My brows are a real issue. They are thick and dark, but need constant trimming and plucking and grow downwards (not flattering). Soap is the only thing that's strong enough to change the hair's direction, but also makes me look insane, like Groucho territory!! The gels don't do much honestly. I'm at a loss.

I just did a thing on this on my Insta- I suggest using pears or nutrogena (both are on Amazon) you want to be sure you get a nice consistency paste working BEFORE you apply - so let it dry a bit - also a benefit spoolie works good a regular one seems to really pick up a lot of gunk- if you don’t want the spiky straight up brows then just smooth down the spikes with your spoolie that has some of the product still on it.

Check out Alice Lockhart! She has a ton of different versions with warmer and cooler tones. Some of them don't directly cater to the smokey eye category but there are helpful tips and product recommendations to be repurposed.

So are brows that have been overdrawn and look like huge fake caterpillars on your face. There’s a happy medium and usually it’s just a bit of filling in on your natural eyebrows. JMO.
Of all my "I wish I woke up like this" wishes, my brows done would be number one. I over plucked them when tiny skinny brows were in style in the eighties
That's no silly question! In my experience it never has been a problem. Never had soapsweat drip into my eyes. Also: I ride my bike a lot and never had soap run down when it rains and your whole face is WET with rain. Wet enough for my mascara go byeeeee, but the soap didn't bother me.
