One, if not the, the best and most thorough (without being boring) pre-purchase review videos I've ever watched. Well done! I'm considering buying an RS7 or an E63 wagon in the next year or so and this video informed me of a few small (differences in the C7 and C7.5 models) and big items (no cooled seats with the sport seats... this seems ass backwards to me and is disappointing) that I was unaware of. Thanks!
As a follow-up, I did end up purchasing a one owner, 2014 RS7 with only 16K miles and in one of the best colors I've ever seen on this car, Emerald Green! I've had it about 8 months now, put 17K miles on it and have thoroughly enjoyed it. It truly is a do it all daily driver. I became even more impressed after the addition of an APR tune... such a civil car with the ability to be an absolute performance monster as well. 👍🏼
Good video Eddie, keep it going. Only missed a couple of things; getting a car with sports exhaust is a given. Sports exhaust has black oval tips, standard has silver. The compression ratio was changed on the 7.5 to give better emissions so in countries that have road fund licencing or some sort of tax on emissions, the 7.5 costs less. Here in the UK and C7 is £565 a year whereas C7.5 is £330. Not much in the ownership grand scheme of things but 3 tanks of fuel I'd rather have! If you can find a car with ceramic brakes, BUY IT! They need replacing every 200k miles, not ever 20k miles like steels. There will be a premium for a car with ceramics but not as much as you'd pay for a new set of steel brakes! As for the S7 vs RS7, stronic is better but the interior extra tech, power and handling of the RS are so much better. If you tune your S7/6 you'll need stage 3 to match a stage 1 RS7.
Got the same colour on a 7.5 but non performance model, got lucky and it came very well specced, factory akra exhaust, carbon package inside and out, b & o, comfort pack, everything except pretty much the dynamic pack, amazing car, hopefully change the rims soon but other than that plenty if power really, although starting to get used to it 😅
Watching Eddie’s videos you get a clear sense of how much he genuinely cares about the content and topics he’s talking about. Very useful information, especially when compared to other UA-camrs “what you need to know before....” Almost everyone else seems to be just blathering on about basic and general information that you could find by looking at a spec sheet. The way you broke down the competition and options is awesome! Would have LOVED to see this exact video, just about the S4 instead because that’s more in my current price range lol. I’m going through the same process with options and competition to used S4’s. Keep up the great work man!
Thank you so much for the kind words! Your support means a lot. I can absolutely try and make something similar for the B8 S4 since I spent quite a bit of time with mine. I can just film it at home and overlay some of my old clips from past videos!
EddieX Thanks for the reply! That would be amazing, if you can do that I’d be the first one to watch haha. I value your input on the car over pretty much anyone else’s. I’m looking forward to the video!!!
I had a '16 RS7 for about two years. It was the 13th Audi Quattro I've owned over the years. I was amazed at how quickly it went through brake rotors - and how much it cost to replace them! Granted I do a lot of mountain driving, but the Panameras I owned before it (4S, GTS sedans) and afterwards (Turbo, Turbo S Sport Turismos) never needed a rotor. With the RS7 I needed front rotors at about 15K miles. Ouch! The car was fun to drive, although when push came to shove (see what I did there?) it understeered noticeably, even with the sport suspension. That was the biggest single difference from the Panameras - they all were more neutral handling.
Great video , honestly one of the best UA-camrs. Mondi and you are my favorite. You are always non-bias and have the best reviews hands down then anyone else. Good luck with your move to Chicago ,hope all works out well.
Dude Nice video!! But here in Sweden it’s more what insurance you are going to get because you will be keeping the car for about a week haha. A buddy of mine bought one and parked it outside his apartment 8h later and it was stolen.. he hade it for about 10h before having to call the insurance up....
Thanks for the video, very informative, I have the 2014 RS7, I already had to replace the oil separator but I love this car, I will actually keep it and keep modifying it to make it even better, I think it’s worth the sacrifice
I bought my 2016 S7 in Daytona Grey from Audi Atlanta in 2020. It was CPO with only 17K miles with extensive Audi Care. I bought 2 additional services which took it to last year before I had to pay for an oil change. Another dude had backed out and I even got a bit of a discount because the dealership was panicking a bit due to COVID just starting to hit and they had NO idea if the dealerships would even be able to stay open.
Also worth mentioning the engine mounts will have to be replaced around 50k-60k miles. Not a cheap job but common for the 4.0 tt. I bought a C7.5 S7 and threw RS7 turbos in it + DPs & tune to give it around 700 HP and in the end I should've just bought an RS7. The DCT is faster than the Z8 but the clutch is not built for that power. You can upgrade the clutches for $3k + labor but at that point, just buy an RS7.
