This was very helpful. I’m in my last year of an organizational leadership doctoral program and as a professional who leads a team this is the first time I’ve sat and crafted my leadership philosophy. Great video
Extremely helpful as a new leader that stepped into the role during pandemic/uncertain times, thank you so much for sharing this. I especially appreciated the links to leadership theories and the structure to create the statements. Have been sharing with others!!
Excellent presentation and content. Really simple, and I think really effective. I've been in leadership roles for many years, and heard a lot of "BS" over time, but I find Alex's approach, style and delivery very effective and therefore easy to pass on to co-workers and followers. Thankyou Alex. Excellent. 😀
Philosophical problems] are, of course, not empirical problems; but they are solved through an insight into the workings of our language, and that in such a way that these workings are recognized - despite an urge to misunderstand them. The problems are solved, not through the contribution of new knowledge, rather through the arrangement of things long familiar. Philosophy is a struggle against the bewitchment (Verhexung) of our understanding by the resources of our language. [Ludwig Wittgenstein, "Philosophical Investigations," 1953]
your citation "philosophy is a struggle of our understanding by the resources of our language" is perfect because typical for the academic nature of this sort of thinking. its triviality, hollowness, aloofness and one-dimensionality. thank you.
I stumbled upon your videos today and I'm wondering if you have any advice for parents communicating with their children. I really like the idea of respectful communication between parent and child but sometimes in the moment it can be hard to relay that if you're frustrated or busy or stressed. Do you have any general videos on how to communicate respectfully in the moment during a stressful situation if not for parent and child communication?
I don't focus on parent-child or family communication. It's a critical area, for sure. But, this channel is about developing professional communication and leadership skills. So, most of what I do focuses on the workplace in one way or another.
Thanks, Brenden. And a huge congratulations for passing 10k subscribers. That's a big milestone. Way to go! I hope anybody reading this checks out your channel.
When are you gonna react to Jocko Willink? I think he Mastered being a Leader, but maybe you have a different input that would be helpful or a different healthy look.
In a desert of madness, this content is an oasis. TY so much for all you do!
Best compliment I've heard all day. Thanks, Dwayne. I appreciate it.

Life is suffering - smiling and thinking about JBP, obviously :)
I hadn't thought about him when I said that but he does talk about suffering, that's true.

I want people around me to characterize my leadership in 3 words:-
1. Open minded
2. Democratic
3. Lead with examples
