ngl you made me feel so much better about myself, i used to be gm1/top 500 and I'm still stuck masters after reset, not gonna say I don't have room for improvement because I do, but i've felt so let down and miserable by myself that hearing what you said at 10:00 makes me feel better Ive had a game going 31-7 with 10k dmg more than the rest of my team still losing because the dps are dying twice as much as the enemies and don't touch in ot last fight
I also think you can be hard stuck just because you’re stubborn with your hero choices. If you wanna one trick a hero like Zarya, you better be prepared for a struggle on maps with long sight lines
To be fair, I don’t remember the exact date that this overthink was recorded so it may have been before her changes! I usually upload overthinks the week after they’re recorded but I didn’t have an editor for a couple weeks so we are a lil behind!
I’d like to see an episode discussing all the accessibility options they have added overtime. Being handicapped, the more accessibility options helps even the playing field such as the color options available, but also discussing other possibilities not yet added. Just having individual footstep sounds from each character already is one that may be overlooked.
Greed’s talk about ranking to GM was a breath of fresh air. I have to come to terms that I’m not going to get out of silver unless I do a ridiculously long grind. I’ve been playing this game since 2016 and i’ve made gold (one time almost plat) a couple of times, but I play too casual to realistically climb.
Thanks for the kind words! Also, as someone who has hit GM on dps on 2 different accounts (not during the “boosted” seasons) and has only peaked masters since the rank reset, you’re valid ❤ there’s a lot of us in the same boat! We will get there eventually :)
Girl come off it. It is my teammates. I’ve played overwatch since the beginning it came out in the beta of ow1. I’m still lewrning new things and I know I can be a part in why we lose but my team yes are just bad half the time. With a good group 5 stack I’ve got to high masters. Could’ve got higher if I was consistent in playing.
@ lol yeah probably. I’m just saying that it can’t be completely all on me. I know that sometimes I could do something wrong. Most of the time it’s very small and not noticeable but because I’ve played for so long I just remember not to do it. I do make mistakes but it’s not consistent enough to why we lose. Almost completely all the time i don’t make a mistake that will cost a fight as a support main. If I solo queue or duo or whatever I am basically gambling on if my teammates can be competent. Idk how to explain it ahaha. My paragraph probably makes no sense 😭
6:15 no. Queue times are not the good argument. I would rather wait 10 minutes to have one enjoyable experience that lasts 10 minutes than play three games that are just 'what am i doing with my life?' in 20 minutes. ... when you play 3 games in a row that are just nonsense and someone says, 'well, hey, at least you played 3 games,' is one of the dumbest things ive ever heard in my life.
90% of the playerbase don't want to wait for 20 min to play a game, it's reasonable. Imagine you come after work and you have like 1.5 hour to play. How much games you can play in that time? 2-3 games at best. And also I played in ow1. There were same amount of one sided games as ow1. Because when matchmaking can't find a game for 20 min it gives matches where players have 15 division difference and quality of match drops a lot. All of my friends dropped ow1 cus of the queue times. It's not fun to wait more time in menu than play the game. So imho devs made right decision to prioritize queue times (which is important for 90% of the playerbase) over balance problems (which is important to waaay lower amount of ppl)
chanel1 here, youre basically implying that every single game you get in 6v6 is gonna be an enjoyable expierence which is just simply not true, also the q times with 6v6 were NOT 10 mins for supports or dps, it would reach 20+ plus and even higher if youre above like plat, 6v6 q times can be compared to the current q times we have for wide matches, also as adressed in the video, if youre constantly losing and doing bad, its not your teammates fault, its yours and if you keep on playing over and over well then obviously you do find some aspects of a game fun and if you didnt find anything fun about the game then you would just simply not play it, there would be no point cuz at the end of the game its just a video game
Meh most of the meta heroes I'm butt cheeks with or I don't like to play and play the heroes I enjoy to play. But also if I was good to be higher I would have been there by now 🤷♂, I also think it's a cop out to say that anyone could... there's a reason there is so little people in that rank, some just aren't going to be good enough plain and simple.
I honestly dont know where this is coming from. Even if you SOLELY compared the primary weapon damage of each hero, not a single Support hero can out-damage any of the Damage ones. The biggest culprits seem to be levied at Bap, Zen and Ilyari. The first two whose primary fire numbers are in the 125dps region. Zen with discord is still 20dps LESS than Soldier does on body shots without discord! Ilyari has some of the lowest dps numbers in the whole roster, only Moira and Brig are lower, and even has a lower headshot multiplier than most other heroes too! And this is without considering secondary abilites like helix missiles and other sources of damage the Damage heroes have. They also have just as many sources of invulnerability, teleportation, self-healing, sustain and mobility etc. as the damage heroes. Now if you wanna correct me, maybe there are factors i'm not seeing here, please, enlighten me. Because the repetition of this statement mystifies me when the numbers just dont support it.
All I'm saying is walnut said I played one game of genji, and found my passion on support... Dawg probably spammed I need healing and no wanted to. That's my take
@@aidendavies4648 If your dps dont get elims and your tank feeds at the same time there is nothing you can do as support. You basically become personal healbot of the tank and if you even turn your head once to do dmg and try to get an elim yourself the tank dies. Try to solo q support on an old account (with already existing support mmr) if you wanna loose your mind. You basically need most heal most dmg and most elims as support to win a game in diamond on an old account. On a new account its completly different because you will get decent teammates that know how to use cover or get elims themself.
Comparing roles on how "easy" they are makes no sense. Do people not realize that each role is relative to the amount of people within a certain rank? If support is so easy everyone would be top 500, oh wait.

Wait till this guy learns about Bogur's Winston to top 500 with no sound and like 480p with no hud

Update: found out the date for this episode was September 4th. Can’t remember if that was before or after any Juno changes though lol
I’ve randomly hit gm playing kiriko in season 8 and I’m a diamond player so I guess everyone can do it if they tried