To touch on reliability, I'm driving a 2016 Audi A6 Prestige 3.0t with the APR tune. I have 85K miles on it and the only reliability issues I've had was replacing the water pump and timing belt at 75K miles. So I'd consider these vehicles decently reliable as compared to MB or BMW. What y'all think?
matt jo that’s a fact, I owned 2 bmws and 2 Audi’s and both of my Audi’s never gave me a problem but a couple flat tires cause of 20inch rims . But the Audi’s are really reliable and strong since I drive hard
Great video Eddie! You mention your preference for the air suspension. I am looking at purchasing the performance version which only comes with the steel springs. Is the ride significantly stiffer when comparing comfort to comfort in both versions?
So I bought a used Redeye for a pretty decent price compared to what they are now thanks to this chip shortage. Back then I wanted a retro looking, warrantied fast car. I’m starting to realize I spend more time 0-100 than I do 100+. I daily on drag radials but I want something that can get off the line quick first of all. Seconds I’m not sure if I’m maturing as a 36 year old dad but I feel like an awd missile with 4 doors just seems cool and refined. I just hate the idea of going from a 19’ to a 16’ especially with all these issues you mentioned. I would prob have to do some kind of extended warranty just to ease my mind.
Looking at buying one following a deployment next year. Hoping prices will continue dropping at a decent rate. Just don't know what year to go for yet.
The C7.5, “performance” trim makes 605HP instead of initial 560’that first gen RS7 had. And it’s not just the tune, but the turbos are slightly bigger and cooling system is bit more productive. You get +45HP stock, but also you get way more reliability and potential with the “performance” trim. So if the budget allows, there’s no choice at all. “Performance” trim beats the regular RS7. P.S. the engine build code should be CWUC. Not CWUB or CWUA
lol, "don't get the comfort seats in this, this is a sports car, maybe in the s8 the comfort seats make sense because they look like a sofa", 2 minutes later "get the air suspension because this is a big luxury sedan and not a sports car" 😄. In all seriousness though, I ended up with the rs7 with dynamic package, from a c63s, the rs7 in dynamic mode is softer than the c63s yet handles perfectly, and I kid you not, the rs7 in comfort mode with drc suspension is smoother than my wife's gl550 which has air suspension. Go figure! The change in suspension on this car is one I have never seen before, it is simply day and night when switching modes. When riding in comfort I feel very uncomfortable taking quick turns at even relatively high speed, this changes entirely when in dynamic mode for the suspension, that thing can handle!
Do you think it is a good time to buy a 2017 rs7 performance with 80K and 2000 miles? Due to the new generation of the rs7. I just worried it will lost its value very soon
Sounds like a good deal, assuming accident-free. I just picked up a 2017 performance, 12k miles for $83k, but it had pretty much every option available. While I know that it probably makes more sense financially to wait until the new ones come out, I simply didn’t want to. I’ll enjoy this for a few years, then maybe trade it up for a 2021 model. Find a car you love, and pull the trigger (assuming it doesn’t break the bank)!
I’ve been trying to decide between the 2019 Panamera GTS, and RS7 lol which one now, would you say? I still love the CLS as well and with BMW, I love the X6M, help me please!
Just coming across this video I’m thinking of buying a 2017 performance prestige model With 51k coincidence has the full circle steering wheel as well cuz of heating package Your video was extremely informative and great quality 🙏🏾💪🏾💯

4 years ago I was, before I went with the i8. I don't think I said I didn't like the old 6 GC, I prefer the interior of the rs7 and the awd performance. But the M6 is still a badass car
@@tornatic1983 more comfortable than the RS7 for sure. Higher tier interior. Epic massage seats. RS7 is a great one car combo. Like I'd be fine consolidating an s class and f type into an rs7. But having the cars more focused and dedicated to their respective purpose always seems better to me.
@@EddieX Appreciate your input bro. I previously had a supercharged C7 and E350. Traded in C7 for F Type and sold my E350. Looking at S550 as replacement. I like having the versatility of more than one car. Luxury 4 door and nice sports car. My little G35 is daily driver. Thanks again
Ride quality is pretty important to me. And the sports seats look good while offering enough comfort. They aren't like carbon buckets out of a Porsche GT3. The RS7 "comfort" seats look too much like sofas to be in a car like the RS7 imo.
