The safety of SawStop is beyond question. But, head-to-head, on everything else, how does SawStop compare with other top end saws on the market? Are these aired live on UA-cam so we can send in questions live? If so, how about a mailing list that will give us 1/2 to 1 hour notice of the start of a demonstration?
Hey John, it stacks up pretty well. If you set aside the safety feature and just look at the saw itself, it is "overbuilt" (in order to accommodate the force needed for the safety system). The arbor is huge and the bearings are 50% larger than other saws (ICS version SawStop). I have the ICS version and it weighs around 700 lbs.
Hello John, this is Joel who runs the UA-cam channel. I bought a Sawstop personally because without the technology that prevents flesh cuts it’s till one of the best saws on the market hands down. As for the demos, we film the demos live on Facebook every Saturday at 1PM PST. Unless we state no demo this Saturday, we’re pretty constant. There you can ask live questions. Once filmed, I edit and upload to our UA-cam channel for all to see.
