Those tiered planter boxes really gave the front of the house a beautiful shape and those planter shingles are way cool! I have never seen those before! LOVE These projects!
Started watching this as an Ad and for the first time I didn't wait to skip it, I had to watch the entire episode . Love this kind of stuff as I grew up watching "This old house." I am now a subcriber. Great job!
Hey Monica!! I am getting crazy with your great work!! I am in love with your ideas and make over to each an every element in home. Thanks for sharing such wonderful videos and showing how you bring smile on every one's faces.
I'm loving the weekender. Can't get enough! Everybody I've shared with is loving the weekender too! I'm also learning about some products Lowes carries that I can use for some of my home and craft projects. I can't say enough good things about Lowes for creating the weekender. But we all know the real deal is Monica, she pulls it all together. She fun and fresh, bubbly and bright, helpful to the watcher but not pushy. Monica's the girl next door, the best friend you've always wanted and oh sooo talented. I'm enjoying the weekender as much if not more then some of the shows on HGTV. I really like that it's different parts of the home and different parts of the country. Thanks Lowes, you've got a HIT on your hands and you've created a New Brand... "MONICA".💜
Having lived briefly in New Orleans (and not the French Quarter, which is about all anyone ever shows or talks about), I would highly suggest she bring those chairs in or put them in the back. I'm surprised they were even still there for the reveal, lol.
Oh Gosh!!!! Every video is an inspiration. Hoping to do something with my flowers like this next summer. Tones of trips to Lowes!!! Where can I send my submissions for next episodes plsssssss!!!!!
Great job! I'm loving this series, though I would've moved the mailbox away from the storm drain. Hate for the mailman to drop something down there by accident.
I don't know what part of Vegas Tiffany is from but I am also from Vegas and a bright white house is really rare here. The houses here are every shade of dirt and terra cotta you can imagine.
Maybe put that in the video like an additional tip before someone tries this diy and ends up with water damage...? Did you put a barrier against the fence with the concrete block planter from another episode as well? In the diy on the lowe's website that step is not even on there. :/
We agree! Here they are, if you decide to go with them: bit.ly/2mwHTRA Thanks for watching and congratulations on your new home! Let us know if there's any other projects you'd like some help with. We've got a few (hundred) videos we could recommend :)
Lowe's Home Improvement I was just trying to find them! thank you! oh I have been watching quite a few videos already and I'm so ready to get into our home and get cracking!
I love this style but a few things jumped out to me. Not in appearance wise but craftmanship. I'm no professional by any means, but at 7:20 on the right side of the door frame a lot of bleeding on the door color to the wall... also the mail box with those wood boards into the ground... they don't look to be treated or anything - maybe some rot issues in the short term? Also, those flower beds... really? Again just pine studs? No ground contact or even pressure treated wood? That thing will rot in no time, even with the paint. A double insurance would be using the PT wood... that would last a lifetime almost! With this said, those planters are awesome! I am incorporating it them in my yard for sure!
Hi, Deonna. Monica worked with the local Lowe's to choose plants that had the desert look Tiffany wanted but that would survive in New Orleans climate. The Lowe's garden center in your neighborhood will have plants specifically chosen to thrive in your climate. Thanks for watching!
What the heck, Lowe's?? Untreated wood in contact with the ground is an open invitation to termites. That lining "barrier" is a weed blocker, not a moisture barrier! Water will seep through directly into the front wall of the house. Mold, rot, termites - this is a recipe for a slow-motion demolition! Btw, it looks beautiful. Now go back, apologize, and do it over the right way before the front of her house collapses. Rebuild the planters out of treated wood, with a back on them, and set them a couple inches away from the front wall of the house for air flow. I'm serious.
These are some great ideas! Im in Florida, and my home is in need of some serious curb appeal. Do you have the designs and parts list for those planters by chance?
Aaron Greenfield we don't have the details on this planter but here's a collection of creative planters, window boxes and containers: low.es/2nhGylA. Thanks for watching.
Karen- these plans were chosen for NOLA climates, but could work in Philly during the summer, but I'd use them in pots instead so you can bring them in during the cold months :)
I've been really enjoying this channel but I wish you'd use more color when you paint! You guys always amp everybody up for the Big Paint Color Reveal and then it's WHITE almost every single time.
As the camera panned to show the "shotgun houses", I shuddered...having lived a year in New Orleans (two years after Katrina), you don't know pain until you've lived in one as an introverted teen with all of your family having to walk through your bedroom to get to anywhere else in the house. There was the front door, the back door, and the bathroom door...those were the only doors in the house (and the bathroom was missing a doorknob so I had to shove a rag into the door). This setup is epecially uncomfortable when there are adults who "sleep" together...so there's no other doors to block that out. The style of house works for couples or a couple with very young children only, before they're old enough to care about wanting a private space of their own. Otherwise, it is a terrible house design. I know people dog on things like skyscrapers that block the skyline, but I would rather we build upwards to help house more people in regular apartments, than build things like shotgun houses that are crammed together like sausages.
