @jcuk000 7 років тому

      Mine does the same. Doesn't stutter, so much as cut out at random intervals. Built it twice and still does the same.

    • @l4s4gn3l0v3r
      @l4s4gn3l0v3r 7 років тому

      one of the knob turner things changes the stutter timing. i thought it was cutting out too but i realised its just a really looooooooooong period between sounds. just keep holding your button on and you'll see they're really long pauses. idk why it's so long

      @@l4s4gn3l0v3r maybe you got the potentiometers around the wrong way (wrong values), or perhaps used the wrong capacitors or resistors in the wrong places?

    0_0 Did they send me a broken product?
    Nah... I just twisted it both ways and they all fell out. good thing I have another kit with a speaker which leads me to my question. Will a speaker that didn't come with the kit work?

      Hey there, thanks for reaching out and so sorry to hear your synth is playing up. That's no fun at all, so let's troubleshoot!
      Can I ask you to double-check all the components are fitting snuggly to the board? It's also worth giving the bottom left potentiometer a good twist as this controls the volume.
      Still no luck? Can I ask you to pop us over a few images of your kit to support@techwillsaveus.com We'd love to take a peek and see if we can spot where things may have gone wrong?

    Hello, does anyone know if you can connect this synth to a pocket operator and be synced?

    • @GrannyBender
      @GrannyBender 6 років тому +2

      You can't.
      Basically, to sync with other devices, the pocket operators are listening through a mini-jack plug for a regular "click" sound.
      When you are using multiple pocket operators, it's using only one channel of a stereo mini-jack to mini-jack cable to send the "click", the other channel is used to send the sound played by the pocket operator to the other. (try using the different sync mode on the pocket operators while having stereo speakers or headphones, you will hear this regular "click" sound in one ear, and the sound of your pocket operator in the other ear)
      The main problem is that: this synth have no stereo jack plug and is not emitting this "click" sound. It miiight be possible with some moding, but I think there are easier alternatives if you absolutely want to have a synth connected to your pocket operators.

      Hi there! Thanks for your message. Make sure the legs of all components are straight. Thre breadboard is design to fit components legs therefore it should fit. If you can't still fit them please contact support@techwillsaveus.com and our customer service maestros will help you!! :)

    I realized after watching some videos that I put in the IC Chip upside down. I got it all put together following the manual and then when I connected the battery, it didn't work, but the IC Chip got hot. After I saw the video, I took it apart and turned the IC Chip so the little notch is at the top like it should be. I got everything back together and it still doesn't work. I notice now that the IC Chip is no longer hot when I connect the battery. I worry I blew it out somehow when I had it connected at first with the IC Chip upside down. Is it shot now? Any suggestions?

    • @jetson_
      @jetson_ 6 років тому

      I had the same issue but I think i found the problem. If you bypass the switch by touching the capacitor then what you need to do is connect speaker into row 22 and the negative in row 20. take a look at the button and see if yours matches. ignore the numbers just make sure you have the capacitor hitting the first prong on the button and the speaker on the other prong. It completes the circuit www.techwillsaveus.com/resources/diy-synth-kit/stutter-synth-manual/#/25

      It might be worth double checking the IC chip is the right way round. You can see how this should look here 👇make.techwillsaveus.com/synth-kit/manuals/stutter/#/5
      If that doesn't do the trick, please feel free to drop our customer care team a line along with a pic of your synth and they will be more than happy to help you out ⚡️ www.techwillsaveus.com/about-us/contact/
