Ninja k I totally agree w eliminating sugar. As soon as I eat sugar, my scalp starts to itch pretty bad. I also eliminated dairy and meat. I’ve lost a lot of weight. Now taking plant protein supplements to gain it back. What a journey it has been
Thank you a million times for this video. I just had a terrible reaction to extensions for the first time in 4 years. I finally decided to see my dermatologist for it. Thank you for sharing.
Hey, I have the same issue, and wanted to share a few things that may help since I know those feels. I've had some pretty good luck with epsom salt (magnesium sulfate, not actual salt) and oils high in omega 3's. With omega 3's, and I am sorry I don't remember the exact science behind it since I've a bad memory, but if your body doesn't get enough omega 3's, then the fungus on your scalp which causes seborrheic dermatitis, malassezia, feeds on oleic acid which is inflammatory, which contributes to the inflammation problem. I don't remember exactly where I read this, but omega 3's are def anti inflammatory and oleic acid causes inflammation. It's helped me quite a bit, but not all the way since I have other medical issues which may contribute to my own personal problem. Good luck!
This is exactly why I sadly won't loc my hair. It's hard enough of a struggle with loose hair. Whenever I get braids or twist my hair, after a few days, my scalp becomes unbearable. It's almost like, it's not just that the flakes are stuck. It's like grouping my hair in sections almost aggravates the condition.
I changed my diet. I cut my locs off, unfortunately. and that was due to the dermetitis. everything she is saying is true. but I did heal my scalp. I fasted and my hormones finally adjusted back to normal. Over the counter and doctor bull crap is just that, bull crap. I did it God's way. I am plant based. sugar/oil/salt free. You are what you eat. shampoo is the worse thing you can do to your scalp because it is so drying. sulfate free conditioner only method worked wonders for me. that was my breakthrough. the doctor stated that I would have this for the rest of my life. I wasnt born with it, so I got rid of it.
Praise God! This is awesome & refreshing to hear. I am beginning a plant based lifestyle to begin the healing process in every area. What type of conditioner do you use? Also, Is there a shampoo that you use? Thank you for sharing!
I feel your pain. Coal tar and the k poo worked for me for years. I stopped using them when I read that coal tar might cause cancer. I've been using onion juice on my scalp as a pre poo and an ACV rinse before my conditioner. I haven't had a breakout in over a year. I wish you all the best of luck in finding what works for you.
I use coal tar and salicylic acid shampoo with apple cider vinegar for the final rinse and also for my face. I only use ketokenazol for really bad flare ups. I got so disheartened and desperate because of how quickly my head and face got so greasy so soon after a good shower, but recently I've come up with a routine am comfortable with.
I was recently ( about two days ago) diagnosed with seborhehic dermatitis. For awhile, I thought my scalp was just dry. Even after washing thoroughly, directly in the center of my head would itch so bad and become tender. So I would add more and more oil thinking it was dry, which caused more harm than good. Using the ketoconazole shampoo has worked wonders.
My daughter uses the same shampoo, her dermatologist prescribed it to her. It does work wonders. We were also told not to put oil on her scalp because as we learned it makes it worse.
I learned I had to cut back on gluten, dairy, and stop stressing out. My flakes got so bad, you could see it on my sheets when I wake up in the morning. Bless you for braving it out with locs. I won’t even get braids. I’m now on a routine of seabreeze every other wash, head and shoulders clinical shampoo, then wash with regular products. But everyone is different. Growing up my ma used Sulfur 8 grease to scratch my scalp, but it smells so medicinal.
This is fear of mine. I did my hair in braids and within a week the braids were dirty so I shudder to think about locks. Thing is there is only so much I can do with my hair now.
@@callmesupreme1533 5 years in Oct. but this scalp issue is horrible. Again it started with the locs and hopefully it ends with them after I comb them out. Honestly its started off small and has gotten progressively worse each year.
@@blisslove3758 mine too ! Smh October it’ll make 3 years for me it’s mostly bad in the front it got so bad it was on the top of my forehead some too .. it will make you want to remove the locs !
I feel you pain. My mom said she had this but she grew out of it...well when I'm 30 now. Lol I used Jamaican Black Castrol oil and I look like I have cradle cap...Glad I found this video thank you.
