Depends on the team. Since it was the packers and the play negatively affected them, it was offsides. Really any other team it wasn't.
Green Bay fan here, and yeah, that was just well-timed. Should not have been a flag.
Dude, im not a Greenbay fan, but they were totally offsides.
im a cowboys fan and we should have had a fumble in our game today but they called it "forward progress" which makes it unchallengable. im just wondering why does it have to be a refs call that can only be challenged when its a wrong call to begin with? why cant a coach challenge any play that looks like it wasnt called right in the first place? although i think it should still stay that only 2 plays can be challenged per half
@@xthaking Totally agree. I don’t know why the officials watching the game in the booth can’t call down and immediately reverse an obvious bad call. Seems like this would allow them to get the calls right and speed up the game. Win-win.

The hits on Bridgewater and Spencer this week...christ. Also a play where the Raven's guy runs into the endzone, Pat Surtain had the blockers hand in his facemask and nothing. Fucking bullshit. Rigged against Steeler's maybe? Lol

As a Packers fan, bad call. More and more I'm watching games where theres a game changing call. Flags should really be reviewable or challengeable, I get why the refs called it on the spot but it's still a mistake.
It’s so dumb. Everything should be challengeable period
I don’t necessarily think flags should be challengeable, unless it’s a flag or no flag on a play the resulted in a score.

"IMPOSSIBLE! 🧐 5 yard penalty."
Steelers scored right? Should it be a scoring review?
No
If no flag was thrown, yes they would review the score. They review scores to get it right but they can't review a bad call to overturn that. And it was a BAD CALL, no matter what 2% of the troll fans think. It was clearly not offsides. Such is life in the inconsistent NFL.
Even worse than the Khalil Mack roughing the passer call
Did he get one today? You see the Chase Young one?
Man, I was screaming at the TV on that one, it was a ticky-tack call. Mack's hand was just following through on the pass block.
Haden is always the scapegoat for questionable calls lol
That 10 points difference at the end summed up here within a horrible call
This needs to be reviewable... its such an easy call to fix with a simple look of a replay. Altering games because of terrible calls like this is getting old.
yea why tf would you use high end cameras with perfect quality, zoom, and slow-mo that cover each angle/inch of the field
Thats one of those play, where you really need a camera looking down the line of scrimmage to be sure one way or the other... but yeah from that pov, definitely not a penalty.
I don't know the specifics of the offsides rule, but if you slow it down to 0.25x, the Steelers clearly begin their movement before the ball is beginning to be snapped. I don't know if they cross the line before the snap occurs, or when the snap is considered to have been done. It would have to be down to when the defense is allowed to begin their movement and what offsides actually is when they are on the line.
Even if the call is right, given it's millisecond time frame it should be allowed... Refs are making millisecond calls, but miss some blatant ones and expect to be respected in both cases. And I'm a Packer's fan.
Immma Steelers fan that’s bs they weren’t offsides it was just perfect timing

@@ironparzival8989 Yes also right before he was starting to snap Joe Haden's left leg crossed because he wasn't in snapping motion its offsides
Refs need to be evaluated and held accountable. Any NFL game anymore has so many shady flags its running football. Last night's game clearly showed the refs were betting on the Pat's winning
Judging by the replay, it look like a judgment call
Offsides is not a judgement call. You're over the line when the ball is snapped or you're not. Soft.

