- Here is an easy recipe for a delicious thirst quenching drink. This is one of my Aguas Frescas Recipes that is sure to be a hit for your next party or BBQ. This drink should be served ice cold to beat the Summer heat. Please Subscribe for more recipes!

Medium sized watermelon (I used half in video)
6 cups water (I used 4 cups in video)
1/4 to 1/2 cup sugar (to your taste)
Lots of Ice
**This recipe makes 1 gallon to 1 1/2 gallon, if the whole watermelon is used with lots of ice.

Hello All, I hope everyone had a great weekend. Thank you all for watching the video. I wanted to address some questions I have seen in the comment section.
1) If you don't like adding sugar or water or ice, then don't. Blend the watermelon and have at it.
2)The reason I like adding water, sugar and ice is because it makes more of the drink, I like it ice cold and I like it sweet.
3) If you don't see your comment then it was probably rude or just plain mean. Read the about section on my channel if you wonder how I feel about trolls.
4) This recipe can be as easy or as complicated as you make it. I'm not reinventing the wheel or giving you a groundbreaking watermelon idea.

I never knew how to pick ripe watermelons this is life changing! Lol
Someone posted that the stripes on the watermelon indicate ripeness, but I've always looked for the yellow bottom where the watermelon sits. I read somewhere that the spot on the bottom goes through different shades and the more yellow sgade is what to look for. I have always had nice sweet watermelons using that method, but then again the stripes were dark green as well. 🤷 So maybe try both methods. 😁👍
I always see people bang on them like drums and I was told to bang on it and if it sounds hollow like a basketball than it's a good one if not it's not as ripe so I am wanting to check this new method
I look at the belly for the yellow spot, if that is not there I resort to thumping.

Your grand dad is the man! Seeds are one of the best nutrients in the watermelon along with the rind. Nothing beats the knowledge like the Ol Skool.

Another winner! I just finished watching your pineapple water video. Both juices beat the "heck" (babies may be watching) out of store bought juices! I think I will add sparkling water to the recipe.

Every fresh juice beats the hell out of store bought. For one thing, store bought isn't really juice.
Jack LaLaine juicers are awesome. Especially if you use cantaloupe.
That sparkling water idea is brilliant. I can almost taste Aqua Sandia made with sparkling water on a 100 deg day. Umm- ummm. Thanks for the idea.

I was looking for something because my big watermelon won’t fit in the fridge. This is perfect. Some people can’t agree to disagree. I think they got sent to bed without dinner, so now everyone has an opinion. You’re lovely. Your recipes are delicious, and you don’t need 483 people who hate agua frescas because they didn’t grow up with your grandpa or grandma making good things for them. They are bitter, ugly people with no souls or life in them and choose not to have diversity and yumminess in their lives. Loss for them. More for us. Lots of love from New Mexico.

was at a gas station with a eatery in it and they had a 10 gallon clear container full of a drink don't know what it was called but it was great. It had kiwi ,cucumber,pineapple,orange,lemon,lime,watermelon,cantaloupe,peaches,all in some juice.

I was craving this and my daughter loves watermelon she picked out a pre cut. Reminds me of my mom she would make agua de sandía in the summer when I was little. It was a little tricky because I have a ninja blender and I liked the way my mom would make it, chunky, so the trick was to add some ice and blend slowly. Ahh nostalgia 😋🍉

Makes me miss the Jamaicas we used to go to during the summer. I was a white girl playing sax in a Mexican band with my hubby! Fun times and great food!! Sometimes it was do t ask don't tell rule on what we were eating though! As long as it tasted good for the most part. This and horchata were definite faves!
my best friends grandma makes this and it’s honestly my favorite summer bev. lemme tell you if you’re into Arnold palmers skip the lemonade and add some of this to your tea (even add a lime if you want some citrus over ice of course) seriously so refreshing and amazing.

I only use watermelon usually keeping the pulp (I personally love it) then add ice. I don't use any water which I find only waters it down and takes away the sweetness.
If I need to serve a large crowd then I use the method in the video and use water and sugar only to make it go further but it's not as good imo.
Vodka is also good for adult drinks

Ever try Fresca ice cubes?
During the summer I get different flavored sparkling water from Walmart and use them for ice cubes and drinks instead of water. (minimizing sugars too) A ginormous amount of different combinations with different ice cubes in different water etc.

I love watermelon juice. I run it through my juicer and use a 1:1 ratio to water. It's so refreshing. No sugar.

I loved this when I was down in Mexico, they had a juice restaurant from from 7 am to 12 or 1 pm Sandia and pepino, was my 2 favorites. Sadly no one opens a juice restaurant in the states. I lost xo much weight juicing
