FIXING ANOTHER DSM | 2GB CAS - 2GB CAMS - TIMING BELT INSTALL

- What's up guys? In this video I'm going to be working on another DSM. This time, it will be on a local DSMers 98 Eclipse GSX. This car came to me with a swapped 95-96 4g63 motor and the cam angle sensor was still the original. Owner complained of sudden misses and CEL pointing out to a bad CAS. I swapped out the CAS to the proper year (97-99) and also swapped out the camshafts as well....being that the 95-96 intake camshaft is not threaded. I also installed a new timing while I was in there. Another thing that was fixed (but not filmed) was sometimes the owner could not get the car to go in any gear, especially after a fully warmed up engine.... the cause of that was the clutch adjustment was way off, almost to the point of the fingers on the pressure plate being opened up without the clutch pedal being pressed in.

We ended up tossing the 95-96 CAS in the trash because sometimes the car will shut down unexpectedly and he was experiencing a CEL from it. You can easily find a replacement on ebay, Amazon or rockauto by looking up part number MD300102. Good luck! 👍

Did you need to swap in the 2gb exhaust cam also? Or could you just swap the intake cam?
