  • In the summer of 1967 Maths Lindgren (ex Radio Syd) visited the offshore stations Radio 355 and Radio London. Watch John Aston, Ed Stewart & Mike Lennox on the air.

    such a trip..... to all of you thanks for your kind words adn sharing your memories.... i never knew this side of my Father, he is a very quite and humble man (he would blush to be reading this) but it really makes me happy to see that he meant somthing to people that he never knew. let you all know i will carry on yours and his and let my kids know of this time. Memories, these kind at least are, the greatest thing in life...

    Good to see some footage of Canadian DJ Mike Lennox aboard Big L, together with Ed Stewart. Mike was a great broadcaster and nice guy.

    Hi Wolyak. The song is called "Sticks And Stones" and the band who sings it is called The Warm Sounds. Hope that helps you.

    BRILLIANT MEMORIES. BIG L WAS GREAT AND STILL IS: ALTHOUGH ITS LAND BASED. IF YOU HAVE AN ANDROID DEVICE GET THE APP:OFFSHORE RADIO OR OLDIES RADIO STATIONS. YOU WILL SEE WONDERFUL RADIO LONDON COMPLETE WITH JINGLES. ALSO ALL THE OTHER 60,s PIRATES CAROLINE ETC ARE THERE AS WELL. GO FOR IT

    Something bold and daring about this at the time. But what harm were they doing? Great venture hampered by stuck up radio 3 snobs who didn't want the BBC radio monopoly to be upset.