I also have this condition... I'm in the starter stage of dreads so I totally understand.I can't count how many dermatologists I went to before I found one that helped. I've been given so many products but none worked. I found a dermatologist about 7 years ago and it works wonder. I use the ketoconazole 2% shampoo as well. But I give myself a hot oil treatment 1st before I wash with a combination of organic olive oil, coconut oil and tea tree oil. Then I wash with m.medicated shampoo. I then follow up with Bronner Bros peppermint castile soap. I add oil and let air dry. Once dry the dermatologist prescribed Clobetasol Propionate Topical Solution 0.05%. This was the game changer. I use as needed. But when I experience a flare up it gets my hair right. I apply to affected area 2x a day.
I use juice from a yellow onion (I blend it with a little water), sieve it, and then mix it with apple cider vinegar in a glass bowl and mix it with a wooden or plastic spoon and leave it on my scalp for an hour or more. I'm seeing really good results. For the first time in a long time, my scalp feels actually clean!
Hi Loc crush, you have been an inspiration for me since before I started my journey specifically for this issue I have endured for years, and I was concerned my scalp would cause build up in my locs. I learned in my teens by accident that I have food intolerances over the years I have got to understand my body and how it reacts much better. I don't use any medical treatments because they don't address the root cause. As you mentioned wheat is a culprit for some and certainly is for me and my head would literally itch within 5 mins of eating wheat products. Anyway I recently became vegan and processed foods I cut out (its a real education especially when eating out) and discovered through process of elimination table salt is another culprit restaurants and takeaways use it and I used to eat a lot of salted crisps. There doesn't seem to be much info out there about the affects of table salt separate from sea salt on the body but I noticed a link between eating and itchiness which contain table salt. I also discovered soaking 2 caps of apple cider vinegar to a bowl of warm water gets the white flakes to float out the locs. I did this 3 times today then showered and exfoliated gently with exfoliation gloves (maybe easier then picking out white bits, but my roots are nowhere near as tidy as yours the majority of the time) and then I spray my scalp in a water peppermint essential oil mist after initial dab dry. I also lightly oil my scalp with a tea tree oil and peppermint oil mix just to maintain the health of my scalp. It seems to work. I wash once a week now which is much better. Before it could be up to 3 times a week depending on my diet. If you come unstook my solutions have been pretty harmless. Look forward to watching more of your videos. Your hair is beautiful. I have started steaming again, thanks for the reminder. Stay blessed x
Dam...I never considered my diet. I've recently been buying alot of candy. I'm in college, I feel like it reduces some sort of stress I have, but this was also the same time my dermatitis popped up.
Sugar kills the B vitamin complex that is needed for healthy hair and skin; a big factor in problems like this. It's difficult because sugar is addictive.
Playdattrack refined sugar depletes your body of important vitamins and minerals, so do white flour products leaving you more susceptible to health problems.
Osito Kintsugi Exactly! I fell back into too much energy drinks which are loaded with sugar, lollipops, alcohol..just poor habits.. We all have to do better!
Thankyou for this. I've had my locs for 12 years and I always had dandruff but the last 2 years I just had had scaly fish scalp. I totally changed my diet, drank tons of water and vitamins and switched to African black soap for shampoo and used shea butter on my scalp, but it seems to be very strong and tough skin that peels off in a dark color. I used heavy oils on my hair and found out that my scalp is allergic to coconut oil! The back of my neck would peel going up into my scalp. I know I have to go to the doctor because I am SO tired of moisturizing my scalp when nothing happens!
I used to use the medicated shampoos and I even took pills but stopped because they were too strong for permanent usage. My dermatologist told me to wash my hair every day, not gonna happen, so I have used different oil combinations on my scalp when it flares up but regardless I have to wash my hair every few days.
I had bouts as a loose natural to extent of altering my hair texture. I changed to a vegan lifestyle, reduced sugar, and greatly reduced wheat. No problems since. Nutrition is everything! Peace.
