Dr Zeus song is just a spin on 'Rock Me Amadeus' by Falco which is also a great song fyi however, I agree Planet of the Apes The Musical would have made a cracking show.
Glad there are other people who have been lowkey loving the planet of the apes musical as much as me, I used to wish it was real so badly because I really wanted to watch it lol
One of the best musical moments in film history is in the Vanilla Ice vehicle Cool As Ice. It is in a scene where he goes to a local club and this band is playing this amazing post-punk rendition of the Sly and the Family Stone's song "Thank You (Falettinme Be Mice Elf Agin)" -- already an awesome song, but made more awesome, by a fake band, channeling all the raw performance energy of early Nick Cave. I was awestruck. Of course in the story they supposedly suck, while Vanilla Ice shows up and rules the mic, but really the fake band's amazing performance only serves to highlight Ice's mediocrity. It's a crime it didn't wind up immortalized on a soundtrack.
I loved that episode back then, still do, but I feel the Die Hard/Working Girls Musical from Bob's Burgers is still a better "out of nowhere musical adaptation of movies" tho it was obviously inspired directly by this Simpson's episode
_Elephant!_ an RSC musical based on the elephant man, is for my money the best musical for a movie: _The Tall Guy,_ with Jeff Goldblum, Emma Thompson, and Rowan Atkinson as himself as a completely unfunny schmuck. It manages to skewer every West End musical since the year dot. Every number is exqisitely produced and accurately depicted, but like They Might Be Giants' _Fingertips_ only lasts long enough to get the point across.

This is a parody of Falco's Amadeus from the 1980's.
Like everything Spinal Tap ever did?
nice vid,
you do this is a cover of falco's rock me amadeus right? The others are covers too just don't remember what they are off the top of my head.

Minor correction, the actor in Planet of the Apes is called Charlton Heston, not Charles
The Flame Still Burns by Strange Fruit in Still Crazy
I'm pretty sure that was just the theme from cloud atlas not the cloud atlas song itself.
Just found your channel! Class content, love the video!
Thanks so much, greatly appreciated
