The most common sinkers, the Bank Sinker and the Pear Sinker are good cheap sinkers you can buy almost anywhere - but the biggest problem with them is, although they have the weight to do the job, they do not have bait clips to help you cast farther and reach distances you might want to reach - This DIY video shows you a very simple way to put a bait clip on to sinkers that do not have a bait clip and help you reach distances with big baits that you previously can not reach. This is an easy DIY and is something that can make a difference, especially in slow days when you need to reach less pressured areas with a big long cast. 1374657803$!$%%@)*$#)!1thneonglnsiwbttatest
This is a super helpful video. I didn't have wire so I heated a suitable size spare hook with a match, cut and bent it. Attached to sinker with a split ring or clip.
Nice glad it helped. Tig welding wire would work too
Nice idea!!
How reliable are paper clips?
Where I'm from, galvanized wire is sold at very small diameter, The gauge 16 is sold in tons only (for industrial use) unfortunately.
another option is steel hangers, do you think they would work?
these are temporary clips, when you need one in a bind. hanger wire is too thick, if you want something permanent - the real clips work much better. I made this video to show people a way to clip their baits when they already have things rigged and need one fast...its not to replace the real stuff.

Thanks for the response
The real stuff are expensive to loose, I guess paper clips will do for now.
Tight lines!
Best i seen ...

GREAT VIDEO 😊
Thanks! Glad it helped you!!!
Great video. Can you give an example of the entire rig?
Hi Werner, it's just a very simple single hook dropper rig, but you just add the "bait clip" on the sinker to cast farther.
I doing dis from now on... 💯🔨🔨
awesome :) Glad it was helpful!
Nice idea
Thank you! Cheers!
A cost effective alternative for an impact bait clip. Thanks for the idea
@@patrickobligacion4428 plastic bait clips are junk. Wind catching, expensive, hard to get, unclip in the air, junk.
Just buy a bag of bait clips 😉 use a pully rig or an up and over rig.
And if you are in a place like this and you can't get them what would you do? Its easy when it's for sale, when you can't buy then then its a problem. Even if you can order them from the uk or something, it comes out more expensive coz of import duties, what am i supposed to do then?
@@TheFishingKit thats a fair point apogolies👍 if you can get your hands on any stainless stell tig welding rods its great stuff for making clips amd lead links .
Yup, that's how I normally make my clips, - the video is about putting a bait clip on an already rigged sinker that doesn't have a bait clip.