I really want an RS7 but.. new brakes every 20,000 miles?? Hmm.. I think I’d get the S7 and buy a RS7 front bumper and RS7 seats and save myself a lot of money
Marc Lloyd yea please don’t do tht , you’ll be just like the guys with fake M badges on there 528i. And it dnt matter which line you get for Audi you’ll still pay the same price on brakes on all models .i had an s4,s6 and I paid over 1k for all around just for pads not rotors except if you get ceramic then it’ll b even for exaggerating
If I take mines to my bros at Eurowise it's around $120. Well at least that's how much it is for an R8. So somewhere in that ball park. I think it's like $300 at the dealership
How does this dude not even have $100,000 subscribers, especially after being apart of VV. This proves people would rather watch drama and clickbait like lifewithpalos and streetspeed rather than someone who actually cares about cars.

If you're adding. S class. Love the s class.
@@EddieX Yes sir id be adding. Why S Class bro?
Mention dealer cost for maintenance. Big, big help.
Have a bought the 2023 yet
I'm leaning more towards rs7 also. My remaining options are rs7 e63 amg or just getting a s6 or s8 and apr tune it
whatd you end up doing?
E63s 4matic is a beast, not as comfy but quicker car, m5 comp x drive best drive off the lot, ugly thou
Hey Eddie, what do you do for a living? and if I had to do it, how long until I can afford an RS7 ?
I am currently Director of Marketing for HPTuners. And the second part of your question is impossible to answer.
Yoo I got the same RF7 radial forged from Brixton on my bmw 335ix
Nice! They look great
How frequent is the turbo oil screen issue? Are we talking 20% of these cars or like 1%
It really has me wanting to avoid Audi
Enough that there is finally a recall I believe
Safety Recall Code: 21H7
Great info. You helped me on making my decision. Thank you !
4.0 tfsi engines blow up very often here in Europe
Well that's not good.
Hear this 8:15-8:30
Hey Eddie what you think of a 2014 rs7 with 160k for 44k cad ?
Do you still own the Shelby gt 350 ?
Yes but selling it
4:16 84F climate setting, this man is a serial killer.
It was cold and windy outside 😅
Advises to not get the comfort seats cause it's a sports car and goes on to say he got air suspension cause it's a luxury car.Confused?
Ride quality is pretty important to me. And the sports seats look good while offering enough comfort. They aren't like carbon buckets out of a Porsche GT3. The RS7 "comfort" seats look too much like sofas to be in a car like the RS7 imo.
Air suspension is actually so good! Once you get a car without you can’t get a car without it imo
Great detail. Thanks.
really useful video
I wanna know how to get monney to buy rs7 :)
Stop watching UA-cam videos and work.
How much does cost only oil change?
If I take mines to my bros at Eurowise it's around $120. Well at least that's how much it is for an R8. So somewhere in that ball park. I think it's like $300 at the dealership
@@master74569 Thanks!
It's like everything else.It depends on where you live.
Does it have remote start
No
How does this dude not even have $100,000 subscribers, especially after being apart of VV. This proves people would rather watch drama and clickbait like lifewithpalos and streetspeed rather than someone who actually cares about cars.
Well I'm just a $90,000 subscriber. Price dont matter. ;)
If that was the case none of these people would not be here.I would not pay $100,000 to be a subscriber for any channel.
Do RS7s support Apple Carplay?
From the factory, only the newest. Can be activated aftermarket on the C7s tho
Last generation looks wayyyyyyyy better than the new generation.
I think it's a cleaner look. New one is more aggressive tho.
I have a rs7 I smoke amgs daily
Does it have Apple CarPlay? Thanks!
Not my year. I believe starting in 2018.took them a while. But it can be retrofitted
@@EddieX Thanks! been thinking and thinking about getting one of those bad boys.
Channel should just be called EddieXRS7
Thaitan94 he’s selling the car idiot lol
A bunch of money out the window if that's the case! SMH
4:38 they need to get their vision checked
Ryan Sladic lmao
Thinking of trading in my 2019 Kia Stinger GT2 Ceramic Silver in for a 2016 Audi RS7 Nardo Gray... 😫
Sounds like a bad idea lol
😭 I want one but im broke boy status...
Glory to You!
*Dude you cant say your ownership costs was 25k when that's all aftermarket shit. That's a terrible break down*
Terrible
Oil change every 5k miles, you feeling ok?
Yes?
David Cohen u have no idea wat ur talkin about
I’m put off getting this car now, apparently it’s true,
man you need to read more... S6 and S7 has not forged engine, RS6 RS7, S8 has forged engine