A roller? Not a sprayer? What about painting the sides and back? It must be painted to be cohesive. And no paint prep for the house. Wasn't washed or primed.
I was thinking I'd be falling out in that chair...one inch to the right and boom, down goes my drink and myself. Also...the neighborhood saw me! I agree it's a little interesting but I think it's more for looks and mayne a morning coffee chill spot, warm climate type of thing. She could bolt those chairs to the pavers and she could also just weed whip the center and mow around it. It makes it look cute tho I think
It all looked great until the flamingoes. Made it look tacky. I’d be worried someone would steal those chairs. But England, UK has good areas and bad. Our isn’t too bad. Still wouldn’t trust putting chairs that are light and can be picked up. The teenagers that mess around would rob them just to bug people.
i don't like how it came out...i really hated the painted concrete pave way...everything look so cheaply done. It didn't give me the look of WOW as other episodes..looks terrible..i was thinking some stone walkway and garden lights and flowers or shrubs along the pathway,.....it definitely doesn't look like a designer's work. I can even pull out a bunch of magazines to copy some of those garden design that wolud look way better than this...I'm so disappointed with this episode....
Those tiered planter boxes really gave the front of the house a beautiful shape and those planter shingles are way cool! I have never seen those before! LOVE These projects!
Hey brittany, I love this channel too! :-)
You are very creative person
Started watching this as an Ad and for the first time I didn't wait to skip it, I had to watch the entire episode . Love this kind of stuff as I grew up watching "This old house." I am now a subcriber. Great job!
The more I watch ur channel..the more I'm addicted to it. Love it so much
God bless you
Im so addicted to this little series. Gives me so many DIY ideas!
Love the planter boxes. I am so addicted to this show!!
Love the planter box with the house numbers on it.
Random Jasmine biggheads
g
They should've used vinyl instead. Probably more expensive but I'm sure the homeowner wouldn't mind paying the difference.
The planters are killer! I'm so jealous! Congrats.
Fran Gish here's a collection of some of our favorite projects to give your plants a stylish home: low.es/2nhGylA. Thanks for watching.
Hey Monica!! I am getting crazy with your great work!! I am in love with your ideas and make over to each an every element in home. Thanks for sharing such wonderful videos and showing how you bring smile on every one's faces.
Love the matching planter boxes and mail box!
I'm loving the weekender. Can't get enough! Everybody I've shared with is loving the weekender too! It looks stunning Monica. The Planters looks beautiful with that white rocks 🌱🍀🍁🌼
Is she going to keep those chairs outside? I feel like someone would try to steal them since they're so cute.
I agree people would steal all that stuff. I would put in in the back yard
That's exactly what I was thinking
Where I come from we leave our keys in the door. I guess it just depends where she's from. 😂
My thoughts exactly.
Having lived briefly in New Orleans (and not the French Quarter, which is about all anyone ever shows or talks about), I would highly suggest she bring those chairs in or put them in the back. I'm surprised they were even still there for the reveal, lol.
I am new to her channel but am already hooked, I admire the practicality and functionality of her ideas...
I love this makeover; this has to be the coolest house on the block!
Her voice is amazing
Oh Gosh!!!! Every video is an inspiration. Hoping to do something with my flowers like this next summer. Tones of trips to Lowes!!! Where can I send my submissions for next episodes plsssssss!!!!!
I don't think those succulents will survive in New Orlean's weather...way too wet in general and cold over the winter
the flamingoes are a bit overkill for me hahaha but the color coordination with the plants matching the door is gorgeous!
I’ve learned so much here in the weeknender! I’m so happy i found this in youtube! 😍 Your filipino fan is here! ☺️
The wood will rot in no time.
love the weekender !!!
I need to meet her! I'm from Las Vegas as well and moved here a while agooooo. I so miss home and this brought me back!!
The planner boxes are awesome
I love the Weekender videos. So creative!!
Great job! I'm loving this series, though I would've moved the mailbox away from the storm drain. Hate for the mailman to drop something down there by accident.
Love this! I didn't skip the commercial!!!!
Omg I love that outside of the house beautiful 🌵☀️☀️
Wow, I love every project! Nicely done ✅.
I don't know what part of Vegas Tiffany is from but I am also from Vegas and a bright white house is really rare here. The houses here are every shade of dirt and terra cotta you can imagine.
Those planter shutters 😍
So cool project!!! :) I love it! ❤️👏
Love the plant beds but soil directly against the wall?
Hey Marion- we put up a barrier between the house, so that there wouldn't be any issues! :)
What about the wood of the plant boxes directly on the soil? Is there a chance that wood would rot?
Maybe put that in the video like an additional tip before someone tries this diy and ends up with water damage...? Did you put a barrier against the fence with the concrete block planter from another episode as well? In the diy on the lowe's website that step is not even on there. :/
Definitely using these ideas
Stunning transformation.
those planter shutters are genius! just bought our first home and we've been looking for cool shutters. those may be the ticket!
This looks so awsome
I loved everything except the mailbox it just wasn't my style. But the planters looked great!