Perfect timing bro
Refs are killing the game. They have been boning the Vikings for a couple weeks now too.
Chiseled Adonis must be devastated with this Genjutsu
Rodgers always gets bailed out
Another Packer fan here who agrees, it was a probably a bad call. Minute 1:42 shows #23 lined up what appears to be a little bit ahead of #39. So probably right on the line, and any movement would have appear to cross the line. Quickly starting and stopping to minute 1:43 it appears that the center starts by rocking the ball just a little bit, just as #23 starts to move. The center then appears to move the ball forward a tiny bit and then hike it back. I bet the line judge missed that initial rocking forward of the ball. Honestly, it was so close and happened so fast, that he would not have been able to be sure, so probably relied on past experience (thinking that has to be offsides right?). Really the TE (#85) was SLOW to react and missed both blocks. Also note that neither Steeler on either side of and closest to the ball moves right away. In fact, Steeler's #92, #96, and #97 don't even move until the ball is 1/2 way to the holder. So all that probably made it look like that #23 and #39 jumped early too. Bottom line for me, with the advantage of frame by frame it appears that #23 moved just as the center started moving the ball, and therefore, not offsides. BTW, I thought that Crosby's dramatic kick to win the game against SF the week before could have been blocked. Find a replay and notice that the defender on the outside (same spot as #23 on this one) actually gets his hands in front of the kicker as the ball is kicked, but just misses the ball.
In the words of the Chiseled Adonis: Good enough for a Steelers - GENJUTSUUU!!!!!
As a packers fan I’ll take it but the refs have been horrible literally every game the packers have played and it’s a league wide problem. From this whiff to the obvious tripping penalty not called by TJ Watt on Aaron Rodgers, to the hit on DaVante Adams last week and all the ticky tack pass interference calls against the 49ers and Green Bay it leaves me scratching my head. This is supposed to be the best of the best when it comes to football and week after week I feel like they got the refs out of a trash can behind 7/11 where they were all found them all huddling in the dumpster with a lighter and spoon being passed around. It’s not only pathetic but the NFL should be embarrassed and that’s the hell of it all,,, THEY DONT GIVE A SHIT THE REFS STINK!
as soon as the center moves the ball, your live
Play of inches indeed, that's a tough call for either side
Too damn close for me to call. I'd say perfect timing by the Steelers.
What was the other game this season where a player timed the snap perfectly but the refs called offsides?
It was a regular play not a field goal btw
Unreal. Precision timing gets you a flag.
Yet another game where special teams is truly special for the Steelers, they pulled this when they blew that game against the chargers 2 years ago only they did it 3 times
Perfect comparison, since they weren't offsides when when the Chargers failed the first time too, the two after in desperation should have never happened.
Calls this year have been worse than the replacement ref years
Some plays being "challengeable" and others aren't is the problem. The Refs are obviously not perfect and the NFL knows this, thus there being a challenge flag. I say let the coaches throw a challenge flag for whatever play they want, have it reviewed and let the outcome be decided by slow-motion, cameras looking from 35 different angles, mutual conversation amongst the refs, and a ref in the booth who has the time and intelligence to actually look at the rule as it written and decide the call. The number of challenges a game shouldn't change, just that you should be able to challenge whatever you want.
This play completely changed the momentum of the game and I, as a diehard Steelers fan is getting a bit tired of getting the crap end of the stick from these refs. #JessieJamesmadethecatch
Normal Green Bay biased officiating.
The NFL refused to show the side view down the line of scrimmage to avoid showing how NOT offside that was. If the center raises the ball forward for a long snap, then that's the snap.
Bruh why they jump so early...3 of them😭😂😂😂
They didn’t tho. At least not “so” early.
Imagine commenting that
Not offsides and a 10 point swing. This changed the whole game.
lambeau field special, as a lions fan I understand
Totally got screwed there. Timed the snap perfect and Minkah was already passed the 40 on the other side when they called it. Green Bay refs gave us sour cheese
It's the NFL. The winner is decided before the game starts.
It was to close to call either way so I’d say better to be no call, slowed it down to .25 speed and can’t tell
I’m speechless man.
i want to cry myself to sleep tonight
Another bad call in favor of the Packers. Definitely not the first time.
There is a WHAT back at the line of scrimmage?!
Interesting that they don't show the angle from the line of scrimmage. How is that angle not available? That's like the most common angle in the game, and I can't recall a time when the LOS wasn't able to be reviewed.
Of course we all know that's because it probably doesn't show them offsides, and the NFL won't/can't admit that they fucked up.
look at the final score and the game should of went to overtime 24-24
As a Packers fan, that was so bad. Why do the refs always suck at Packers games? Like we either get royally screwed or get all the calls to where the win doesn't even feel satisfying
Offsides

Pissed off
Steelers got fkd over on that. WE ALL SAW IT!!!!!
Totally do not understand how the heck the Steelers are penalized for jumping when the ball is moving and I do agree with Gene Steratore! Total BS call
People don’t understand AS SOON as the ball moves it’s free game watch it in .25 the center moves the ball UP so he can get the snap back as soon as that happens they can do whatever
The real issue here is not only was that *at the very worst* too close to call offsides, but also the flag came in extremely late, meaning the refs only decided to throw the flag after seeing the Steelers get a TD off it. Had it been recovered by the Packers or gotten the Steelers little to no yardage they probably wouldn't have called it.
really cool camera angle for the return touchdown
I agree that shouldn't have been offsides coming from a Packer fan the one rule in football don't move unless the ball moves
Is it even worth getting excited about big plays anymore?
My heart sank once I saw that?!
Another phantom call for the Packers.
They started before the snap but didn't cross from my view.
Haden moved when the ball moved
green bay always gets calls like this so many games decided by bad calls hard to watch
I still can't fucking believe this call. Even in the moment it doesn't look offsides.
It looked like he was lined up offsides - he is well forward of the ball, so when he flinched it was automatically offsides.
The only thing my family and I could think of was that maybe he lined up offsides? And maybe the flag was thrown before the snap. But it definitely doesn't look like an early jump
such a bummer when exciting perfectly executed, game changing (potentially) plays get a bs call like that.
Was a cool one to see happen, even rooting for GB.
There’s a reason they always show shitty camera angles on plays like this...the NFL doesn’t want you to see they fucked up.
