In a nutshell, i buy new yoyos with "RPG" strategy. When you level up your skills and the game gets harder get a new weapon that makes better use of those skills. That way i dont start moving up price brackets until my skills are on par enough to notice the subtle changes as you go up in quality and try new shapes.
Because if one breaks or is pissing me off I have the others. Plus each new yoyo feels different and changes the game. Wouldn't be as much fun as only having one yoyo. I only have 4 throws but I know they breed over time haha.
I kinda feel bad to buy yoyos, because they're so expensive. I have been throwing for nearly 2 years and have around 10-15, most in the midrange. Going to order my first CLYW today, so excited!
I currently own 24 throws have given some away to buddies bc they showed interest. But among my favorites is a g2 warthog a 2sick Rook. Kuntosh qv and Topdeck. Love the vids man! My other hobbies include collecting comics and pocket knives.
Love your collection and your channel. Have you done a review on the Sidekick metal yoyo from Amazon? I've been thinking about getting one because of their colorways. Keep up the awesome work sir!!
I haven't tried one. I'm not sure they're any good. I've actually heard they aren't. I haven't tried one, though. I'd love to try one out if I got the chance, but I wouldn't shell out for one.
Ugh, I feel ya man. I get way too excited and hyped over whatever my current hobby is. I get way out of control with spending and let it stress me out waayyy too much
Always enjoy the discussion videos. I prefer having a few, but not too many or my version of OCD kicks in and I can't choose what to play with. >_< Currently I play with 4 (unique) yoyo's: N5, N12, Shutter, and Space Cadet. I actually have 5 N5 Desperados which are my favorite "metal beater"s. They're like $5-$10, fun to throw, reasonably stable, fit in my pocket, and who cares if they break.
For me, I divide my yoyos into three categories: 1.Beaters These are the yoyos that I take everywhere. Plastic or metal, these ones are less than $20 that I can get on amazon or something 2. Nice metals These are the yoyos that I take around the house. I only play them inside. Usually $45-$70 3. OOHMYGAWSH These are my REEEEEEALY nice yoyos. Over $70. Once again, Ill take this opportunity to brag about my kuntosh 5000qv and my g2 marvel by the way congrats on 400 subs!
I like to have one yoyo at all times that is capable of or designed for a trick I don't have yet. If I can do every trick on all the yoyos I have then I don't have enough. Right now I'm working on Finger Spins w/ my translucent purple Skyva. :)
I'd have more yoyos if I could afford to buy more often lol. I got that same color 5000QV Kuntosh, threw on some brass spike side effects and a pixel bearing, best yoyo I've ever thrown
So my quick story; I picked up a butterfly from target to show my daughter some tricks. B4 that I haven't yoyo'd since the 90s. I looked up some tricks online and realized that yoyo' s have come a long way in 20 years. I bought a few and plan to buy a whole lot more... in my point of view if I was going to collect something why not collect yoyo's, they are in the perfect price range.
Hi Tom: i'm a fan since March of 2017. i'v'e been watching your videos and love them! I'm a long time player of Yo Yo's and iv'e been playing as a beginner because i never put time and effort. i get asked the same question. I tell them when i can borrow your yo yo i ll ask you to try it; until then i need to buy them and collect them to see what I like! that quiets the question. Thanks for your reviews and look forward to your videos all the time!
Dude I'm a freak.I have 30+ guitars,4 basses,4 drum kits and a lot more gear.Got 3 laptop bags full(w/ studio foam and can cut holes),Sam case full top and bottom, smaller plastic case and a laptop full of pos.I don't think your weird for it.I always dive in head first on hobbys.RC nitro trucks was the most $$$,done w/ that!lolThanks for the vid!!!!!!
I love collecting things. I don't need all the ones I have and I'm not even very good at this hobby...but damn I love the thrill of the hunt and splurging on nice things. They make me happy. I like owning them. I take pride in them. I VERY rarely get buyers remorse. Also...I have legit issues with obsessing on things and buying things I really shouldn't while not using that money on much more important things in life. But seriously? Who needs an oil change in the car when you can get a new throw! Groceries for the month are only an option. However a G2 Banshee is something you can't live without! Rent? I have a car to sleep in!!
Are you getting complaints? if so, who cares? it's as you said, you can spend $65 on a video game and be done with it by the end of the weekend or you can buy a yo-yo and it'll stay with you for years. I have about 20 yoyos, and my eye is on at least five more so there we are. BTW what case is that? I use a pencil case that I got from Walmart but I think I need to upgrade and I prefer a hard case. Also I'm going to help you get some subscribers and throw you a shout out in this review I'm working on. Throw me one as well and we can help each other build our community and channels. We seem to be on a similar tangent, so it makes sense. What do you think?
Also, yeah, I'm down to shout your channel out. I'll put it on my suggested channels list and I'll say something about it on Tuesday when I do "random thoughts"
if you haven't got your answer about the case, it's a yoyo sam case. www.yoyosam.com/collections/yo-yo-strings-and-accessories/products/yoyosam-yo-yo-hard-case
The atlas yet a 100+ dollar yoyo is worth every penny it does grinds very well is stable for 5a does speed tricks with ease i would strongly recommend it i love it so much
Also I have a great relationship with a local toy store that stocks a few brands and I borrow a lot of yoyos to review. So its not as expensive as you would think. A pretty solid group of guys let me borrow stuff on occasion, too.

