....Back in the 80's-mid 90's I had a Blue & Gold Macaw...At first he was very much untamed...Then I took him to a lady who kept him for about 3 weeks...after that, she instructed me to tell the bird to 'step up' onto my hand and I would then hold my thumb over one toe...Reason was, so I could keep control...If I opened a garage door or if something else 'startled' the bird, I would maintain a hold on him...They are usually a 'one person bird'...When they bob up and down and raise their head feathers, its a sign they are very relaxed around you...I loved to 'roll the white covering' off off his head feathers, as I believed he enjoyed it, as his eyes would close as I worked with his feathers...Which is another sign of trust....Another sign of trust is if you can rub the face black feathers...Sometimes the white skin area would blush pink...I was able to trim my birds toe nails back a bit and cut back the 4-5 'flight feathers' on the wings...The idea was he might not be able to gain flight if he did get away...And the nail trimming was so when being held it wasn't so painful...By holding the bird on my hand and not on my shoulder like you see in pirate movies, meant you wouldn't get poop on your shirt..!....I always feed him assorted whole nuts, some sunflower mix, fruits & vegetables and water with vitamin drops...Nothing else like any junk food ever...Just healthy food....Best regards...!
Just saying never impulse buy any animal (or really anything) do your research and see if you’d be a good fit and have all the things to keep a bird (money, time, patience, persistence , space )and remember they are not domesticated so don’t expect them to love you straight away I might even take years and most of them live for over 10 years and macaw up to 100 if great care thanks for reading if you did and for further Research if you are looking to get a bird BirdTricks yt Elle and birds yt Marlene mc’hoen yt love of pets yt parrot wizard yt and flying’s fids yt are all great 👍
plz make video on parrot baby care and feeding with proper way. I am new i buy 5 baby 4 are die because the food is stuck in neck and baby neck color becoming light red and baby slow slow not eating and die.
Hey no offence but maybe next time dont go buying baby parrots or any animal without research first to prevent them from dying due to lack of experience from you...?

My McCaw used to open Brazil nuts but we don’t give him these nuts , don’t need a broken beak .

They are also losing numbers because of illegal poaching
