It was impossible to not love Jimmy Durante. He was like the old uncle or grandfather you never had.
Watch the reception he received upon his appearance and departure on "What's My Line"?
thanks for this. Durante was one of a kind. oh, the memories this brought me, and a tear in the eye.
You are welcome, Rob!
This is so very delightful, talent, humor and love and friendship. Thank you so much.
You are very welcome!
I believe it was Sinatra who said that Durante was "a piece of chocolate". I can't add much to that, a perfect description.
Two great American performers.Charming, classy and talented.Thank you for posting this.❤
You are welcome! :)
Love Perry's voice.
@@CostAnder the closest who come to these two treats for their joy is McCartney and Ringo. Their joy is to entertainment and they live for it.
It's incredible how this little skit can transport a person back in time. Thank you for this.
You are welcome! ✨
Before autotune, people sang. They really sang.
Take my hat off to Jimmy - my surprising Friday treat - such a fine fine waker upper. Thanks for sending him my way, somebody who knows genius.
Mr. C and another all time favorite Jimmy Durante. Love them both.
The good old days. Made me laugh.

@@CostAnder thank you..
I really didn't want that to end!!
I was 10 years old in '64. Childhood Memories of a time when TV was truly entertaining. ☺️
Not only do they not make it like that any more but then do not even try because there is no more call for “class”. What a sad state of affairs
Jimmy was just a heart that filled yours Everytime!
What happened America.... What a wonderful time.
Love Jimmy Durante.. He reminds me of my little old Italian Grandpa 🥰🥰. Great memories.
Terrific clip.
Thank you!
They were adorable.
👍👍👍👍 I love it so great 👍👍👍👍
NOW 85 ONE MORE TREASURE FOR ME!!
Cost, take me back to the good times, the good old days
Doesn’t get any better 💜
When they start walking @7.53, were any other ancient Brits reminded of Flanagan and Allen (from the old Crazy Gang) singing their song ‘Strolling’?👵🏻
Being a nyc Italian boy my parents loved Jimmy and Perry
I tried 3 times and couldn't get the punch line for the joke. He put the lead slug in and what came out?
GUM came out
Only Kidding....The MANAGER came out
@@JohnnySalMusic1 He mumbled something after "gum".
Bit of a skip on the audio.
He stopped himself cis he realized whatever the punchline it was probably to risque for TV.
OMG, They were the Greatest!! Thanks.
You're welcome!
Love this . Wish we had entertainment like again.
God rest both of them !!!
How very cool! Music of my parents and memories made.

Perry Como could use a personality transplant.
His personality was so lacking that he was on television on a consistent basis for almost 30 years and in the top 10 of prime time television shows for many of those years. Add to that the number of awards during his television tenure. Between 1945-55 he sold more records than any other singer. All that and he was lacking in personality?
Without a "personality" he reached people from every corner of the world. 😏😏
folks this is that butter zone between when stars were drunks to when stars became drug addicts. i have no meaning assigned to this observation other than to observe their behavior knowing these guys were drunk and 5 years after this the pop icons were high. one is not better than the other again no judgement or connotation, but i find it interesting to view this cultural gap pre and post civil rights movement and pre and post cultural movement thru the lens of what they were on recreationaly and how and why the divisiveness between generations became so great so fast when in reality they were not much different psychologically
Take a break!
What on earth are you talking about?!
