- 2017... visiting 'The Last Broadcasting Radio Ship on Earth' was a weird experience. Mixed feelings and for us veterans some haunted memories of a different time, long gone... What is it about radio that guys are still doing this..? And WTF happened to Radio?

Brings back memories back to the seventies with veronica, nordsea, caroline and Mi Amigo, Atlantis and lots of other stations on ships broadcasting from sea recieving on my Koyo transistor radio under the pillow at night, thank you for the memory's and video..

I visited the station 3 times and was a great experience to be there.
There is a model of the Radio Caroline/Mi Amigo ship scale 1:100 at the radio museum in City Park in Launceston, Tasmania. The Museum is run by City Park Radio.
Every time I see a video like this I feel so sad that those lost times will never be back. God, I miss those days.

In 2021 Radio Caroline is waiting to resume broadcasting from the Ross Revenge. Broadcasting was moved to Manx Radio due to the Covid situation and hopefully Caroline will be broadcasting from the Ross Revenge around summertime. If this happen boat trips out to the ship will also resume on Saturdays and Sundays.

Ik zag hem vorig jaar liggen in Harlingen ( toevallig ) meteen wat serie foto's genomen ) ik ben OOK trots op deze schip...hopelijk blijft hij bestáán en een vaste ligplaats krijgt ( net als RADIO Veronica , die ligt bij de NDSM WERF in Amsterdam Noord..)
And Mi Amigo is sat at the bottom of the sea.
Leuk, ben ook op dit zendschip geweest. Leuke ervaring.

Well...the Veronica Ship.. Norderney is the only one that is still floating that actually was used as such...I don't recall any other actually from that time.. please excuse me if I am wrong.. , it lies in Amsterdam.. Mi Amigo sank, MEBO II was sold to Gadaffi and was used as target practice, King David Stranded between Noordwijk and Katwijk and was scrapped..there where more, but I do not recall where they went after being a broadcast ship...
Radio Caroline is still based on the Ross Revenge now in 2021.
@@colinmcnab6145 ... meant from TAHT time..Yes Ross Revenge is still floating, but wasn't in use as radioship in the sixties and seventies, it was purcgased after the MiAmigo sank.. that's why I didn't include it in my previous comment... And wheren't they allowed to broadcast from mainland??? I really thought to have read Caroline wasn't an off shore station.. Thanks alot :D

thank-you for the correction I live across the pond and have never been to the UK even though and I got mixed up and I have some very good friends their in the UK and I heard from Phil Meek during his presentation the sad news about Steve Scott my sympathies to Derek Taylor and the whole crew of Caroline he will be missed
It been a good day(14/08/2017) for pirate radio, Live on BBC 1 tv this morning, from LV18 in Harwich, where pirate BBC Essex is broadcasting(Also on the web), with DJ like Johnnie Walker, Roger ‘Twiggy’ Day, Tom Edwards and Norman St John, also joining pirate BBC Essex broadcast, later today, will be live from Ross Revenge(Caroline). BBC 1 tv also covered Ross revenge...