I had this same problem it use to drive me crazy. I poured apple cider vinegar in a bowl with a lil water to dialute, I took a rag, dipped it in the mixture and rubbed it between each loc ( around and in between) it very time consuming and it burns like hell! I did that every wash day which was once a week. It started getting worse like it was fighting back or something 🤷♀️ then it left completely. I also changed my diet, started being consistent with workouts, drink more water, use less sugar, changed my shampoo, use grease instead of oils because the oils ran off, use rose water to keep hair moist and I only air dry, I don't use heat. I have been consistent with this for months and it eventually left
Yeah, it really helps, but the thing is to consider eating lots of vegan fatty foods for optimal absorption of vitamins and protein synthesis.. And exercise.
and unnecessary chemicals in tap water can cause buildup, always wash your hair with filter and distilled water, also in my grannies recipe book she mentioned raw honey as a topical and alternative antibiotic..I wash my hair with honey and other humectants...they really heal the scalp and clean your hair, but with locs it must be diluted with water and applied on freshly washed hair..beauty supply stores, avoid it,my family is not allowed to bring those alopecia, dermatitis, cancer causing chemicals in my house,it's all set up..we have to shop online and make most of our own products
My husband has this issue with about 6 locs on the back of his head. When I can not do his hair myself and he has to go to a salon to get his hair done, the stylist does not clean out this build up from the locs only his scalp! Apple cider vinegar helps. But I have to pay attention to make sure his scalp is not dry.
I literally feel the same way and have yet to find any idea as to what it could be until now.. I also have yet to figure out how to treat it since I’ve also got locs but getting a dermatologist would be a good start hahaha
Sis....... I feel your pain. I got it around my nose too. Just found out that it could be my diet and will be making changes. I got a prescription shampoo and that mess didn't do anything. The shampoo that has helped me is "As I Am"
i'm so glad I'm not alone on this. I was so scared because this just started happening to me a few months ago and it was so embarrassing. Wish I would have seen this earlier
I thought maybe this was just me but that 3:10 that description was perfect on how I have always seen my scout I would feel bad or like something was wrong with my hair but Thankyou for this information and I went to a dermatologist they were white and their prescribe products wasn’t helping
Totally totally understand how you feel😩 I literally have to wash my hair weekly and I've tried everything been to doctor to doctor but it still flakes. Super frustrating
@@sivaprakas2830 the sun produce natural oils for our hair and kills all fungus in it. Without vitamin D, our hair will become dry, thin, and fall out. Nature doesn't make any mistakes. God doesn't make any mistakes. I've been out in the sun for hours let me tell you, it helped my hair out a lot and made me look younger, feel younger, and feel great. Lucky I can't lose hair because of genetics I get my hair growth from my mom and dad side. Stop blaming stuff on nature and start treating your body and hair right. Also, you can spray water on your hair, drink water and get sunlight. They prevent alopecia that cause your hair to grow bald spots. Also, you can eat pecans that helps hair grow. If you're consuming a lot of sugar or a lot of processed foods, that cause your hair to become flakey and have dandruff. You need sunlight in order to have a healthy body. Wake up and stop letting the system bullshit you! The sun doesn't cause cancer or hair to fall out for black people. The reason people get skin cancer and bad hair is because they are consuming a lot of toxic foods and drinks, and not getting any sunlight. Sunscreens cause cancer, too, when you go out in the sun with it on your body. Americans have became so dumbed down they don't even know anything anymore.
Queen, you are gorgeous! I'm currently going through it with my scalp. I'm pretty sure I don't have seborrheic dermatitis, but just a bad case of dandruff. I've been using Vitamin E oil to massage in my scalp. I need to change my diet, and drink more water too! I'm hoping to try some of the tips you gave- that Prepoo sounds amazing!
I am so so thankful you posted this. Im struggling with this and I’d really like to know how you keep your edges so thick. It’s been very embarrassing for me because none of my dermatologists understand my hair type. I can’t go washing my hair daily and risk making it even more dry. My hair has started falling out and I’m so scared. Pls reply, thanks again.
Been dealing with this since I had my middle child. Nothing. Nothing works! I was told that the hormonal change caused it and it was just something I have to live with.
Tea tree oil works 100%. I had this issue and was going to cut off my locs I used tea tree oil and no more. The smell is over bearing but it's worth it.
@@bilimlrr7764 put half a teaspoon in a spray bottle add half cup of warm water. Spray on scalp, let sit for half hour. Wash hair, you will still smell the tea tree oil so use peppermint essential oil on the last wash. I had this scalp condition sooooo bad, but thanks to the tea tree oil it's been gone for almost 2 years. Good luck!
