I like Sikkema’s demeanor and thinking, but just to show how impossible this job is here is who he’s selected for G-men last two drafts (he didn’t do terribly and perhaps we should have grabbed who he suggested:)) 1st round only: 2022 - #5 - Charles cross (we took Kayvon) 2022 - #7 - Derick stingly jr (we took Neal) and 2023 #25 - John Michael Schmidt (we took Banks) *now keep in mind Sekkema had Banks going at #24 where we actually did select by trading up. Nice job by him there. Plus we did get John Michael but obviously round 2. Thought this might interest the fan base . These drafts are so tough but fun to mock. This guy did ok

I feel if the QB isn't there at 6, they've got to try hard to trade back and pick up draft capital to be able to maneuver to go after Penix. They have to come away with a top QB. Unless Schoen and Daboll are getting 20 year extensions, they have to have their QB this year. You can't reset and start the rebuild next year, but if they win 7 or 8 games they won't be in position to get one next year, so start the rebuild in 26? What's the plan?
Let's say the Giants can't get a deal done to move up. Is there a huge gap between Nabers, Odunze, Mitchell, and Thomas Jr. that would make a major difference in the Giants offense, with Daniel Jones at QB....because if not, trade back has more value than a slight difference. Is Malik Nabers worth more than a trading down, especially if you could still pick a top five WR, like Brian Thomas Jr.
100% not Nabers who is a slot maybe an outside receiver and while a star looks like every one of the 1000 slots they have. Also makes more sense to take a Tackle
I agree that the O-Line has been deficient, but we've exhausted a lot of draft capital and FA signings on O-Line. At some point, the coaches need to step up and prove their mettle and I think we've reached that point, at least for now.