This is my favourite colour scheme!
I wish they painted the window trims black or something to match. It looks very plain without trim or soffit colors.
I love las Vegas too. I miss living there too!
I love this style but a few things jumped out to me. Not in appearance wise but craftmanship. I thought she said she used a barrier?
As for the door, I'm POSITIVE she went back with the white and touched everything up lol
But build the planters with wood treatment, please. ;)
where do I find planter shutters?! I love that idea!
Here they are! bit.ly/2mwHTRA
Lowe's Home Improvement this link doesn’t take u to the planter shutters!!! Please share the link where to find them
@@roxaneabigail488 Try searching "Hex Plastic Vertical Garden"
I love the plant beds and the number box is so cute. Are any of the plants zone 7 friendly?
Hi, Deonna. Monica worked with the local Lowe's to choose plants that had the desert look Tiffany wanted but that would survive in New Orleans climate. The Lowe's garden center in your neighborhood will have plants specifically chosen to thrive in your climate. Thanks for watching!
please come to Austin Texas. Who do I email?

I was thinking the same thing about the untreated wood. That's 101 basic.
I was thinking the same thing too! And the mailbox system might last two years the wsy they buried that wood in the ground. Disappointed!
I hope the wood for the mailbox is vinyl.
This is sooooooo nice!
This so beautiful love it ♥️
Thank you so much!
Liking it….love it!!
I'm also from Vegas so I know some things your talking about like how much rocks appear in Vegas :3
Great series. Wondering what type of treated wood was used for the mailbox. Anyone know?
this is amazing
Good Jobs, Good Ideas
hello curb appeaal! such a smart show!
why not paint everything first..
2 day thing for the camera. Everyone else will paint, dry, plant, water . . .
✨Gorgeous
Looks cute!
I don't like The Weekender I LOVE it!!!😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘
No sanding before painting the front door? Wonder how long the paint will last...
A liquid deglosser will do the trick...for the sake of time limitations, they don't/can't show everything in these videos.
Does it cost any money for these home renovations? Because I totally need this done, but I have a very serious spending budget.
That turned out so cute! I've never seen shutters like that. Are they from Lowe's?
Glad you liked them! They're actually from ATG, our home furnishings sister site. Here they are: bit.ly/2mwHTRA
+Lowe's Home Improvement Thanks!
I'm concerned about the earth next to the stucco home. Probably not a great idea.
Hermoso, todo todo hermoso
love love love
Aye Vegas gang
nice video
Monica, do you think these plants will survive Philly's heat during the summer? Thinking of planting those on my front door planter
Karen- these plans were chosen for NOLA climates, but could work in Philly during the summer, but I'd use them in pots instead so you can bring them in during the cold months :)
They are desert plants. The bigger question is them surviving Philly's winters.
Looking for the how to for the mailbox
I’m from England, UK and we pronounce it “New Or-Lee-an’s” lol.
4:39 thought she swore
Those plants look great, but wouldn't they be really expensive?
I was hoping to see a living room improvement. X
LOL i tried wiping my screen cuz i thought the line on the C was a speck of dust
I like the planters but think that they are going to cause damp inside the house.
You spend a lot of time in New Orleans
I've been really enjoying this channel but I wish you'd use more color when you paint! You guys always amp everybody up for the Big Paint Color Reveal and then it's WHITE almost every single time.
Nawlins
How to get termites 101 -- it looks really nice, but there were some key mistakes in the build!
As the camera panned to show the "shotgun houses", I shuddered...having lived a year in New Orleans (two years after Katrina), you don't know pain until you've lived in one as an introverted teen with all of your family having to walk through your bedroom to get to anywhere else in the house. Where can we buy the shutters?
Hi, Amber. The shutters are actually vertical planters, you can take a look at them here: bit.ly/2ossffG.
Thanks so much! I went to Lowes.com and couldn't find them. Great idea!!!
I would LOVE if you came and helped me with the curb appeal of my house in Puerto Rico... but we don't have Lowes :(
I usually like all of Monica's renovations but completely dislike this one. The house looked way better in the "before" picture.
A roller? Not a sprayer? What about painting the sides and back? It must be painted to be cohesive. And no paint prep for the house. Wasn't washed or primed.
Some of this us ghetto
The pavers? Mowing nightmare
Fall outta your chair also
I was thinking I'd be falling out in that chair...one inch to the right and boom, down goes my drink and myself. Also...the neighborhood saw me! Black trim around the windows and the fence on the right side of the house...
Super..`
wowwww

❤❤❤
I would have stained the door a darker colour or painted it darker didn't like the pink
12:06 lmaao
Nooooo!
Form over function.
The mailbox thing was dumb
The only thing I didn't like was the white house. It just didn't match the city. It would have looked nice in another city.
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 👍🏻👍🏻💖💖💖💖💖
Ew, why would anyone want cacti, wax plants, and gravel? Move back to Las Vegas!
i don't like how it came out...i really hated the painted concrete pave way...everything look so cheaply done. i do not think this is good