I am so relating to your story. When my hair was relaxed, I used Nizoral twice then a less expensive dandruff shampoo four times to get rid of flakes. As you know, SD flakes can stick to the hair. That is why I shampooed six times. I have been a natural girl for almost two years. I use apple cider vinegar rinse by Cantu or make my own ACV rinse with water and leave on my scalp for 15 minutes before shampooing with tea tree oil shampoo. I use a combination of tea tree oil, peppermint oil, and eucalyptus oil mixed with carrier oil sweet almond applied to my scalp when wet. I massage it in and I do the same thing every night before bed on dry hair until wash day. It seems to be working. When I remember to use SheaMoisture African Black Soap Dandruff & Dry Scalp Elixir that helps too.
I have seborrheic dermatitis with thick curly hair. My scalp was getting better after I was prescribed a special shampoo from the dermatologist(the same one you have I think), but once I got box braids it was all downhill. It’s worse than it’s ever been now and I’m trying to wash my hair more often to help it heal again but I feel like my hair is thinning out and I’m only 13 so it’s so scary and I feel like clawing at my scalp 24/7😭😭
Thank you so much for posting this information. I can so identify with everything you are sharing. The itching will drive you mad, and I am allergic to all medications, I have been challenged with this issue since I was 4-5 yrs old. And now both of my grandsons have it. 😱😳🥴✌🌹
Hey D!!! You are still as gorgeous as you were in grade school! I needed this tutorial, been wanting to find a good dermatologist that understands the love of locs and not just tell me to chop them off. Great info and insight, I am not alone in the struggle. I am sure my sugar intake plays a major role, but I'm encouraged to know there are some treatments that will allow me to keep my locs. thanks for you sharing your journey.. blessings!
I had a few patches on my scalp throughout years but somehow they disappeared and I don't know the reason. The only problem I still have is seb. dermatitis on my face. Scaly eyebrows, cheeks, nose and chin with minimum redness. It flares up in the winter and when I lack some sleep.
I definitely feel your pain. I have seborrheic dermatitis as well. I found that the ketoconazol shampoo makes my hair really hard and seems to alter texture. I have also found that DHS perithione zinc shampoo works well for flare-ups. I use head and shoulders Royal oils collection for maintenance. I also use scalpacin on my scalp to stop the itching when I have braids.
Everyone please try... I'm using the BLUE line from "As I Am" Dry & Itchy Scalp Care: Olive oil & Tea Tree for Dandruff... Get the shampoo, conditioner, co-wash, leave -in conditioner and the oil... Tired of cornflakes myself... Good luck!! 💛
My scalp went crazy when Covid shutdown the United States. I didn't know what was going on, because I've always had a hard time with dandruff; but when I got real sick in 2020 (I think I had Corona virus) my entire head was flaking. My eye brows were flaking. I was in survival mode; so, I didn't know what was wrong with me. I went to jail, because the hospital would not take me and I figured the jail has to treat you if you get sick. I started my locs in November of 2020. I haven't done anything to my head except watch the flakes migrate as my hair grows. I decided today to untwist my hair, remove the flakes and wash my hair, and I'm going to pay someone hopefully to retwist my locs.
Something similar happened to my daughter. During the shutdown and after she got sick her scalp started flaking and she has a few bald spots from scratch. Evey hair folical use to be full of hair now it's not .
At my 3 year mark, I pulled out my locs because my patience is trash. 😂 And the build-up from this condition is annoying. 🙄😩 I've tried everything including home remedies. 😣
I have this on my face! I have been taking supplements to treat my cortisol issues, and my skin has dramatically improved. I agree with her that it's an internal problem.
I feel like crying. I have maturing sisterlocks and I was diagnosed with SD after my installation. 2 years later and I'm still struggling. It is now coming on my face so I soak for 5 min in acv and water before I wash with nizoral. My locs are starting to unravel and break off. I am trying to get back with a dermatologist but I dont have insurance and cant afford the visit. I am so frustrated I feel like crying and cutting off all my beautiful hair🥺😥
I don't ever get ant flakes on my scalp. The only thing I get is extremely itchy and some small red sores, maybe like 3-5 on my scalp that range in pain. My head is the most itchy after a retwist, the next day or 2 it starts itching bad then the small sores start to come. Doesn't matter who does it or what products they use. Was the same way when I was a kid and I had cornrows.
This whole time I thought it was psoriasis of the scalp and face. But then I looked at pictures and I even experience the color change at the roots. Dermatologist even said it was psoriasis. I have it around my ears too.
