Why pump not running when hw valve opened manually? I'm newly qualified gas engineer and wanted to say big thanks for your time and effort to share your knowledge with us.
Because when you manually open a valve you dont actually "make" the electrical switch (microswitch) inside the valve. All you do when you put the valve on manual is open the water pathway.
Keep the videos coming bud ! I look forward to seeing them pop up every week or so despite doing it for a living ! I was taught by one of your subscribers jaxmar, I was fortunate and was given a good education from his years of experience on a larger firm at the time allowing me to now work for myself. Anyway look forward to the next part coming up. Cheers
You’ve just got another subscription as I’ve had to create a new account as was having issues with this, As far as getting more subscribers I guess if the content you put out interests people they will subscribe , I guess it’s no different to starting a company for example it takes time for people to hear about you. A few guys now watch you as I’ve told them how good you are and that you could help them learn. I’m sure others have too. Don’t stop doing it as for us who love what we do it’s great to watch. Enjoy your weekend !
Not sure how you can get more subscribers but PLEASE dont stoop to the depths of getting some dickhead to stand behind you eating flux from his Fluxuator tool because that might yet make me cancel my subscription with another UA-camr, its clear you have the knowledge and Im sure with time more people will follow your channel, good luck.
Another great one. YOU SHOULD DO A FULL BOILER REPAIR & BREAKDOWN COURSE. I would gladly pay for it. I am sure enough engineers would be willing to pay you for it as your videos are so informative and well delivered.Hope some of your subscribers agree.(I would pay up front)
I use to. Until I worked out you have to clean the body too. Then I realised you could clean it all up. Money in my pocket and and not some manufacturers!
I miss read this comment. your talking about the actuator head. I was replying about the PRV head.... If you were paying you would do the syncron motor right? Thats how i look at it. you can get syncrons for about £10 but an actuator has got to be £30
HeatingGeek iv known actuators alone to cost more than the complete valve mate! I might be thinking of pump heads actually ? but you order a Drayton trv head and it will cost more than the complete valve and head . LOL I wondered what you meant by cleaning the 2 port body , surely you don’t brasso them lol
Yeah the comments get all jumbled into a list when I answer them . Except the one above which docent show. Thats a few of yours that have done that???? I still don't understand this stuff!
hi, any idea what size closed end crimp caps you are using to join the wires together in the video please? a link would be even better much appreciated!
With the motorised valves how can you tell what they are doing regarding the lever on the side If it can be moved freely then its open ? Manual is open Auto Is in position at rest ?
Don't use the lever for anything other than manually moving the valve. Using it for diagnosis isn't consistent. Loose means its open, but doesn't mean its open enough to make the contact on the microswitch.
Hi heating geek, recently found your channel. I have subscribed and have used your affiliate links to buy a few tools and tool roll. Do you have an affiliate link for the crimps you use when replacing the synchron motor on the two and three port valves? I enjoy your thought process when diagnosing these faults. Look forward to you forth coming videos. Cheers.
The 2 fuse one goes more often. If the pump is larger than normal it can cause premature failure because it pulls to many amps through the relay on the PCB.
No, thats not true. I have customers where I oiled there older 2 port when fitting a new boiler. That boiler was an older Vaillant ecotec. So pre 2012. The 2 port valve is still going strong.
Worth a shot:) honestly I'd work for you for free just to learn. Im fairly local;) your channel is so underrated and you deserve more subs. Keep it up.
HeatingGeek I'm not a UA-camr but it seems when starting out to put everything you say in the video in the description, this helps your video to come up as related when people are searching I think. Your content is a bit more niche, not for the diy peeps anyways so that might explain low sub count at the moment, none the less it's very interesting for people like me who are still learning the trade and your channel will grow I'm sure of that. All the best mate.
Really great videos. I notice that you prefer to repair rather than whole parts, ie synchron motor instead of whole power head etc. And I think thats a good thing, very honest etc. But trouble I've found is that very occasionally you repair something, and because of the age of it, it fails again, sometimes something else that could not have been foreseen goes wrong. To the customer who calls you back, that will be "he hasn't done the job properly" and I find it hard to explain to them that I'm trying to work in their best interest. So sometimes I think it pays to just replace completely, to avoid that possibility of a return visit, pissed off customer because its still not working, etc etc etc
Brilliant job I get my apprentices to watch your videos !