Loving those end of episode quotes ♥️

I am loving your channel! All things cool! Metal, beer, yoyos!
I kinda feel bad to buy yoyos, because they're so expensive. I have been throwing for nearly 2 years and have around 10-15, most in the midrange. Going to order my first CLYW today, so excited!
Buying yoyos is about as addicting as hard drugs.
True story. Wait till you get your One Drop package... you'll just want the rest of them.
Throws N' Brews I honest can't wait to receive it. Really hoping for a MarkMont. Classic, but I'll be happy with almost everything.
I just have so many, the likelyhood of me paying $69 for 2 yo-yos I already have was just too high.
I currently own 24 throws have given some away to buddies bc they showed interest. But among my favorites is a g2 warthog a 2sick Rook. Kuntosh qv and Topdeck. Love the vids man! My other hobbies include collecting comics and pocket knives.

you've convinced me to get a one drop benchmark. i was looking to get something new. good timing
You really can't go wrong, there.
Ugh, I feel ya man. I get way too excited and hyped over whatever my current hobby is. I get way out of control with spending and let it stress me out waayyy too much
i get asked the same thing and i tell them...i just love yoyos! its a fun hobby!!! hahaha!!! awesome collection!!!
Thanks, man!
At least there's someone out there that won't hesitate to drop 80 bucks on a yoyo and do a review on a yoyo no ones made a review on.
Exactly. I am super grateful Throws N' Brews exists

You and I seem to be cut from the same cloth.
My wife: Why do you have so many yoyos? (8 yoyos)
Me: Erhm.. because.... ... ... ... You're not the boss of me!
I love collecting things. I don't need all the ones I have and I'm not even very good at this hobby...but damn I love the thrill of the hunt and splurging on nice things.

Not complaints so much as I get asked kind of often.

You are like me, I like to collect, I want a bunch of yoyos
dude, it would mean a lot if you answered this question. Which is better the magic yoyo purple line or the magic yoyo n12??????? PLEASE ANSWER THIS
I like the N12 better because of the finish. The new Purple Lines are blasted, though. That might be better, but I don't have one of those. Get both.
Thx throw n brews
I have 30 yoyos love the hobby it will be with me foreva
too poor to get that many :( , but considering getting my 4th yoyo
The atlas yet a 100+ dollar yoyo is worth every penny it does grinds very well is stable for 5a does speed tricks with ease i would strongly recommend it i love it so much
to bad onedrop yoyos dont come with centering bearings so doing horizontal tricks would b a pain :(
You can always switch it out of you desire.
Throws N' Brews yeah but who has lots of diff bearings to keep swaping until u find the one where it plays as smooth as the original bearing
The G Squared Boss bearings work pretty well for me.
Need to sell my fpv drones and get more yoyos
I have 12 Yo-Yo's because 13 would be too many. >:)
What do you do for a living? How do you afford everything?!
Yoyos aren't that expensive. I do 401(k) compliance.
Also I have a great relationship with a local toy store that stocks a few brands and I borrow a lot of yoyos to review. So its not as expensive as you would think. A pretty solid group of guys let me borrow stuff on occasion, too.
spyy yoyo factory yoyo officer crucial yoyo magic yoyo string theory ametoys yoyo g squared I have them all lol