Wow,after all these years I thought I was the only one dealing with this. I’ve had this issue since birth. I had locs for 13yrs and was the hardest to deal with. Everyone told me to use tea tree oil, worse mistake of my life. I’m allergic!! It makes my scalp produce a thicker scab. Nothing has worked but I’ve noticed it’s been better as I age.
I went to a dermatologist and I was prescribed a topical oil but she really didn’t give me any details about what I’m lacking in my diet or whatever but she mentioned something about immune system. It says I should apply for 4 hours or overnight then wash with regular shampoo every day for two weeks but I have something against washing my hair every single day, that’s just strange, I never washed my hair every day.
Hi Loc Crush! How are you? I love your hair! I'm 10 months in my loc journey. I have dandruff. I've had it all my life to be honest. I have never been to a dermatologist about my scalp. I try to oil my scalp every 3 to 4 days when I see it's dry. I've been using rose water to moisturize my hair with some essential oils in it. I only get my hair retiwsted once every month. So, sometimes I'll try to hold out on washing my hair until then. That's not working for me. Could you give me some advice please?
I've been taking 1oz of Braggs Apple cider vinegar and 1oz of a natural shampoo combined in a hair dye bottle, and massaging into my scalp. Allow it to sit for a few minutes then rinse. It works amazing! When I first started I would apply ACV to my scalp the night before my wash day but know that the condition is almost non existent I only need to add the ACV to my shampoo. Hope this helps someone else!
I have the same condition and I have been to numerous dermatologist. My scalp gets bad and I have it in my eyebrows. Some days it won’t flake and some days it won’t stop
I've struggled for all my life with this. We have a 3 year generations with it. Its genetic too. My best tip is medicated shampoo weekly. Its not a question u must wash weekly with medicated shampoo. Drink lots of water. No grease and barely any products outside of water . for moisturiser i find that diluted coconut unrefined oil and a lil tea tree helps but mostly water. Dry hair thoroughly with microfiber tshirt after washes.
So i finally found a solution to treat my seborrhic dermatitis without even trying to, a year ago i stopped using deodorant and started applying lime juice on my underarms and my seborrhic dermatitis went away so i strongly think lime can be a good cure because it is acidic and what causes your scalp to flake is all the excess of sebum. Although before applying lime to your body you should test it first somewhere on your body like maybe your hands to make sure it doesnt burn your skin.
Beautiful. I've had similar to the fishscale situation occur for almost 2 years I had begun drinking liquor again the last 3 years that may have caused it. I still have a cup every other day but it's been pretty tough diet of course is #1 I'm sure, I probably wouldn't go to a dermatologist though since its just cosmetic. Just gotta be more regimented in water intake.
Wow i think i have this because one I actually have eczema so i have sensitive scalp but i can get my hair washed at the salon and scalp be itching bad the next day im like how it just got washed?!!when i was a child suffered with dandruff real bad and used selson blue i dont have a rash on my sclap tho it just itches really bad i surfer with itchy scalp so idk if i have it or not
I totally agree. Omg I just washed my locs and I want to wash again. Its a shame that I still feel like my hair be so dirty still after washing. I tried things too and nothing helps . I grease my scalp, I spray, oil, I tried this separate not together but I'm so pissed my shit still feels like crap. Ima try another shampoo and peppermint oil something has to give damn
I'm feeling like taking out my Ras.. I'm so fed up of it! I have the exact same problem and I go through the same irritating procedure every time I have to check my hair
Mine recurres every few years..has been my Bain since I was a kid. As a kid I was prescribed Coal Tar Shampoo. Currently going through another bout..so I'm trying the Coal Tar Shampoo. Think I'm gonna eliminate grains and gluten and sugar as well to see if that works.
Also T-Gel is a shampoo is the strongest one you can get without a prescription... it’s for dermatitis and psoriasis. But like I said in the comment before.. the natural solution is Apple Cider Vinegar mixed with water.. as well as tea tree oil. Olive oil is another good scalp moisturizing remedy that’s all natural and organic.
I had "cradle cap" when I was a baby and most of my hair fell out (mum has pictures) lol. Now I am in my early sixties and have long locs many admire. However a little dandruff happens after my hair is done by my dread lady. I am very helathy and eat well overall. No fish scales. Wow! Best of wishes to you!!
