I’m ceaselessly amazed at how craftsmen like you are able to visualize a piece of art from within a piece of wood that would otherwise be rotting in the woods somewhere.
For the longest time, I’ve just been using UA-cam to watch you and Matt Jordan. Love and admiration from 🇺🇸.

This is the first time I've seen someone work with Yew like this. I had no idea it had such color variation. I love how you worked with the nature and shape of the wood and didn't try to fill in the voids. The finished piece is so interesting, so beautiful. Thank you for sharing your talent with us.

@@AndyPhillipWoodturning 100% agree. I'm not creative in the slightest and have an odd dislike of earthy tones, but the colours in that wood are unbelievable!
Out of interest, how much, typically, would a piece like that sell for?
PS This isn't a "muh price" type of question. I'm always amazed when I watch genuine craftsmen produce a piece of work and, more so, the amount of time that is put into it. I work in tech and don't even want to think about the amount of money the company I work for would charge for that amount of time D:

Andy i am a retired Nurse who did a very very small amount of woodturning in my early 40s and i loved it but it was what most people think when you say woodturning, stair spindles! I have been watching several of your videos and i am truly in awe. You give a whole new meaning to wood turning/carving and it is absolutely beautiful. I have fallen back in love with wood because of you but i am now 70 and know it wouldn't matter what equipment i had i could never dream of producing what you produce. You are a wood artist. Congratulations. You are incredibly talented and i wish i could afford one of your pieces as it would have pride of place in my living room. Keeeep turning!

The profound impression evoked by this remarkable Edge Vessel reminded me of Immanuel Velikovsky, book "Worlds in Collusion." However, it transcends the terrestrial realm and instead alludes to a cosmic ballet of celestial bodies, wherein stars and galaxies engage in a mesmerizing dance of collision. This exquisite composition appears to have successfully encapsulated the resplendent tumultuousness of the cosmos.

Same thought here. The epoxy treatment cheapens the overall product so much, it looks so trashy in comparison to just the plain wood

Thank you. I never tire of watching an artist at work and waiting to see what transpires. I think that is one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen made. It should be in a museum so that many people can see it and admire how beautiful wood is and how wonderful that there are craftspeople who can use modern machinery to bring out the beauty in the world. Thank you again I shall enjoy watching this video time and again

Stunning. Absolutely stunning. Do you think your art is a bit Abstract. I was explaining to a friend's Dad a piece I'd watched you make. And I disbribed your style as Abstract with purpose. He didn't get it so I showed him one of you videos. His answer to it was, that's the most beautiful wood art I've ever seen. Love to watch you create.