HeatingGeek oh ok I thought it does. Sorry for silly question mate . Many Thanks for yr reply
Its not a silly question. until you ask, you don't know. I didn't know until I asked someone. ;-)
Unless it's a danfoss one. That will make in manual.
Always good to see how you diagnose the issues ' can't wait for part 2.
I might not get to part 2 tonight. Hopefully filming part 3 tomorrow.
Even more hopefully it will be the last part!!!
So good to watch an expert at work.
Thanks. Hopefully part 2 today
Yes nice to see isn’t it mate
Really well explained and very good vid i dont know why some people disliking this video?
Money cant buy this kind of tutorial i luv it💪💪💪💪
Thanks for watching. :-) and thanks for seeing it for what it is. Just trying to help.

Yeah eating flux isn't really for me.... I will just keep going as I am. Maybe get an intro done or something. Anyway no flux eating at the moment..
HeatingGeek keep it as it is all about the job in hand not some entertainment show like others Lol

Mum? Is that you??
Only messing. Maybe thats somthing I could do. It would have to be well thought out though. Food for thought
Nice, you are an engineer sir, not just a fitter. Thanks for the informative video.
Thanks a lot. I try and fix things and like to know how stuff works.
Thanks for watching and commenting. :-)
Thank you for sharing your knowledge, much appreciated.....
Another great video mate! Nice to see someone not just changing the head 👍🏻

HeatingGeek exactly! : ) very informative video, seen part 2 and looking forward to part 3 lol

@@HeatingGeek that's great thankyou
Where is part 2 mate? Cant find it.
Thanks your explaining it really nice and educational .
Thanks. I worry that my brain jumps all over the place when I'm diagnosing things!!
Glad to know some people are getting it.
Thanks for a really good detailed video
Thanks a lot.
What sort of resistance values are you looking for between the grey and the orange / ohms ?
Great video 👌
When the switch is made? (was this a 2 port) I cant remember this video TBH :-\
very informative Excellent
1st class video thanks for this 👍🏻👍🏻
I can remember this video. Im glad it helped though. ;-)

More fault finding tutorials would be great. Please
Too busy at the moment. ASAP though
Great vid mate keep it up👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks. The comments make me feel like its worth it. :-)
Man I have done loads of courses, however you explain it so well and in a very professional way. many Thanks Claudio gas safe.
Thanks. :-) Glad it helps people.
what do you charge for fixing a wiring fault causing no water supply
£150
Where's part two?? By any chance was it the valve body letting by?
ua-cam.com/video/vDTv34n7ffI/v-deo.html Here it is.
HeatingGeek thanks dude. I changed those pcbs before and it was a double fused one. I got it from A10 boilers in cheshunt
The 2 fuse one goes more often. If the pump is larger than normal it can cause premature failure because it pulls to many amps through the relay on the PCB.
Top quality, and grateful for your efforts as usual. Can't wait for the next instalment. Thanks
Thanks a lot. Im going to the job today so maybe the video will go up overnight.
Thanks again :-)
good vid..
Thank you
If HW valve body is stiff then oiling it will only last short-term. A permanent repair requires new plate to valve body !
No, thats not true. I have customers where I oiled there older 2 port when fitting a new boiler. That boiler was an older Vaillant ecotec. So pre 2012. The 2 port valve is still going strong.
Well impressed, r u self-taught ?
Yes. I done it in company time though. Most companies would rather you got it right every time than don't 12 jobs a day!!
Love your vids mate, when do I start?
Tomorrow. Even now!!! No time to waste.
don't put it off. I wish I had the work for me let alone you!!! :-)
Worth a shot:) honestly I'd work for you for free just to learn. Im fairly local;) your channel is so underrated and you deserve more subs. Keep it up.
Get me some more subs!!! I do need them. Hopefully I will know the outcome of this job later today. ;-)

How did you get all this knowledge? Are you interned in doing one on one teaching sessions and how much would that cost? Whereabouts are you based?
Im in Hertfordshire. I just kept trying to find out whats going on with things.
You are not far from where i am (potters bar). Do you have an email address?

I get what you're saying. I don't charge for reattends!!!! so customer pays nothing.
That way they cant be upset. I don't get very many re attends a year. Maybe 3-4.
😇
Thanks. :-)
This is absolutely ludacris