I thought cutting my locs would free me from this 😢 dead ass wrong easier to wash but problem still here and now I have short hair. Growing locs back tho
I legit never had dandruff before until I took acne medicine a few yrs ago & it hasn't gone away since 😢 makes me wonder how can I cure what's goin on within my body to "cure" the dandruff, & WHAT is goin on within my body to cause it?? 😯😶😶
I'm ten I have pics and I been gathering alot of information and it's my diet not alot of water, candy ,less washing ,and not doing alot for my hair tbh it stinks
This illness is horrid 😢I’ve tried everything as well ... my last hope is black seed oil capsules.... an herbalist told me today the issue may be in my digestive track bc of the food I eat which is causing the breakouts ... she said up my probiotics in addition to taking the black seed oil. I can’t use any Iloilo in my scalp it gets irritated 😣 fml
How can a person with starter locs and this condition make it work? I am one month into my loc journey and ans i can only go two weeks without washing my hair. So my locs keep unraveling. This time i tried putting the front in a ponytail and just wash the front roots out really well. I started my locs with two strand twist

Oh didn’t develop dry scalp / dandruff until I got locs .... been a year and almost six months and it seem like it’s getting worse ..
Saaame it started with my locs sadly and I’m about to comb them out
@@blisslove3758 damn how long you been having locs ?
@@callmesupreme1533 5 years in Oct. but this scalp issue is horrible. Again it started with the locs and hopefully it ends with them after I comb them out. Honestly its started off small and has gotten progressively worse each year.
@@blisslove3758 mine too ! Smh October it’ll make 3 years for me it’s mostly bad in the front it got so bad it was on the top of my forehead some too .. it will make you want to remove the locs !
@@callmesupreme1533 yup same place on my head, in the front smh 🤦🏾♀️
I feel you pain. My mom said she had this but she grew out of it...well when I'm 30 now. Lol I used Jamaican Black Castrol oil and I look like I have cradle cap...Glad I found this video thank you.
Your locs are beautiful.
I'm going to try it.
Playdattrack thts because your needing all that sugar rush...
How is your condition now?
Golly, her locs are SO perfect looking!!!
The glow in your skin is REAL. What is your secret 😍
Love ?
I used to use the medicated shampoos and I even took pills but stopped because they were too strong for permanent usage. My dermatologist told me to wash my hair every day, not gonna happen, so I have used different oil combinations on my scalp when it flares up but regardless I have to wash my hair every few days.
I had bouts as a loose natural to extent of altering my hair texture. I changed to a vegan lifestyle, reduced sugar, and greatly reduced wheat. No problems since. Nutrition is everything! Peace.
How is your condition now?
I cut out all animal products from my diet and that helped. But I had even better results when I stopped drinking wine and beer.
aprilracine thanks for sharing :) I just completed 21 days vegan eating and am looking forward the health benefits
YOLO
I’ve never had this with short hair but I started getting this with locs
Same for me!
Same here, it def seems like it’s the locs.
I thought I was the only one with this problem... ugh so frustrating. Ill wash my hair and literally a couple hours later I see "flakes" again
Jaden Williams same, its so annoying
i'm so glad I'm not alone on this. I was so scared because this just started happening to me a few months ago and it was so embarrassing. Wish I would have seen this earlier
You have BEAUTIFUL lox! You are so gorgeous!!! Thank you for sharing!
Alexis James sunlight helps 100%
ADARSH S NAIR it does but how to get sunlight onto scalp
ADARSH S NAIR bullshit sunlight makes very oily and worsen
I’m going back to my ACV +water rinses
I had mine cleared up. Then I used JAM and it came back. I wished I cleared it up completely before I started my loc process 🤦🏾♀️
Tea tree oil works 100%. I had this issue and was going to cut off my locs I used tea tree oil and no more. The smell is over bearing but it's worth it.
How to use it
@@bilimlrr7764 put half a teaspoon in a spray bottle add half cup of warm water. Spray on scalp, let sit for half hour. Wash hair, you will still smell the tea tree oil so use peppermint essential oil on the last wash. I had this scalp condition sooooo bad, but thanks to the tea tree oil it's been gone for almost 2 years. Good luck!
Your locs look amazing
Valerie Isidore does nizoral wash out relaxer?
