Sam Pauly is so freaking talented. I feel her discomfort, the flinches, the staring at the floor, the shaky voice. I've never even been in a situation where I've felt sexually violated, and yet, because of what my friends and family have gone through, I understand how scary it is to even be alone with men. How uncomfortable I feel around Male teachers that have been nothing but kind to me. To be uneasy around uncles and friends dads. Her acting is impeccable and the modern portrayal of things that probably weren't even frowned upon in that time and even in some places now, is just beautifully awful.
I lover her performance because it's so relatable (having been stuck in situations of abuse though not as bad as K Howard's real situations) and she's the only Howard actress I've ever felt connected to because of her realism to the subject
Some of my most chills moments - tomorrow there’ll be more of us - Hamilton - climax of what it means to be a friend - 13 - in a crowd of thousands climax - Anastasia - good for you, when everyone’s overlapping and everything - dear Evan hansen - “did you fall? Or did you let go?” - dear Evan Hansen - i dont need your love - six the musical - last day of summer - lighting thief There are tons more... but here’s some :)
@@christopherbaker4420 the song describes katherine howard's life full of repeated child sexual abuse, that was cut short when henry viii married her at 17, convicted her of adultery, and had her beheaded at 19. sam's version is unique in that she gets very emotional while singing and finishes the song sobbing, while the other versions are a lot... cleaner? she really plays up the fact that katherine howard was incredibly young when she died. there was a version floating around here where the audience was too stunned to applaud when she was done, and you could hear the uncomfortable silence in the theatre.

I love the energy Aimie brings to Katherine Howard, like she plays her very likeable and young and vivacious, but Sam Pauly's version leans so much into the trauma that K Howard went through without overwhelming you and it honestly gives me chills.
I thought these were going to be theater moments that went WRONG. I watched 3 of them and was like "Where the hell is the moment that went wrong??? Why aren't I seeing or hearing any mess ups???" lololol

@@terra_the_nightingale135 Actually yes!!! That is Liz Gillies that played Jade on Victorious!!! She was the original Lucy. Also, Ariana Grande was in the OG cast of 13 too!! She played Charlotte.
I always forget how awful Bare: The Musical is. I am thankful I usually just forget it exists The original is so incredibly good and so well written. The musical version was absolutely terrible.
ugh so glad to see some come from away representation. saw it on broadway back in march 2019 and it was incredible. you bet your ass i bought a signed playbill lmao
Finally some appreciation for my girl Martha Dunnstock

omg luke’s part in last day of summer makes me want to cry🥺
The entirety of “you gotta die some time” from falsettos
Verionica’s suicide makes my stomach sink.
last day of summer OMG YES
the lightning thief is too underrated
Last day of summer had me crying
The fact that dana is in her thirties and is playing a little kid THAT well convinces me I’ll never be an actress
You're fucking KIDDING me. I thought she was Presley Ryan's age.

@@theoriginalshreddies201 since they didn't have posters, I have a deluxe playbill signed by the entire cast.

me seeing bare the musical while being a bare: a pop opera stan: well yes but technically no
update: thank you for including the pop opera version
Haha I’m also definitely a pop opera stan but they both have their moments
Why bare the musical sounds like Mean Girls on Broadway 😭. They murdered the solemn edgy Bare 😭😭
Ommmmg
All You Wanna Do always makes me cry. It's such a sad story! K. Howard never deserved any pf it.
K. Howard protection squad where you at?
Too late..
im so happy that the bonnie and clyde fandom isn't dead its legit my favourite thing
Renée rapps voice is so powerful

It Can't Be True walked so The Smartphone Hour could run
Smartphone Hour is one of the absolute worst thing I've ever heard in musical theater
elphbwckd How does it feel to be so incredibly wrong?
Fun fact, “Smartphone Hour” is based off/named from “Telephone Hour” In Bye Bye Birdie
elphbwckd Smartphone Hour isnt even the worst song in Be More Chill, what are you on about

The theatre moment that gives me the most chills is either the santa fe climax in newsies or letter from the refuge also from newsies

i. 100% agree with you. i am a pop opera elitist.
There is such a clear difference in quality between the original and the musical
where could I find the original?
Ugh yes ending the vid with that Santa Fe note 👌🏼

HOW DID I NOT KNOW TAYLOR TRENSCH WAS IN BARE????
