The fox is the creepiest for me. One night I was in bed in the pitch darkness trying to sleep when i suddenly heard what sounded like a woman screaming right outside my window. I realized it was probably a fox but I was terrified nonetheless 😳
One nite around 3am I was sitting on my porch enjoying the nite. I live in the foothills of the Smokies and my home bordered the national forest on 2 sides. That nite a very clear and a long drawn out howl came from behind my property in the forest. It even echoed thru the valley. I sat a moment to see if it would happen again. I couldn't make out what could have made it. But it was never repeated. Coyote was common but it definitely wasn't coyote. No mountain lion either. As I sat there I suddenly felt myself get the creeps and a strong urge to get back in the house. I have never ever heard that howl again. To this day I still don't know what kind of animal it was.
In remote Alaska and hearing those horrific screams that sounds like a woman being murdered in the middle of the night by something with a massive chest capacity is unforgettable.
We live way out in the country and have a stock pond. A group of coyotes usually come out at night, about 12 in the group . Their whooping cries can sometimes frighten you.. really eerie!
Oooooo I could see the barn owl screech almost sounding like a woman screaming, and the elk bugling could potentially sound like someone being attacked.
The scariest sounds I've ever witnessed was at night in a campground in Colorado. The elk were everywhere, bugaling, but then we heard coyotes, a whole pack of them. More coyotes, more elk, then, what can only be described as a dying elk, howls, then silence. No sleep that night
I live in the woods in the deep south of Alabama. Around 2:30am this morning I heard something I've never heard before. And I've heard most of the animals of these woods many many times but whatever this was had my dogs and cats on edge. It sounded like the beginning of a goat and a woman screaming at the same time. I've looked up all the animals that I could think of just to double check and none of them compare to what I heard. I've also never experienced the woods going silent until last night. It was to the point my ears were ringing and that is what made me realize it was extremely quiet. And then about 10 mins later the bugs started up again. Trust me when I say these woods are never silent. We have cows, donkeys, and all the rest of the usual so it's never quiet. Also I need to add there were a couple owls in the field that were hooting back and forth for awhile before this started and then one of the owls started making these hoots I'd never heard before and less than a minute later the screaming started. Idk if it was warning the other animals or what. I was frozen while it was happening but when it stopped I got my phone ready to record if it started again but it didn't. Any thoughts?
Something very scary lives in the wild.😳 You are the third person in these comments with a similar report. The comment after yours suggested a fisher. They are a smallish animal, aren't they? They wouldn't have a "massive chest capacity" so I doubt a fisher would sound like that. Two voices at once should be a clue for someone with more knowledge than me.
Coyotes can sound very scary and very close especially if there is more than one of them! I have literally locked and barricaded my doors in the past due to the sound of coyotes!!! V.L.

I live in Australia and I heard a creepy noises coming from a door that is right next to my room, only just found out it was a koala. I didn’t know koala’s sounded like that😭 it was like a really deep “ggrrrrrHUHgrrrrr”. And also the kookaburra one sounds fine to me, I hear it daily and i find it mean cuz it just laughs at me 🙃. Like what am I doing wrong kookaburra? Geez.

One voice sounded like a woman being raped. The other was lower and sounded like some terrible monster. It scared me to death and I rushed into the house and locked the door. I thought a locked door would not protect me from whatever made that sound.
I was riding a mountain bike trail alone in the black hills national forest and the trees were so thick I couldn't see around a horseshoe corner - on the other side of the trees, I heard grunting similar to that of a gorilla. Since we don't have gorillas here and the sound unnerved me, I retraced my path and quietly snuck out of the forest. It turned out to be an elk in rut. I heard the sound again and saw it began to bugle on the same trail a few years later.
Not a right video brother you simply ignored one of the scariest sounding animal in the wild ,a tiger a tigers territorial or mating call especially a males is indeed a last thing you wanna hear.
I had something at my window 2 3 different times. It was very loud and deep. Like a lion. OMG. My blood sure did run cold. I've never been so scared in my life because we don't have big cats around here. I live in RI. I have a little recording, I was very lucky to get that. He was at a distance and nothing like the loud roars. Mabe someone can help me figure out what it was. I will try to upload the recording. I'd love to know. Stop this at 2.02 exactly and listen If this doesn't work I will try another way.
Obviously....all you could do was put some videos of the animals together with some sound clips you have. Takes so much away from it when u can't see the ANIMAL making the noises...at least with some animals, like Barn Owls....both making no noise with a Track playing of them Screeching....and then the lions...these videos should be easy to find. So playing video of a lion YAWNING and adding a Roar on top of it at 3:13 is pitiful and really deceptive for many who don't know better. Then doing a Repeating territory/Location roar and playing what sounds more like Challenge roar on top of that - as we see then at 3:20, shows you have little time for authenticity.... and therefore, will never really collect followers. Step up your game...do a bit of work and it will pay off!
This is a very false information about animals and their sounds. These animal sounds are coming from the animals that are protecting themselves in the middle of the night one encounter with other dangerous animals they are cries coming from the animals themselves cries of protection cries of other actuations like in the middle of fights, the animals make these ferocious sounds because they are actually in pain because they are in battle with other animals!!! None of these sounds are really scary you should get your information correct before you let it out in the public. There’s pretty much one sound that is very creepy and that is the main wolf do your research get it right look up real animal sounds that scare the crap out of you in the middle of the night!
That's a really interesting take. That said, I am not sure in the middle of the night I'd hear a sound and think, "That's just the sound of an animal protecting itself" and not be scared by it. "Scary" is in the eyes of the beholder (or listener). Not sure I find all of these scary, but if I were walking through the woods at night, they'd all certainly give me a pause.