I have seborrheic dermatitis with thick curly hair. My scalp was getting better after I was prescribed a special shampoo from the dermatologist(the same one you have I think), but once I got box braids it was all downhill. It’s worse than it’s ever been now and I’m trying to wash my hair more often to help it heal again but I feel like my hair is thinning out and I’m only 13 so it’s so scary and I feel like clawing at my scalp 24/7😭😭
Synthetic hair comes with chemicals on it! Trying washing the hair before installing it
Thank you so much for posting this information.
I also use scalpacin on my scalp to stop the itching when I have braids.
try adding 3 or 4 drops of organic tea tree oil to your hair oil on your scalp it is very goo with dermatitis and inflammatory flare ups.
Mayra Which supplements?
Yea 2:08 might just be the reason I'm going to just work on my diet before seeing a dermatologist
@Arielle B. 😲 thanks!
I’ll feel my scalp and it’s a lump of skin , and I just keep peeling it and it doesn’t go away !
@s dot123 exactly i be thinking my hair looks healthy until i comb it
Can I tell you it’s vitamin b2 that’s the body needs!!! Nutritional yeast added to the diet or the vitamins b2 does improve scalp
I went to a dermatologist and I was prescribed a topical oil but she really didn’t give me any details about what I’m lacking in my diet or whatever but she mentioned something about immune system.
It says I should apply for 4 hours or overnight then wash with regular shampoo every day for two weeks but I have something against washing my hair every single day, that’s just strange, I never washed my hair every day.
daylight was basically all i needed to clear up my seborrheic dermatitis
ADARSH S NAIR can you explain that. like going out in the sun more?
Victor Hernandez vitamin d. I read about this. They have a supplement
How 🤔
I try to grease my scalp and everything. Doesn't work!!! Nothing works! Will be going to a dermatologist.
Phoenix apple cider vinegar and water mixed. Tea tree oil too... thank me later.
Your locs are amazing
I vacuum my hair with a Dyson a few times a week. Also stop using oil on your scalp. Your feeding the yeast.
I got mine from stress and it wont go away...
My scalp always itching not flakes
Your locs are absolutely beautiful
Try a glycolic or lactic acid peel to regenerate new healthy skin on your scalp. Try aloe vera spray for quick all over moisture and soothing.
That’s the same shampoo my doctor ended giving me and it’s the only thing that works
Washing your hair and it’s still flakey! I hate!
Is there an update on how the Ketoconazoie has been working for you?
It doesnt work for mine sadly
Beautiful. I've had similar to the fishscale situation occur for almost 2 years I had begun drinking liquor again the last 3 years that may have caused it. I still have a cup every other day but it's been pretty tough
diet of course is #1 I'm sure, I probably wouldn't go to a dermatologist though since its just cosmetic.
You are very thorough and your hair is beautiful thanks merry Christmas🎄🎉
Also T-Gel is a shampoo is the strongest one you can get without a prescription... it’s for dermatitis and psoriasis. But like I said in the comment before.. the natural solution is Apple Cider Vinegar mixed with water.. as well as tea tree oil. Olive oil is another good scalp moisturizing remedy that’s all natural and organic.
wow that must be difficult.
I really wanted a close up because i have locs and have been feeling like i have this but i only see vids with loose hair
I've used ari blend and it has worked miracles for me, I definitely recommend that hair oil.
Stephanie Mendoza can u put the picture of ari blend?
I use tree oil shampoo and what u recommend for my hairline
I'm ten I have pics and I been gathering alot of information and it's my diet not alot of water, candy ,less washing ,and not doing alot for my hair tbh it stinks
This illness is horrid 😢I’ve tried everything as well ... my last hope is black seed oil capsules.... an herbalist told me today the issue may be in my digestive track bc of the food I eat which is causing the breakouts ... she said up my probiotics in addition to taking the black seed oil. I can’t use any Iloilo in my scalp it gets irritated 😣 fml
I want lots so bad... I just cut all my hair off it’s beyond irritating
Your locs are so beautiful.
How can a person with starter locs and this condition make it work? I am one month into my loc journey and ans i can only go two weeks without washing my hair. So my locs keep unraveling. This time i tried putting the front in a ponytail and just wash the front roots out really well. I started my locs with two strand twist
Great video. Did you suffer from hair loss at any point because of the dermatitis?
