MSB ‘from the archives’ - Massed Bands: They shall come from the east (Kevin Larsson) 2012

‘Band Together for Africa’ was a special event held in 2012 with special guest, Bandmaster Dr Stephen Cobb from the International Staff Band.
The massed bands comprised over 120 band members from:
- Melbourne Staff Band
- Box Hill Band
- Camberwell Band
- Ringwood Band
- Waverley Temple Band
Programme Note:
Originally written for the USA Southern Territorial Band, this arrangement uses one of the most well known Gowans and Larsson songs from the musical, 'The blood of the lamb'. This song, known all around the world, is given an 'African' treatment which builds to a majestic climax emphasising the words:
'From every tribe and every race,
All men as brothers shall embrace;
They shall come from the east, they shall come from the west,
And sit down in the Kingdom of God.'
